summer is Big Ass Salad season because chopped veggies and random antipasti is about all the effort this heat and humidity allows. I made an experimental batch of fresh pea felafel yesterday though and 10/10 can recommend to anyone else who's still pickin em.
soup and salad both demand bread and butta so I made a fresh loaf too. for 2026 I challenged myself to bake all of the bread we eat at home and I’m still going strong on that! my in-laws just gifted me this little oval cast iron bread oven for my birthday so I was happy to try it out today. it will definitely be my go-to in the future, I love the shape of the loaf and way the crust turns out.
