Let me explain my thinking: when I first saw the trailer I had a big uncanny valley vibe and my first reaction was "Not Steve Rogers" - so then I thought oh, ok, this is like an evil manipulation vision to fuck with Thor maybe

But then I thought why? Why use Steve to manipulate Thor like that when there are plenty of others that would work better, including his mother and brother? Plus we were already teased with Steve's return with the clip of him holding the baby so this isnt restricted to this one moment. Why use evilmirror!Steve as a recurring character in a movie like this?

But that little smirk, calling the hammer to him with magic, using a visage of one of Thor's best friends, and using Steve specifically (which we've seen Loki do a couple of times now), plus add in the Loki post S2 of the TV show, who has had all this character progression, and is now a protector of the multiverse,and would understand what being worthy of Mjolnir now means, and would qualify i think, and who can see across all timelines and interact in a limited way, who views this Thor as "Thor" but potentially not his Thor, and so doesnt want to show up as Loki to break this Thor's heart and cause them both emotional suffering, and is potentially an aiding force in the story rather than an antagonistic one...

And now I can see this version of Steve popping up 2 or 3 times through the film to give specifically Thor help and with a little reveal of you were always my brother at the end

And all of this wild speculation is because I looked at that clip for 2 seconds and thought oh no theres something off there so I am fully aware that I have fabricated all of this from practically nothing
