Yes I know it would be repetitive but goddamn, the comparison is insane. Yeah so Pure Vanilla is given multiple chances to understand how Shadow Milk's trauma influences his actions and his loneliness and the narrative itself sympathizes with him. For Burning Spice? Uhhh let's have Golden Cheese just think that he's a mindless brute without even having the story itself properly delve into his trauma and never give him merch or art and then suddenly kill him off (he was already suicidal btw), ohh and for the cherry on top, let's have Shadow Milk fucking absorb him after he died

Silent Salt basically knows

In the Faerie Kingdom which is a kingdom heavily devoted to the witches and sees them as good and righteous figures ,there is a poem about the Witches eating cookies

Also Elder Faerie has been stated to learn directly from the witches themselves

Doughael was the happiest cookie alive when they found out cookies are destined to be eaten

When Gingerbrave and gang mentioned it in front of PV he had zero reaction as if this was common knowledge

This all makes the whole conflict look so small ? Like why is Dark Enchantress the only one who seems to care ?

Even the White Lily Cookie who got revived in the Faerie Kingdom doesn’t seem to dwell on it… Like before she learn the truth about Silent Salt didn’t she ever find it strange that the gods who eat the cookies are the same ones who sealed the ancient 5 demons away

What is this plot 💀

Making the war criminal who is responsible for two wars, mass murder, and has ascended to godhood being the only one who seems to be genuinely upset and wants to do something because of the witches eating cookies.. puts the story in a weird place

I meannnnn I can excuse it in Doughael's case since the whole point of their character is that them being so delighted about the revelation that witches eat cookies is literally the problem and the whole thing is meant to be disturbing. In fact, their character is probably a good example of the narrative actually emphasizing the problem for once. Same goes for Black Forest. The point of both of their stories is to warn us about the dangers of cults. Seltzer and Menthnol were pretty horrified and betrayed when they found out the truth

I absolutely agree with everything else tho lol. Most characters still don't know that the witches eat cookies so they don't even know what Dark Enchantress and Lily were trying so hard to free them from. We didn't get a proper dive into their trauma and the narrative puts more blame onto them than the witches for what happened at the banquet. The whole thing is left largely unaddressed and Devsis killed off the only victims who tried to do something about it... mkay

Silent Salt on the other hand basically said something like ‘In the past every cookie was given free will by their creators only for them to turn us into consumable treats fated to be eaten’

and he seems to be aware about what happened to Lily at the banquet so he knows that witches are eating cookies but again besides DE no one else seems to gaf ?

I think it’s because Salt and Fount were created directly by the witches and I don’t know about Witches Castle so I can’t really mention it but the virtues felt like they were gifts to Cookiekind by the witches

Salt seems to be apathetic about the situation I don’t think he would care and Shadow Milk is just mad that he doesn’t knows exactly why cookies were made yet he doesn’t seems to be bothered at the idea of the witches eating the cookies ?

Or do u think his just going to give PV the biggest side eye ever under that helmet lol

Silent Salt : “U tried to befriend a blue clown who has never felt remorse or taken accountability or tried to redeem himself… and you did that in front of the three kids he threw off a tower ? And you constantly try to understand him ??”

The only reason that killed off Silent Salt is because they knew he wouldn’t be tolerating another round of ‘I can understand you’ and get rid of Shadow Milk/jk

Hm... I don't really know. Maybe it would depend on when exactly this would be happening in the story? I don't know much about Silent Salt's character but I always did find it interesting that he is the first and currently only beast to properly co exist with his corresponding ancient. Even if he thinks Shadow Milk is irredeemable, remember that he initially thought the same thing about Lily, and he ended up bowing down to her. I mean, obviously Lily is more redeemable than Shadow Milk lmao, but like. Silent Salt didn't even think that Lily was truly sorry for everything she did, so if he views Shadow Milk the same way, then...

I don't think Silent Salt ever really gave up on solidarity, I think that deep down he wanted Lily to prove him wrong. Would Pure Vanilla co existing with his soulmate not be an act of solidarity? I can't claim to have a very good understanding of Silent Salt though, so I could be wrong about all this but I think he'd at least be conflicted

And if PV knows, doesn't it seem strange that the SM has no idea at all?

Elder Faerie? It seems so, but his warning can be interpreted in two ways. The first ones are like "don't go, the witches will punish you terribly for sticking your nose where you shouldn't" and "don't go, they will eat you". Then who is he? A religious Cookie who respects and fears (because of their power) the gods, or one who fears that his people and those dear to him will end up on a plate and therefore tries to hide the truth in order to protect them?

And it is very important to note that neither the Beasts nor the other Ancient Heroes know about this. Even when White Lily, being a Dark Enchantress, tried to explain that the gods created them to literally devour over a cup of instant three-in-one coffee, they thought she just had gone crazy. And in general, then the concept of the first Virtues is strange. Like... Why create a group of Cookies, endow them with virtues, and then eat them? It would be fine if the Virtues were a cover to control the Cookies but...it doesn't look like that at all. So there were the first witches who made cookies out of... some sincere good intentions and then something happened (but that's a separate topic and yes, it may be connected to Witch Castle, but direct confirmation is still needed)

And most importantly

WHY DOES NO ONE AT ALL CARE THAT GINGERBANG, THE CHILDREN, THE LITERALLY CHILDREN!!! WERE ALMOST EATEN BY THEIR OWN GODS!? STRAWBERRY COOKIE WAS ALMOST WITNESSING HER KIN BEING SENT INTO WITCH'S MOUTH! This kept bothering me throughout the entire game. On the one hand, I understand that since practically no one knows about this, no one can do anything but still, if you think about it, it’s terrible. You are a child/teenager who ran out of the Witch's house to avoid being eaten by the giant creature that created you and you don't even... know what to do about it because you have no one to talk/do anything to about it. Besides just accepting this fact. So, while everyone worships Witches, you just exist there with the idea that creators eat their creations and think it's normal.

(I really hope that I conveyed my thoughts more or less normally (very sorry if it’s chaotic) and that I didn’t miss anything.)

Well, Doughael obviously also knows, and because of them, Menthnol and Seltzer know, too. The entire order should know by now thanks to Doughael, actually. Pastry found out the truth on her own, though. Dark Enchantress told the cookies of Darkness about what she saw, and I'm pretty damn sure Black Forest also knows but like Doughael she don't seem to gaf (those two might be the only ones who are actually okay with this revelation 💀)

Uhhh I think that at least he and Silent Salt might have respect for each other? I don't think Eternal Sugar cares for him because I remember in a kingdom interaction, Shadow Milk called the ancients "half baked fools" or something like that, to which Sugar responded with "my other half is not like yours." Maybe she'd probably just think "ah so this is the guy Shadow Milk fumbled" 💀 I think if Pure Vanilla saw how possesive she gets of Holly, he'd be reminded of Shadow Milk

As for Burning Spice, I don't think that the Great Destroyer would get along very well with Mr. "Every conflict can be solved through conversation"... Especially when Pure Vanilla's OWN kingdom was destroyed in war, which Burning Spice would probably like. The Vanilla Kingdom valued peace and harmony so I don't think he'd be a fan of Burning Spice's destructive tendencies. I don't think that'd necessarily mean that Pure Vanilla would hate him, but I think Burning Spice would probably call him boring or something... I think they have potential for an interesting dynamic, actually
