It still surprises me that the third DCC book loses people. I found it more fun than the first two and most of the fourth. It can’t just be people getting hung up on the impossible level design.
The book brings Katia into the main cast, has some of the funniest moments (liquid patch 🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸🩸, Donut screeching at Hekla, Mordecai’s reaction to Chaco), the introduction of the Cookbook, has the amazing dynamic of the crawlers coming together to help each other, and a kickass climax. And an entire level built around just trains going to more trains, all underground, is awesome and atmospheric!
