After a killer school talent show performance in full masculine presentation, trans boy Kinkade is quickly knocked back down to earth when his crush rejects him, and the whole school sees him in the dress his mother forced him to wear for a family photo. So, when the new girl Madi assumes he is cis and asks him out, he accepts without correcting her.
After years of being ignored by his old crush and bullied by other boys, Kinkade just wants to convince Madi that he’s a regular guy’s guy. To impress her and finally win the approval of his peers, Kinkade agrees to his best friend Libby’s suggestion that they enter a competition to become the band for prom despite his misgivings.

I LOVED this book. If you enjoy realistic fiction, you'll also enjoy this book!
Nate Kinkade is a relatable trans senior in a school that doesn't really accept him. There are a lot of things that I found myself relating to in this. For example, how he uses his last name a lot instead of his birthname. I used to complain all the time about having to use my first name before I finally picked out a chosen name.
Nate's family is pretty realistic as well. His mom isn't immediately supportive, it takes time for her to wrap her head around it. The father and brother understand and accept but aren't overwhelmingly supportive. Many familes are like this, where one parent will be fine while the other confused.
And the teen romance with Madi and Nate! I loved it. The scene where they have their big fight at the theater made me keep reading because I wanted to make sure they wouldn't ruin their relationship. Madi is just so sweet and understanding, but she also sticks up for herself too. When Nate makes a dick move, she calls him out, and makes him realize.
The whole plot at the animal shelter almost had me in tears in though. My mom and I are actually looking into getting a dog since ours passed away last year and we really miss having a friendly face around. Nate's love for animals and similar situation healed a part of me that was still grieving my dog.
Overall, great book. It kept me enganged, i wasnt dragging my feet while reading it. In fact, i would stay up late just to get a few more chapters in.

Watched the Odyssey today with my grandma! (She likes greek mythology)
It was great! The only problem was that my movie theater (its like an off-brand theater thing. Idk how they got to screen it today) had the volume turned up SO loud. Like my eardrums hurt from all the insane action scenes
But anyways, it was great!
Also, P.S the Odyssey is fictional, this movie adaptation doesnt have to be accurate, thats like the whole point of fiction. The actors were incredible, their looks had nothing to do with their story so it shouldnt even be a problem. But unfortunately people are racist and transphobic and this movie gave them a reason to express their unwanted opinions.
I loved Helen and Sinon, they did a great job being their characters. Because thats the point of acting. You are pretending to be a character, you are not actually them
I love thinking about trans man Sheik cause he is so 'I've always felt ill-fitting for this body and role that I've been born in. Everyone says that I'm the perfect child/princess/daughter but I feel like I've been lying to myself since the day I was born and I will continue to lie to myself until I die. Why do I feel so free when my home literally burned before my eyes and my kingdom suffers without me doing a thing about it. Anyway about to go hit up the kakariko medicine lady for testosterone now'

Like right now, im reading "Out Of Blue Comes Green" and I LOVE IT
I'll post a more detailed review about it later but its somewhat similar to Stay Gold by Tobly McSmith and has stuff to do with bands, dogs, romance, and family drama. I love it and literally read like 15 chapters in one sitting

Okay, someone who knows what the main details are to the Linked Universe, please explain it to me
I kind of want to write a fic about Hyrule Warriors Link but it would be really cool and easier for me to write if the Links from the other games were there.

I love Hunter and Beckett, a bear and a tboy, my two favorite character traits. Though, Im not sure how I feel about the thing going on with Hunter and Jory. Isnt Hunter like a Junior or Senior and Jory is a Freshman? Idk, seems a little weird tbh but whatever.
