I try not to be.  Even Dad sees his work as more about doing good than trying to convert people.  If they’re interested, he’s thrilled, but there’s so much more that needs doing in the world.

The bible was written long ago, by people who didn’t take much of modern society into account.  That’s why you have to take the ideas that are good, helping others, doing no harm, living a good life and go with that.  It should be.

Fair point. Isn’t there a saying about reading the bible like you eat your fish? You take what’s good but don’t choke on the bones. That seems to be a common mentality religious people adapt when pursuing their faith in our modern society.

Rory kept playing through Jack’s attempted at small talk, trying to squash it before it really got up off the ground. Rory had played the guitar for as long as he could remember, moving on to it from the violin mainly to piss Collin off, who called him out for ‘squandering’ his talent on something so common. He was a good player when didn’t try, was amazing when he put effort into it, but when he wanted to just whack out a sound for the sake of conveying his feelings, he just did that instead.

“Don’t worry, I’m not rushing.” The Switch added a little hesitantly, not wanting Jack to think he was suddenly going to up and leave. Not because he wanted Jack’s company – he didn’t want anyone’s comapny right now – but because he wanted to keep playing until his fingers bled and he could feel the thumping in his ears for days to come. 

“I’m not worried.” Jack simply responded. It was evident that Rory had zero interest in conversing and that was all fine by Jack. It was odd, though. In their past interactions Rory had been quite the chatterbox and what was even odder was the fact that Jack never felt strained in keeping up those conversations. He might even say that he enjoyed them. Well - he’d think it, but he’d certainly never admit to it. Standing up from the piano bench, Jack dropped to his knees, opened the seat of the bench and started fishing through sheet music, making sure to keep his eyes on the music in an effort to remove himself as much as possible so that Rory could focus on blaring that guitar.

Finding a few songs he’d been meaning to toy around with; Pachelbel Canon in D Major - being a particular, embarrassing favorite of his, Jack stood and sat back down at the piano where he couldn’t help but watch Rory play. There was a lot going on there. It was evident in his face, in the way he played in ever little movement he made. As usual, Jack found himself somewhere between fascination and infatuation as he watched on, hoping that Rory wouldn’t find his viewership too invasive.

I definitely do, I never denied that.

And I’ve been here over a year. I was definitely more twinky when I got here. Not totally, I’m a trained marine, after all. But the baby face took a while to disappear. No? So you’ve got a submissive streak?

Aah, I see. Well, I’m not sure your baby-face has totally gone away, but it’s not babyish enough to detract from your very, non-twink frame.
