It has been years since Pandora last saw Lily. 

It was at graduation; Pandora had hidden herself somewhere in the crowd where Lily couldn't see her.

She looked happy, laughing with her friends, the sunlight reflecting off of her fiery red hair and her green eyes sparkling with determination. And Pandora remembers thinking, ‘She's going be alright’.

They had already parted ways long before then. War, politics, family, ideologies — it all had gotten the better of them. Lily was adamant that if you could help, you should, whereas Pandora just wanted to survive. She didn't want to be dragged into this war, or drown in her family’s values, she wanted to make her own choices. She wanted to come out alive.

And now she is.

She lives. 

She lives as far away from the battlefield as she can. She lives with her husband and daughter. She lives without her friends, without her family, without her past — it’s just like she always wanted, and yet it is nothing like she dreamed of.

She misses Regulus, her best friend. She misses Barty, her partner in crime. She misses her brother Evan. She misses Dorcas with whom she could always laugh. And she misses the girl she loved more than anything, the girl she had once whispered forever to, the girl with whom she had made plans for the future. The girl whose face is now hidden among all the other happy news in The Daily Prophet. Her bright and happy smile, a stark contrast to the words printed above it.

James and Lily Potter found dead…

They’re gone, both of them. The war is over and Lily is dead. 

With trembling hands Pandora puts the newspaper back on the kitchen table and closes her eyes, and for just one single moment she is sixteen again, watching as the girl she loves steps into the sunlight. 

Lily still couldn’t see her, and now she never will.

he'll brush sirius's hair out of his face in the middle of a conversation without thinking, he'll take sirius's cold hands and warm them up while continuing to read his book, he'll automatically save sirius the better seat by the fireplace because he KNOWS sirius is always cold.

these things don't even register to him anymore. they're instinct!!

Sirius & Marlene table dance at every opportunity and swing their heads when rock and alt rock come on

Remus either nods to the music or sits on the side watching others dance

Mary takes people by the hand and twirls and swirls them around

Lily IS the people being taken by the hand and twirled and swirled around

Pandora and Sybill free dance with their arms over their heads and eyes closed half the time

Peter does the worm and the octopus arms

Evan doesn't dance much or maximum twirls Pandora around if she asks politely

Barty dances anything that makes Evan jealous until Evan teaches him how to waltz (iykyk)

Regulus doesn't dance unless properly wasted and only waltzes bcs he doesn't know other dances
