Would.
Timothy Drake-Wayne and Red Robin don't hold grudges. Someone could try to stab them, and he would still greet them amicably.
Tim, however, absolutely holds grudges. He'll forgive his siblings for betrayal or attempted homicide, but every piece of technology they own is obliterated if they touch his Zesti.
The lines he'll cross are more extreme if he's holding a grudge for someone else.
A person mentioned three years ago that Robin's (Damian's) outfit looks stupid. They still get every single red light when they drive.
That new JL member that implied Batman is too cold-hearted to be a hero? Every embarrassing moment of theirs on patrol (including tripping) is uploaded onto YouTube as failure compilations.
Duke knows it's no coincidence that every jerk he's mentioned to Tim has been aggressively dealt with. He fully utilizes this but allows himself plausible deniability.
Tarantula hasn't been heard from in years. No one knows what exactly happened to her, but rumors indicate she suffered greatly.
A goon that had gotten a lucky hit on Red Hood ended up at the police station 24 hours later with all the bones in their dominant hand broken.
Any person that makes ableist comments about Barbara has their information directly sent to her. She prefers to deal out the retribution. Steph is similar, but she'll sometimes ask Tim to join her.
Cass treats the experience as a siblings bonding trip whenever someone is stupid enough to slight her in front of Tim.
"But helping poor people should be voluntary."
And even when it is, people still have a problem with it.
I went back and did some digging, because it occured to me that I didn't know the date reference of this story and, sadly, there are way too many stories about school lunch debt that they're easy to mix up.
This particular story was from July 2019 (I reblogged it Sept 2022).
There was a relevant update within a week of the scandal: public outrage was swift, the embarrassed school board redacted the outrageous allusions to indebted students ending up in foster care, and it accepted the CEO's $20k donation.
It doesnt change the fact that the very concept of "school lunch debt" is disturbing and inhumane (and there are still stories about children...with lunch debt...). And clearly, the district changed it's tone because it didn't like the bad PR. But figured it was helpful to have more info and context.
Here are some of the relevant sources; each offer bits of info unique to each specific source:
1) "Pennsylvania school district turns down local businessmanâs offer to pay off student lunch debts"
2) "Pennsylvania district sorry it warned that lunch debt could lead to foster care, accepts $22K donation"
3) "Pa. School District Reverses Course And Will Now Accept Donations To Cover Lunch Debt"
4) "Pennsylvania school lunch debt furor ends with an apology and an announcement: free lunch for all"
Remember: Public outrage can and does solve problems.

Zuko's unkillability should be utilized more in post canon. Every fire lord Zuko headcanon is all "poor Zuko, having to deal with so many assassination attempts, this boy is hanging on by a thread." But listen, my guy has already survived being burned, blown up, electrocuted, fought three agni kais, faced the Avatar numerous times. It becomes something of a meme in the FN that no one can kill the firelord so you shouldn't even try, Zuko ends up surviving increasingly elaborate and unlikely assassination attempts. He develops an immunity to poison after having been poisoned so many times. He's just like "huh, you thought THAT would kill me?" at this point.

Ok this wikipedia article is pissing me off so muchÂ
yeah iâm gonna re-write this fucker
goddamn. there is so much bias in the first paragraph alone:
this is an EXCELLENT example of the way word choice and tone can be used to create bias and transform the truth to suit the writerâs purposes.
Hereâs my re-write:Â
i got rid of the passive tone (which distances Profumo from his actions), and changed the photo. notice how the original writer chose a photo taken before the scandal, portraying Profumo in a respected position of power, a powerful man seated at a desk. I chose a photo taken in the aftermath. Which would you say more accurately reflects the context?Â
some other changes:
âdenied improprietyâ like heâs some maiden aunt clutching at pearls. No, what he actually did was:
oh, and he wasnât
he was, in fact
after lying through his teeth. now hereâs my favorite bit:
what does that MEAN? what the hell does that MEAN??? oh boo hoo hooey the Prime Ministerâs self-confidence was damaged, how dreadful for the poor dear. the poor sweet manâŠ
fuck that. in fact, Profumoâs actions
of the government, and rightly so.
oh, and the young woman in question was a model, not a âwould-beâ model. But ultimately her profession has no relevance hereâwhat is relevant is that a middle-aged man in a position of power slept with a 19-year-old. I wonder what motive the original author could have had, to choose to emphasize her career over the fact she was still a teenagerâŠ
Words can be used to bend anything. Pay attention to tone. Pay attention to authorial intent. Pay attention to what is included and what isnât. Question everything. But especially question the language used to describe historical and current events. Every writer has an agendaâlook for it. Above all:Â
Read critically.

Reblogging because this lesson is important to writers as well as readers. You can tell the exact same story many ways just by changing the tone, the wording, or the angle of the metaphorical camera.
If you are writing a piece of historical fiction, or a fantasy loosely set in the real world, be aware of these angles when doing research. It can help you 1) not misrepresent the past, and 2) create the tone you want in your interpretation.

For the Viceroy AU, how does Tom figure out Gabriel was the one responsible?
Castiel comes to Sam for advice about his crush on Dean but he obfuscates who he's talking about successfully because Sam doesn't know just how much he and Dean hang out without him.
Dean, obliquely trying to come out to Sam during a conversation about settling down: besides who would even want to date me long term. Cas is the closest thing I've had to a girlfriend in years.
Sam, casual and oblivious: I think Cas has a boyfriend.
Dean:...What????
Sam: yeah he told me about him. He's like a drummer or something, travels cross country a lot. I thought you knew? It's pretty serious, they've been together like 8 years I think?
Dean, seething with jealousy and horror: What's he like? Have you met him? What the fuck??
Sam, delighted to have more info on Cas than Dean does for once: Cas really didn't tell you? Well I guess that makes sense. I've always thought he and I share a more profound bond.
Dean: Sam.
Sam: Okay, okay. I haven't met him but from what Cas says, he's like, a real dork. Won't let anyone touch his CD collection, always brings up movie references no one has ever heard of- although it is Cas, who knows what his scale of normal movies is. He's good with kids, apparently.
Dean: sounds annoying.
Sam: ha! That's funny. I said he sounded like you, and Cas gave me a death stare. Yeah just like that one.
Dean: what does Cas want with a normie guy like that? And why didn't he tell me? There's gotta be something going on with this dude. This whole thing stinks. And - wait. Hold the phone. Cas is gay????
Sam: dude, you've met Cas, right?
Dean: shut up!!!! Keep talking. Where can I find this sonofabitch and how can we find out his intentions
Sam: well according to Cas he intends to be [cas impression] 'adorable and infuriating at the same time and succeeds on both counts'. Cas seems pretty happy with the guy, I think we should just be happy for him.
Dean, heartbroken and hiding it gruffly: yeah. I'm fucking ecststic.
#I love writing silly dialogue like this it's soooo fun. sam isn't stupid he just has Sam Plots happening whenever Cas confides in him#Castiel: he's got a psychosexual fascination with his car. Sam (actively fighting off lucifer in his brain): and he's in a band you say.
no youre so funny and right pls say that
Jazz is Special Agent Fenton of the FBI. She doesnât go by Fenton when sheâs out on a case though; she uses Nightingale. She does this because it keeps her identity secret.
Jazz is investigating a series of crimes. One of the other agents goes undercover to try and set them up in a sting operation. Things go south and now Jazz is going to Gotham to view the murder scene.
When she gets there, GCPD try to stop her at the crime scene barrier. She flashes her FBI jacket and her badge and is given access. She walks over to the police commissioner, a man named Gordon. Gordon obviously doesnât recognize her, and neither does the vigilante with himâBatman.
âThis is a closed crime scene, MissâŠ?â Gordon asks.
âNightingale. FBI.â She shows Gordon her badge. âYou and your men can clear out. This is our jurisdiction now.â
âWe havenât gotten approval toââ Gordon stops, but was interrupted by an officer walking over to Gordon and whispering something in his ear. âFine.â Gordon grumbled, and started telling his men to leave.
âYou too, Spooky. I donât need a vigilanteâs help.â She waves off the man without another thought, but Batman doesnât move. Instead, he completely ignores her and starts walking towards the crime scene. âObviously, you didnât hear me.â Jazz scowled. âIf you donât leave, I will remove you with force, Batman.â
Batman turns to look at her. âThat isnât how things work here, Agent Nightingale.â
âIt is now.â She kept her expression neutral. âClear out, or be removed. Your choice.â
Batman tried to look intimidating. Jazz refused to bow. The two stared each other down before Batman took another step towards the crime scene. She reacted instantly. Pulling out a taser, she placed it on his back before he could even react.
He reacted quickly, and sent three batarangs at her in rapid succession. His movements were a bit slower than normal after getting tased. She dodged two of the batarangs, and opted to catch the third in her hand. She flicked it away lazily and cracked her knuckles with a small smile. âI love it when they choose force.â
Batman didnât react to her comment. He seemed to understand he wasnât going to be able to get around her without a major fight. He let out an annoyed grunt and grappled away.
Three days later, they meet on the roof of an abandoned building. It seems like Batman was still on the case after all. Jazz was not happy about it. She felt that he was going to ruin the entire operation. She couldnât trust someone to have her back if they didnât show their face. She doesnât let the annoyance show on her face as Batman joins her at the edge of the rooftop.
âI thought I told you to stay off my case, Batman.â She said quietly.
Batman gave a quiet grunt. If she had to put it to words, it would translate to a âI do what I want.â
She didnât speak to him again, but she didnât kick him out, either. The two didnât speak a word as they sat for two hours, inspecting the warehouse across the street. It was nearly morning by the time Batman left. She did make sure he left, tooâshe watched him grapple down the street and heard the roar of the Batmobile pulling away before she breathed out a sigh of relief.
Watching the building was doing nothing. She was going to have to get closer. She was going to have to go undercover herself. The thought didnât make her any happier, even with knowing what happened to the last agent that went undercover for this operation. She also knew that to keep her tracker on her at all times, she would need to shove it inside a place that nobody would look for it. And boy was that uncomfortable.
Two days after she met Batman did she meet Brucie Wayne for the first time. By now she had been undercover with the modeling agency for a day, and it was going well so far. She was playing her part perfectly, but it could take weeks for them to trust her enough to give her information that she needed to know.
She had been hired to be arm candy for a wealthy man in Gotham. It wasnât Brucie, though she knew he had a few models on his arms as well. She had gotten through most of the night without incident before she ran into Brucie. Quite literally. Brucieâs champagne spilled down her dress, and she gave a mock scream of outrage.
Brucie tried to clean up her dress, but she swatted his hands away and went to the bathroom to clean up. She never noticed the tracker that Bruce put on the nape of her neck. When she came back out, she noticed her date looking for her. She rejoined him and the rest of the night went smoothly.
A month into the operation and she finally was getting some results. She had been moved from building to building more than once, but she finally got breadcrumbs for what she needed to take them down. It took her another three weeks after that to gather all of the evidence she needed.
At the final takedown, she was joined by none other than Batman. She had half-expected him to show up after she noticed the tracker on her neck six hours after it was placed. She didnât know when she had even run into the Batman at a stuffy charity gala. She had debated crushing it, but she didnât have backup and she figured his help was better than nothing. She still didnât trust him, though. She made sure he knew that, too.
Bringing the tracker up to her lips, she whispered, âDonât you know itâs rude to listen in on a lady, Batman?â
Together, she and Batman took down the traffickers. They had been using models and trafficking them all over the world to be used as sex slaves. She feels a certain satisfaction while watching everyone be escorted out in cuffs.
âNice work.â Batman says, figure tall and dark.
She hums. âThanks.â The silence stretches on for a few minutes before she adds in, âThanks for having my back.â
âI thought you didnât need a vigilanteâs help?â Batman teased.
She didnât look at him, but she could hear the teasing on his voice. She smirks and crosses her arms. âI donât. But youâre harder to get rid of than a ghost in a net.â
Batman didnât respond back to her, and it takes her a few moments to realize what she had said. She was of course, referencing her parents ghosthunting activities. But he didnât even know her real name, so how would he even know what he was talking about?
âWhen do you leave?â Batman asked.
âAfter everythingâs wrapped up. Why, you going to miss me?â She finally turned to look at him. She wished she could run facial recognition and figure out who was under that mask. The psychologist in her wanted to know just why a man would put on a bat mask and fight crime.
âI have a case that could use your input.â Batman deflected her question.
Was that a compliment from the Batman? His way of telling her that he trusted her opinion? Or was it an olive branch?
âMine or the FBIâs?â She already knew the answer to his question, but she wanted him to say it.
Instead, he just grunted in annoyance. She rolled her eyes and pulled a card out of the pouch that she kept her FBI id at and handed it to him. âThatâs my office phone number.â She tapped the card with her finger as he held it. âIf you want my personal cell, youâve got to earn it.â
He nodded and tucked the card into his utility belt. She could see the beginnings of a smile from Batman as he disappeared into the shadows and grappled away.
Surprisingly, it only took Batman a week to call her. She had gotten settled back into her office in DC, and had mostly forgotten about the encounter. She had to report Batmanâs appearance in her report, but beyond that, she didnât have to explain that he helped her take down the ring.
She made a flight back to Gotham the next day. Batman brought her into the Batcave and told her everything she needed to know about the case. She didnât know where the Batcave was, as Batman had blindfolded her, but she was impressed with his initiative.
âIm not wearing that.â She glared at him with all of the venom she hadâwhich was quite a lot.
âYou canât go out in your FBI jacket.â Batman deadpanned.
âWasnât planning on it. Do you think Iâm a rookie?â She shook her head and gestured at the costume that the vigilante had made for her. âThat doesnât give you the right toâtoâugh! Im not your Batgirl, or Batwoman, or whatever! I came out as a consult. I donât dress up in latex, and I donât wear costumes!â
The costume itself was gorgeous, not that sheâd ever tell Batman that. It was solid black, had a red bat on the front of it, and was fully equipped with a utility belt, knife holsters, and a taser. It had a full cowl like Batmans, along with the pointy ears on top.
âI donât see the problem.â Batmanâs voice had undertones of offense in it.
âLook.â She gestured at the costume. âIm honored, truly, that you want me to watch your back. But Iâm not a vigilante. Nor will I ever be!â
She had watched what vigilantism had done to Danny, Sam, Tucker, and Valerie over the years. Sure, sheâd gone out with them more than once. Without a mask. But there was something more complex about the costume sitting on the table in front of her.
âYou said you were going to help.â Batmanâs gruff voice got closer as he took a few steps towards her.
âAnd I did.â She gestured to the Batcomputer. âI already gave you my opinions of the case. I dedicated a weekend of PTO time to be here. But this is as far as my help goes.â
âWhat about the last operation? You owe me.â
âOwe you?!â She exclaimed, thumping her finger against his chest. âI told you to get lost. You still stuck around. You couldâve cost me the operation!â
âIt worked.â
She groaned in frustration. She was close enough to him now that she could smell the faint smell of Kevlar and aftershave from him. She rubbed a hand down her face as she thought over what had happened last time she was in Gotham.
âWhat about all your other winged vigilantes? You had uh.. Nightwing, and Robin, right?â
âItâs only Nightwing.â Batman responded. âHeâs unavailable.â
âI couldâve sworn you had a Robin, too.â She looked up at him and noticed the stiffness of his body.
âRobin has moved on.â Batman replied.
Hmm. Touchy subject. She wasnât going to push. It wasnât any of her buisness.
âYou must be really desperate if youâre trying this hard to get me to go out in that.â She smirked.
âThings could go wrong.â Batman said with a quiet sigh.
âDonât they always?â She tilted her head.
âNot always.â Batman mimicked her actions, clearly studying her. âWhat will it take?â
âIf I put that mask on,â She gestured to the table behind her, âYou take yours off.â
âNo.â
âFine. Deals off, then.â She pulled her phone out and immediately started looking for flights back to DC.
âWhy?â He questioned.
âI canât trust someone who wonât tell me who they are.â She shrugged.
Batman let out a quiet growl. As he took his cowl off, he scowled. âYou would know, wouldnât you, Miss Fenton?â
âHoly shit.â Her eyes got wide.
Bruce Wayne was the Batman.
Hey babe!!! Love your work! đđ After reading your newer works and re reading your ABO works I can just not stop thinking about what Tim would be like when he's really needy. Like after a long day of vigilanteing it up Tim is just absolutely wet for it and is pleasuring himself and dick and Jason walk in on it and Tim just begs for them
Well babe~
First off, I love that vigilanteing is now a word. So much yes.Â

This testimony from Paul Ley, a doctor at the European Hospital in Khan Yunis, Gaza, is absolutely sickening: âI have worked in hospitals in Afghanistan, Uganda, Ethiopia, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cambodia... but I have never operated on so many injured children as I am now in the Gaza Strip. In the burns unit of the European Hospital we now have 78 patients, nearly two-fifths of them children under five. I have never seen anything like it. I have been in many war contexts where the type of wounds are the same but the number is huge. We never leave the hospital. We work round the clock. We do operations with minimal anaesthesia. If we run out, we canât operate but there is no clear line. There are a lot of people crying, screaming with pain, but we donât have enough analgesics. We keep them for the kids or very severe cases. Normally we would change dressings on patients with 40% burns with them under sedation and minimise the time by using more attendants... Now it has to be done with a lot of pain. We try to keep our heads cool and steady, but for local staff this is their families, friends, their people. They never want to amputate. They say: âI canât do it any moreâ and so I say: âOK I will do it, donât worry,â and you can feel the reliefâ.
