What if “In Water” is the beginning of Silent Hill 2, not the ending?

Over the past few months, I have been writing a 103-page interpretive book about Silent Hill 2. It is not a plot summary, a traditional review, or an attempt to establish the only “correct” canon. It is a personal interpretation of James Sunderland, the people he meets, and the town itself. The central idea is this: what if the endings of Silent Hill 2 are not separate possible outcomes, but parts of one continuous cycle? In this reading, In Water becomes the beginning of James’s posthumous pilgrimage. Maria, Rebirth, and Bliss are different attempts to escape the truth, while Leave is the ending in which the cycle finally breaks. The book also contains separate chapters about Eddie, Angela, and Laura, as well as an artistic reconstruction of the events that may have taken place before James arrived in Silent Hill. OCD is pretty fucking debilitating and nobody takes it seriously because everyone and their brother still thinks it’s about needing things clean and organized and never once in my life has my OCD ever made me feel excitement to clean my kitchen but it absolutely had me obsessively checking my phone every five minutes to make sure I didn’t accidentally incriminate myself for a crime I don’t remember committing but I’m certain I did and forgot about

instead of shelling out 70 dollars for the new Silent Hill 2 remake, consider playing the original masterpiece for free on PC.

installing the game is incredibly easy even for the least computer-savvy people.

no matter your PC specs, you can play it. the game was designed to run on 2002 hardware. there is a 99% chance the game will run on your build.

the original Silent Hill 2 is abandonware, so you need not worry about the ethics of piracy.

after you install the game, be sure to patch it to turn it into the Silent Hill 2: Enhanced Edition.

the Enhanced Edition will let it run on modern builds and vastly improve the framerate and graphics.

you don't need to have any prior knowledge of computers to patch the game. follow the very easy instructions on the website. the game will essentially patch itself.

i feel. like on a fundamental level. i do not understand x reader fic. i am not exactly opposed to it because let a thousand blossoms bloom etc. but like. i genuinely don’t get it. it seems like the exact opposite of how i engage with fiction. like the whole point is that i’m not in there. i don’t wanna be in there. if i’m in there it’s going to be very stressful.
