What's your blog title from? My URL has been itspastmidnight since 2014 (I've been on Tumblr longer than that but I can't remember what it was before haha). I'm an insomniac, and was always awake "past midnight." Which is honestly even more fitting now because I work the night shift, so now I get paid to be up past midnight. My blog title "Vampire Apologist" is a tribute to my insanity about vampires and villains, especially vampire villains. Vampires has been—and always will be—my favourite trope in all of everything. I do not care how campy or cringe a piece of media is, if it has a vampire I will be obsessed. I also will never care how evil said vampires are. Evil vampires are hot. Evil fiction is hot. Villains and monsters can hit. For my active side blog— cunthulhu-xo is Cthulhu cuntified because I think it's funny and fitting for a fandom blog. "Oloth Plynn Dos" is drowic for "Darkness take you" which is one of my beloved Mithara's battle cries.

Latest movie? What did you think? Dracula Untold lmfao. Very unintentionally campy, but again it had vampires so.... I loved it.

What are you looking forward to right now? Fall. I hate summer in New England. The air feels like soup.

If you could do anything at all today, what would it be? Become hyper fixated on my original fictions. I have two original stories I've been working on for ages but I am always far too fixated on other things to really dedicate brain space for them. One day tho... the hyper fixation will hit, and I will get even more insane about my OCs

Drink of choice? Tea. I fucking love tea. My favourite tea is not super accessible but it's Ghost Cat by a small business in Salem, Mass. My other current fav rn is Lavender Earl Grey from Club Magic Hour. They come in apothecary jars!!!!

Hair routine? I have very thick, very confused curls. It took me so many years to get my routine right. I switch between Dove Intensive Repair shampoo and conditioner and Method Simply Nourish shampoo and conditioner. After the wash I'll use Pureology Color Fanatic leave-in spray—This stuff is fucking witchcraft for frizz control. Then I blow-dry (yes almost every time because my hair stays wet for eternity and it's a sensory nightmare) and after that I use Kevin Murphy Shimmer Me spray—More witchcraft for frizz control.

Favourite way to travel? Is there another way you want to try? Trains. I love taking the train. Unfortunately, in the Northern most parts of New England, trains are scarce. So I usually have to drive long hours or fly. I hate flying... it makes me so anxious.

Favourite month and why? I don't have one specific month but I adore fall, especially in New England. The leaves are gorgeous, the weather is perfect, and my favourite holidays are Samhain (Halloween) and Mabon (Autumnal Equinox).

Favourite time of day and why? ....past midnight! Even when I'm not at work and I love those early early morning hours. When everyone else is asleep, and there's nothing being expected of you. Nothing is open, nothing is happening. There's no societal routine to adhere to, no pressure to be productive or use your time efficiently, no noise. It's peaceful and it's the time that I feel most authentically myself.

Do you play or follow any sports? lol no. I use to be on a competitive swim team for my entire childhood and teenage years, but I hate competing. I still love to swim for exercise but you can miss me with that racing bullshit. I'm also not a sports watcher.

What kind of music has been stuck in your head lately? A bunch, but mostly I've had Poison by Alice Cooper stuck in my head for like 3 months now. It's an ear worm I cannot get rid of and I'm not even bad about it. (The Powerwolf cover did not help, in fact it made it worse.)

Dishes or laundry? Dishes. Laundry is my nemesis. It's like 400 tasks all rolled into one chore. Heinous. Diabolical. Hate it.

Something you learned recently? How to render irises better in procreate! My face drawings are looking a lot more how I see them in my head now!

What would you talk about if you could give a TED talk on anything? Oh boy.... I have so many soapboxes to step on. If I had to choose one probably how psuedoscience and conspiracy theories aid fascist movements and propaganda. And how ai is accelerating the decline of literacy rates and how that gives fascist politicians the power they need to propel themselves further, and how ai being hostility forced upon the general populous is contributing to... yeah I could literally talk for eternity about this.

Piece of advice you find yourself giving a lot? You are your own worst critic. I promise anything you create will be perceived better than how you perceive it yourself.

Piece of advice you'd give yourself 5 years ago? Go ahead and delete instagram and TikTok. Your life gets so much better after you do and future you wishes you did it sooner. Just do it.

Do you believe in luck and superstitions? Do you carry any lucky items or follow any? I don't but my OCD does lol. I have to wear the same pieces of jewelry every day or something horrible will happen, among other more unhinged things. I am always in fear of The Bad Situation and it being my fault somehow.

Are you musical (play any instruments, sing)? Would you ever perform for an audience? I play flute, piano, and a little guitar. I used to perform in high school, in groups. I was in the wind ensemble, concert band, and in the pit orchestra for our school plays. Would I perform now? Absolutely not. I've lost some of the skill over the years due to lack of time to play and living in an apartment so I'm always nervous I'm going to make too much noise. I was also in the choir and had voice lessons as a kid, so I can sing decently. Now, I also wouldn't sing in front anyone but my fiancé.

Write, type or speak? I prefer to type and handwrite things. Despite being a writer, I am surprisingly ineloquent with my speech.

What do you wish someone would ask you? Anything about my OCs. I love getting insane about my OCs and other people's OCs. I don't really get Asks about them on my BG3 blog (@cunthulhu-xo) and I wish I would! (I should be careful what I wish for tho haha)
