This is a side blog, made purely for my own enjoyment. I donβt make content for the masses. Iβm just a little pipsqueak helplessly in love with this game. I post a lot about my OC Olorna Auvryndar, her bg3 campaign happenings, and my art.

Basic
Name: Olorna Auvryndar
Aliases: High Sorceress of Shadows, Sorceress, The Poison Girl, Wannabe Bard (A special title that Kelβtyrrβher Bard bestieβcalls her)
Background: Sage
Gender: Female
Sexuality: pan/demi
Pronouns: she/her
Other
Family: Olorna's family is a coven of Shadow Sorcerers and Necromancers. They have established themselves in Skullport as a secret House of Seldarine Drow. I just posted a lot more about them here with more to come!
Birthplace: Skullport, Underdark
Job: Merchant/Shopkeep of an Apothecary in Skullport. She sells a variety of things such as alchemical concoctions (mostly poisons), dark magic spell scrolls, unusual/magical books, ritual necessities, and body parts/cadavers/bones for witchcraft and necromancy.
Phobia/fear: Loss of identity, depersonalization, detachment from magic, being stolen from, and the ghost of her dead husband being able to possess her.
Hobbies: Playing violin, singing, dancing
Morals
Alignment: Lawful evil/Lawful neutral
Flaws: Reactive, sometimes volatile, hedonistic, headstrong, will cut out your tongue, or a finger, if you piss her off enough. She'll "put you to good use" in an alchemical cocktail or poison.
Virtues: Excerpt from Meet Olorna:
She doesn't believe 'evil' is this monolithic archetype of malevolence. Evil, to Olorna, is part of life. Everyone is capable of evil, and everything has evil lurking within. She prefers to embrace and accept evils of all sorts, so long as they are rooted in purpose. Directionless, careless evils are where the wickedness of the world lies. Olorna's main motivation is protecting only herself and the people she cares about/trusts (which is a very small circle). She's reserved and slow to trust others. That being said, she isn't heartless. She's cautious, but curious and perceptive.
Core beliefs/tenets of her House; an excerpt from my newest lore drop:
π€ Embrace the Darkness, revel in Her beauty and protection.Β
π€ Indulge the darkest parts of yourself, for it is the key to leading a fulfilled life.
π€ Beware the depths of the Dark.Β
π€ Handle the shadows with mindfulness, lest you lose yours.Β
π€ Your cunning and wit are your most valuable assets.

More about the Structure/Hierarchy and Roles/Responsibilities of members under the cut!
Overture
Seldarine drow reject the Spider Queen. In doing so, most are wide spread and assimilate into other cultures within the Underdark or on the surface. There is no centralized city state or societal structure to adhere to. House Auvryndar functions more as a Coven than a traditional Drowic House. They are significantly smaller than a typical Noble House of Lolth.Β
House Auvryndar is based in Skullport, The Port of Shadows, and is made up of Shadow Sorcerers, Necromancers and a few Oathbreaker Paladins and exiles of Menzoberranzen. They are a faithless house, there is no patron god. Members of House Auvryndar 'worship' (for lack of a better word) the shadows and death/undeath as concepts, rather than deities. They revere in the beauty, comfort and protection of darkness. They prefer to remain in the Underdark and hope to one day transform Skullport into a larger hub for Seldarine drow. But for now, their operations remain subtle and "underground."Β
Most members of the House are blood related, but not all of them. Those who are enter House Auvryndar either by choice or marriage, must prove they are trustworthy enough to join. House Auvryndar must keep their operation discreet, as to not be uprooted by Lolthsworn drow. Exhiles of Menzobarrenzen and Oathbreaker Paladins of Lolth are typically the only outsiders allowed, because they have already proved disloyal to Lolth. While the House wishes to remain as purely a tight knit family, they must prioritize expansion over birth-right. (There are some internal conflicts about this topic. The current Matron Mother has decreed Expansion as overruling Birth-right.)
House Auvryndar specializes in dark magic, powerful rituals, and macabre trade. They are looking to expand. They encourage their members to have as many children as possible, and be on constant look out for exhiles and oathbreakers to recruit (as they don't have to go through rigorous vetting and already have common goals.) The House plans to expand as much as they can over the centuries, to eventually have enough power and ability to claim a Seldarine city state and begin pushing back against Menzoberranzen. (They dream big!)
Structure/Hierarchy
House Auvryndar is Matriarchal but men are seen as important contributors and if no female heir exists, a male heir may become in higher standing than a female, so long as he has the skill, knowledge, and accurate interpretations of their teachings.Β
The hierarchy is skill based, rather than gender or age based, and goes as such:
Matron Mother/Patron Father
High Sorceress of Shadows/Arch Mage of Necromancy
Alchemist Artificers/Scribes
Weaponmasters
Intermediate PractitionersΒ
Novices
Typically, those in the highest ranks are the eldest but not always. The Matron Mother could be younger than the High Sorceress. The Alchemist Artificer could be older than the Matron Mother. These titles are reserved for the highest skilled individuals. However, high skill levels are typically held by the eldest members that are still physically able to practice. There are some members of House Auvryndar that used to hold high ranked titles but have retired from practice, but are still involved in gatherings, often taking on a more supportive/mentor role for intermediate practitioners and novices.Β
Because House Auvryndar is significantly smaller than a typical Drowic House, one person can hold multiple titles. Especially at the upper levels of the hierarchy. For example: Olorna is the High SorceressΒ andΒ an Alchemist Artificer of House Auvryndar. The Matron Mother could also be the Arch Mage of Necromancy. Arch Mage could also be the Scribe. Ideally, those roles would be filled by different people but it is not always possible.Β
Roles & Responsibilities
Matron Mother and Patron Father
The Matron Mother and/or Patron Father is the head of the House. They are ultimate decision maker, ritual planner, organizational lead, teaching crafter, and quest appointer. Teachings are written and interpreted by the Matron/Patron. If there is a MatronΒ andΒ a Patron they will share responsibilities of the role, with final say falling to the Matron. Typically, there is only one person filling this role.Β
High Sorceress and Arch Mage
High Sorceress/Sorcerer of Shadows β this role is typically filled by the eldest or highest skilled daughter/son of the family.Β
Arch Mage of Necromancy β Some members of the family are not innately born with magic and learn magic through a Wizarding path as opposed to the typical path of intuition.Β
Both roles share the same responsibilities which inlcude:
Leading of rituals/ceremonies determined by the Matron/Patron
Magical Research
Teaching and managing the intermediates and novices
Overseers of the Treasury
Vetting new recruits.
Alchemist Artificer
This role is vital for supplying the House with income from powerful potions, poisons, elixirs, draughts, etc. for sale. And also for use during rituals/ceremonies, personal use, and defense.Β
Scribe
The scribe is typically a skilled practitioner who writes spell scrolls, grimoires, house histories, ritual books, and philosophies of the House as dictated by the Matron/Patron.Β
Weaponmasters
This is typically where Oathbreaker Paladins fall in the hierarchy of the House after they have completed the vetting process in which their level and skillset are carefully examined. Some of the Exiles will also fall into this category if they are of a melee or fighting class (like rogues, rangers, fighters, barbarians, etc.) and will be vetted in a similar, but more vigorous, way as the Oathbreakers. This group is intended to defend and protect the House. They are typically sent to keep tabs on Lolthsworn raids, exterminate any that get too close, and alert the House of any potential threats.Β
Intermediate Practitioners
Typically the second, and below, daughters and sons. They participate in rituals under the supervision of the High Sorceress and Arch Mage. They follow the High Sorceress and Arch Mage in their duties, helping wherever necessary, and participate in research and outreach. The highest skilled intermediate practitioners will frequently be sent out to support the Weaponmasters.Β
Novices
Youngest/Newest members with a great deal to learn. Typically the Novices are in a mentor/mentee relationship with the retirees of the House. They help to gather necessities for rituals/ceremonies, and observe research. Their focus is their craft. Many are assigned a length of time (days, weeks, sometimes months) to dedicate to a particular part of their craft. Mastery of basic skills and spells are their priority.Β
I plan to dive deeper to the agenda and history of House Auvryndar as well as the implications of being based in Skullport in separate posts. Iβd also love to talk about their practices, internal conflicts, and general House Happenings but this is enough for now.
If you read the whole thing: Hi! I love you! Thanks for reading! π€
DEBAUCHERY EDITION (Credits to @thesanguinesonnet)
Thanks for the tag @eliwyntorleth! Here's Eliwyn's post and the OG post. I am way late to the party with this but I still wanted to answer these!
Itβs too late for me to tag people but the OP has requested to be tagged and credited if you participate.
I'll admit, this will be a lot less sexy than some of the ones I've read lol
Whatβs an idea, dynamic, or trope in your current work that feels naughty or self-indulgent? (Spicy answers 100% encouraged.)
Definitely the whole vampire x mortal biting/bloodplay type stuff.
Is your OC a virgin, a blushing maiden, or sexual fiend? Or aro/ace? Or something in between?
Olorna is demi. So sex is not something that on her mind unless she feels emotionally connected to someone, and even then she's pretty shy about it at first. It takes her a long time to get comfy with it. (So when Astarion wants to stop doing that for a while she has absolutely no reservations about it.)
Whatβs your OCβs βI shouldnβt be turned on by thisβ trigger?
Olorna doesn't really get turned on by things, and we she does it's usually something about her partner. I guess the best answer for this, for Olorna, would be Astarion's fangs lol and when he puts 'em in her neck haha.
What is your OCβs hard NO?
Once Olorna has fully opened up and gotten completely comfortable with the idea of sex, I'd say she's pretty open minded except for anything that might be too painful/abrasive/restrictive or NC. It would be to triggering for her.
What is the most debauched VP/artwork you have ever created?
I love smacking my barbies together π
Do you have any crazy projects for the future?
Yes! I have a very gorey art piece in the works of the scene where Olorna murders her abusive husband. I really hope I can that to a point where I'm comfortable posting a WIP of it. I'm using it for posing practice so there's like 4 different versions of it right now!

Tagged by @cunthulhu-xo to do this (go check out her post about Olorna) - figured it would be fun to try with Fuse! The prompt is to type [your Ocβs name] + core into the search bar on Pinterest, and grab the first 6 images that come up to see kinda what Pinterest thinks is your OCβs aesthetic!
Hereβs Fuse-core:
Itβs very mechanical - which is a very fun and interesting take on him, but given that heβs an experiment, and his name, I think it makes sense that Pinterest would associate machinery with him. Very fun!

I absolutely love the results. Very fitting for my witchy, creepy girl! I was super excited when I saw this tag! Literally ran to Pinterest hehe Iβll frequently reblog stuff tagged as βolorna coreβ if something fits her vibe or looks like something sheβd wear.
I had to take some extra time to find non-AI assisted/generated results :( in the initial search the first 6 were all AI and ads, so this isnβt the first 6 but theyβre a compilation of the first results excluding AI and Ads/sponsored pins.
Thank you @cunthulhu-xo for the tag! I just love to be given a yap pass

Sibyl Silverlamb π―οΈπ
Sooo, she's only been Sibyl for a while - being the Dark Urge, I think she would only remember or choose a short first name right out of the pod.
She was a very different character initially. I spent a lot of time imagining and writing her before even starting the run β I actually started to write a post about all the changes the character went through physically/narratively/psychologically (it's a heinous, long ass WIP), among other things because she started out as a Death Cleric of Kelemvor High Elf Tav and ended up as a Life Cleric / Devotion Paladin of Ilmater Half Elf Dark Urge and had looots of rewriting β anyway, I wanted a witchy name for that formerly goth death cleric and listed a few that sounded good, Sibyl among them.
My first concern was to find a name that I liked, that sounded nice, fit her face and vibe. The meatier name analysis came more or less retroactively but I'm glad it ended up working so well, even if I hadn't planned it all.
Her name quite literally is a religious profession. I have a great passion for Ancient Greece and the ancient sibyls (oracles) having a direct connection to the divine is perfectly fitting for a formerly Bhaalist / Ilmater converted cleric (with a special connection to both β as in, more than a simple cleric) β she is at core a deeply pious and devoted character, almost semi-godly herself as Bhaalβs flesh and blood. The derived adjective βsibyllineβ meaning enigmatic, mysterious is also appropriate for the deeply ambivalent char. that is redeemed durge.Β
Silverlamb is a very recent find and perhaps not a definitive one (I wasnβt entirely satisfied, although itβs growing on me) β I had been wanting to find her a last name (one that she would choose herself post-game, to start her new life with a proper identity) but I had no rush until I wanted to make her in the Sims last month.Β
I wanted something that both sounded good and was meaningful. I like the βword+wordβ, 3-4 syllables construct (idk itβs really giving medieval fantasy!! β¨π§), so I listed a bunch of things that felt like her new self and started mixing/matching them (gold, silver, sun, dawn, light, bright, heart, cure, cloth β crow, raven, sheep, lamb, sage β corvus, miseria, gloria, magis β at some point I was so desperate Ancient Greek and Latin roots were thrown into the mix).Β
In the end, a fair amount of her writing and aesthetics rely (loosely) on catholicism so that felt important to tap into. She is nowhere near as pure and innocent as a lamb but she wishes she was β the chosen last name emphasizes her rebirth (and it helps that she's good at mental gymnastics and can be highly hypocritical). And while gold/golden as a colour suits her more, βsilverβ as a prefix had the elven touch as well as an alliteration that I liked. So Silverlamb pretty much had everything I was looking for in her last name!
If you made it so far, here's some love for my poor, abandoned OCs (Sibyl truly is the darling child):
Fern: a simple, sharp sound (the English word is softer, but I pronounce it \fΙΚn\) and a plant name for a blunt Wood-Elf that grew up in the forest without a last name.
Ghuan: drowic prefix for βaccursed, unluckyβ for a severely depressed Dark Urge β the first word to come to his mind to describe himself when he wakes up; and only a prefix because of how broken and incomplete he feels.
Marian Morningstar: a necromancer named after the song by Sisters of Mercy β Morningstar as in, the weapon, to give her a threatening dwarven last name (the Lucifer ref was incidental and a bit too on the nose to my taste for an evil character but... the scrumptious alliteration...)
My question about OC name meanings is making the rounds and I am literally kicking my feet reading these. So many beautiful names with heartfelt and interesting meanings! You guys are SO creative! π€
Eliwynβs name comes primarily from my absolute favorite FMC who very much inspired the creation of Eliwynβs characterβone Elinor Dashwood, from Sense and Sensibility. The first part of Eliwynβs name is a direct homage to Elinor.
As for the ending, I chose β-wynβ because, at the time of creating Eliwyn, I had not yet completely dived into the lore of Forgotten Realms. I knew only that FR elves had been very much inspired by Tolkien and that Tolkien based much of his elven dialects on the Finnish and Welsh languages. I didnβt find a Finnish name that fit, so I took β-wynβ from the Welsh naming convention. In Welsh, βEliβ means balm/salve/remedy (what a fitting and happy accident!) and βwynβ means white.
However, I recently discovered a table in a DND book to create an elven name. Imagine my most glad surprise to see that Eliwyn is in fact a conceivable elven name! In elvish her name would mean βblueβ (Eli-) and βmusicianβ (-wyn). Another very happy accident!
Her last name just came from Fantasy Name Generator π

He was named by his horrific birth mother who left his twin brother to die on the streets. Fanden actually means "devil" in Norwegian.
However, in my universe, it means the same thing. She wanted something "unique."
Funny enough, Fanden was ORIGINALLY an embrace dark urge in game, but I got too attached to him and wanted him to move away from ALL the trauma he endured. So, he's just a regular tav now (I completely rewrote his lore), but I kept the name because there is just so much behind it.
Fanden was actually my very first DnD character who started off as a ranger. His name goes way back and I love him.
Kairon:
His name is actually infernal, and his last name Gehenna is derived from biblical texts, meaning "hell" or a place of divine punishment.
Honestly there isn't too much behind his name other than the fact it really goes together.
Emmy:
She's actually my self insert! Yes, my name is Emmy π€£ She represents the hyper, happy, chaotic version of my younger self. She's actually a year younger than me but immortal, and will forever be that age. (She won't age past 30). Anyway, her name means a lot because she is a reflection of me in a different light, living the life I've always wanted to live. Immortal, full of magic, and protected by older brothers who love her more than the world.
Her real full name is Emmaline Claire Gortash (but now Emmy Gehenna, since she's married to Kairon and she prefers her shortened first name).
Her name has a story, and that story is a life I wish I could live.
Therran:
I actually made up his name. I wanted something to do with "thermal," and sort of go with Fanden's name in a way. Then it clicked: Therran. It's unique. Plus, he's a barbarian. Thermal + barbarian = Therran!
There isn't much of a history to his name other than that. But I love it. It's neat. ππ»ββοΈ
Thank you @unovafarm for the tag! [post] β€οΈβ¨ Such a beautiful name for a beautiful OC! I recommend everyone to have a read.
For Briar, the meaning is straightforward. She is a forest child β a wild thorn bush that grows where it pleases, protective yet capable of bearing sweet fruit. Though the name veers toward the stereotypical, I was inspired by my own childhood memories
Before I was old enough for school, my grandparents lived in a house they had built into the side of a hill. The basement, which functioned like a second floor, was only accessible walking down the slope. The main house extended over this pass with a balcony, forming a secluded little alcove. There, they cultivated a sprawling blackberry bush. Every season it fruited we would harvest the berries by the bowl. They had also hung a small swing beneath the overhang. I fondly remember idling the hours away on it, and sneaking berries from the nearest vines.
Briar embodies the part of me that delights in the natural world. The cresting waterfalls, the bright song of birds, and the crisp breath of mountain air in the early morning. Unlike me, she is far more open and unreserved in expressing that love and care. Her name reflects that.
She doesn't have a family name at present. In fact, it suits her better to be without.
I discussed this topic a few months back for Lynette here , but it is outdated & lacking the depth it deserves. I'll fix it up someday, maybe when I do a masterpost.
