Preparing for war (a confrontational email) with a reputable enemy (my old high school teacher/principal and my bestie's current boss) that hath yet to be slain by the many brave warriors (students) that have marched into battle with her (attended the school). Reminder that, while it is nice/heartwarming to see, celebrities do not owe you activism. Their responsibility is to themselves and their art form. Anything else is extra. Criticising someone online as opposed to an open letter directly addressed to them asking if they would consider lending a hand are 2 completely different things and I think we all know which one is entitlement rearing its ugly head.
I am not saying that it is not important for people with major platforms to use them for humanitarian or human rights causes and to uplift the oppressed. I am saying, they're more likely to do so when we treat them like human beings.
You would encourage your friends to participate in awareness and activism, right? You wouldn't just demand that they do more or tell them they're not doing enough and then neglect to elaborate, right?
We send in letters to representatives and council members. We should afford the same respect and consideration to celebrities because they are humans and we can be cordial at the very least.

Today we work, tomorrow we study (x2 plus a lecture)... Thus is endless cycle of the part-time student.
No but actually I am not doing enough and life is too easy so next semester I'm taking an extra class, joining the university newspaper team, and joining a writing club. (I also intend to have my book published before the end of this semester at which point I will have an AA in English Literature and Communications). I am running on anxiety and caffeine (a truly dynamic duo). I am also 21. Yes, I am a very academic validation/anxiety fueled person. Yes, I also believe that I am not doing enough. Future me will thank me for doing more now rather than later. I am also trying to finish a 400+ page book that I started yesterday by the end of this week. It's Monday. Wish me luck and low enough stress levels that my cortisol riddled being doesn't croak on the spot! 😁 (I'm fine) .

I'm the type of girl who will drive across town to braid her best friend's hair because she asked.
(I will take any excuse to see my bestie and if that's the request of a couple Dutch braids for a water event chaperone day then so be it. I still get to see my bestie! This is not me going out of my way; this is me jumping at the chance to do an activity I love.)
You could always read a lot and focus on creative interests that fulfill you and peaceful nights in with your best friend in your 20s! Or you could be wild in your 20s. That's cool too.
