I wasn’t sure about Melvik at first. I love being a multishipper, but i just couldn’t find myself enjoying their dynamic. But i kept seeing cute art of them, and maljayvik as a ship seemed cute! But i like my polycules not with an anchor, (Jayce) but as a soup of love. ;) So there was only one thing to do, figure out the melvik dynamic. 

And oh boy did I find one. And now I can’t stop thinking about them. I even came up with an entire fan fic plot line, but I will reserve that for another post. This post is going to be just me detailing the dynamic that made me fall for this beautiful ship. 

One word brings Mel and Viktor together, and neither expected to be so affected by it. Power. But also brilliance. Mel has vast political knowledge, and Viktor is an inventor and problem solver. I can see it so clearly. Let me paint you a picture. Mel detailing some political plan to Viktor, her voice low, the world dark outside. Viktor is seeing every detail she’s not saying aloud and noticing all the genius of it. He’s struck by how smart it is and this interest and awe is coming out as lust. He is from the under city, he sees the strength that comes from power, and it excites him. In reply, he details some extra bit towards their goal, on how to push it further, or avoid some pit fall. Mel feels seen, someone has understood her whole plot, Mel is also struck by how smart the reply was. Viktor’s intelligence is razor sharp. They are both left in lustful silence, turning ideas over in their head about control and power, and how to get ahead with the other by their side. 

Viktor has an evil side, that scared little kid that knows he has to fight for what he wants. That he has to scheme and manipulate to get ahead, Mel brings out that side and validates it, makes it feel less evil and more dangerous. It feels like electricity. Mel finds in Viktor, an equal, even someone superior at times. Getting a glimpse into that lighting mind, it does something to her.
