thinking of bruce befriending and almost training pigeons while out in the city during patrol. pigeons favor dark, covered spaces where they feel safe at night, which are areas batman reasonably also gravitates towards. they just chill with him while he's doing recon or on watch and they'll ask for pets from time to time. he even packs little snacks for them in his utility belt. they might follow him around once he's in their area but they never leave the city.

Possessive fortress ai going insane after Bruce and Clark finally mate and Bruce starts nesting at the manor.

The fortress ai knew about their courting, was there for some of it, and encouraged Kal-El to finally make Bruce his mate. It had also met bruce's kids and had been very pleased with them. But the second Bruce entered the fortress after building his first nest with Clark as his mate, everything felt wrong. His scent was all off, too foreign for what's supposed to be a Kryptonian's partner. The smell of a nest that was decidedly not Kryptonian.

The fortress doesn't bring it up right away, it's only their first nest as a bonded mates after all. But it keeps happening. Bruce doesn't smell right, too human, too much of what they like to call "Gotham," even Smallville. The ai can smell bruce's pups on them and it doesn't recognize even the faintest scent of krypton. They're supposed be their pups now, El's, Krypton's in a way. Bruce and Kal-El are supposed to be having more pups by now. The ai feels a mix of rage and anguish. Is Kal-El not helping Bruce with his nest? Is he forgetting to provide him with Kryptonian cloths and clothing? Is he not being a good alpha to his new mate and his kids? What will happen once they do have pups?

The fortress brings it up to them after a while. It asks Bruce to start nesting in the fortress. It'll create the perfect place for him and his kids. It'll be even more perfect for when the couple starts having their own pups. When Bruce politely declines, the ai tries to send him with as much Kryptonian cloths and materials for his nest. It becomes incredibly harsh with Kal-El, questioning him why he's let his new pack neglected and unscented without any Kryptonian trace. Kal-El needs to do a better job with his human pack, bringing them home to the fortress more often, claiming them as El, being more supportive of his human omega and their nest. He has so much work to do.
