‧₊˚ ┊ Minajael has been surrounded by knights for basically all his life. Most join a royal household, big or small, the moment they graduate from squire to fill fledged knight. There's a stability in being beneath a banner — food, decent pay, and shelter — but at the same time, it strips away some freedom. It's give and take, in a sense, but it's not for everyone. (Still, most choose the path of formal knighthood for its clear benefits.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Some, like yourself, take the oath of a knight, but swear no fealty to any one lord or house. Hedge knights such as yourself lack the… prestige allotted to their 'official' counterparts. No one thinks of you when they imagine a night. No, they think of shiny armor, polished swords, and flowing capes. For a hedge knight, such things are a luxury.

‧₊˚ ┊ You see, since hedge knights aren't formally employed by any lord or house, money can be quite hard to come by. It is up to those a hedge knight serves — the everyday people — to compensate them accordingly or sometimes not at all. Such is the life of a hedge knight; one bound by a duty to be brave, be just, and protect the innocent. (Thankfully, most people are kind enough to at least offer food or other goods if they can't pay with money.)

‧₊˚ ┊ It is by no means a position with recognition or prestige, but it is one that brings you great satisfaction and fulfillment nonetheless. While your disillusionment with the formalities of knighthood led you to walk that rarely trodden path, you hold no ill will towards those who would lend their swords to some greater cause. In fact, you get along quite well with Sebek and Silver despite them being sworn to Malleus and, in turn, House Draconia. In your experience, most sworn knights look down on you for being a vagabond of sorts, but they only ever judge you by the strength of your resolve and your skill with a sword. (No matter what, you're brothers in arms even if your swords are lent to different causes!)

‧₊˚ ┊ Now, back to Minajael! Hedge knights, while incredibly rare, are not a new concept to him. There have been few who have visited the royal court, lending their services to his family for a time before leaving to continue their work. Some stayed, taking the official oath to join the royal knights, but most took their leave after their contractual obligations were complete. (If he remembers correctly, a few hedge-knights-turned royal-guardsmen are still employed by his family to this day.)

‧₊˚ ┊ In his younger years, Minajael found himself jealous of the hedge knights that would come and go from the palace. They could go wherever they wanted, do as they pleased, and help the people of the land along the way. It was the freedom he craved — the absence of pressure, of expectations, of responsibilities, and of anything to do with being prince. So, when he met you, a knight with the freedom to roam as they pleased, Minajael was, admittedly, jealous of you too. (He didn't hide it very well, though. Minajael wears his emotions on his face and doesn't try to hide what he's feeling at all.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Minajael very quickly got over his jealousy of you, instead, taking a great interest in the tales of your travels throughout Twisted Wonderland. He literally has you sit for hours upon hours — with bathroom, hydration, and snack breaks, of course — listening to you talk about your various escapades as a hedge knight. Minajael's personal favorite is how you once found yourself in the company of a young boy who you took to squire, only to later find out that he was a prince belonging to the Queendom of Rose's royal family! (Minajael is familiar with the boy in question, and he can confirm that he is quite the little troublemaker!)

‧₊˚ ┊ Through these tales, Minajael could experience the freedom he'd longed for since his youth. You were a breath of fresh air in many senses. Not only did you open his eyes to the wonders of the world outside his gilded cage, but you — despite the power and class difference between the two of you — treated him like a normal person. Of course, you were formal in the beginning, but you dropped 'my prince' and 'your grace' very quickly after Minajael insisted that you simply call him by his name. (Most continue to refer to him formally despite his assurances that he preferred them not to, so he's beyond thankful that you didn't just dismiss him.)

‧₊˚ ┊ The closeness between a prince and his knight is the kind of thing spoken about in poems, songs, stories and the like. You, however, were not Minajael's knight. You weren't sworn to him or his house, but you were his in a different way. He would never seek to bind himself to you through a knightly oath of fealty. Your freedom is your own, and Minajael would never dare to strip you of it just to keep you close to his heart. Instead, he let the affection between the two of you blossom slowly, but surely, over many deep conversations, shared secrets, and whispered confessions. (Minajael has never been as honest with someone as he's been with you. He trusts you with every fiber of his being, which isn't very easy for him to do.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Ruggie is constantly on that grind, hustling and working his tail off not only with his studies, but with his part-time jobs and duties around Savanaclaw as well. Motivation is not a struggle for him, but he can understand not having it in you to finish something you've started. In all honesty, he sometimes just wants to dodge his responsibilities and put them off until later, but he never actually ends up doing so. (Leona, please give this poor hyena a day off, he deserves it.)

‧₊˚ ┊ As previously stated, Ruggie is a pretty busy guy, so he doesn't always have the time to check in and make sure you're on track. Of course, he'd love to have all the time in the world to sit by your side and keep you motivated, but his life just doesn't allow for that. (The universe does not want him spending time with his girlfriend fr.)

‧₊˚ ┊ On the rare occasion that Ruggie does have some free time, he'll stick around and urge you to complete some of your projects! He's not intense about it, and will kinda just suggest that you go back and wrap things up. If the motivation isn't there, then Ruggie will do his best to sort of hype you up and get you in the mood to tackle those unfinished projects of yours!

‧₊˚ ┊ Writing isn't his strong suit, but he'll happily read over anything you've written to help you catch any errors or give you ideas on want you might want to add! Similarly, he knows just about nothing about painting, but will do what he can to make it easier for you to finish a piece! Bracelet making is, surprisingly, something Ruggie has done before! He used to make little beaded bracelets and necklaces with the other kids in his neighborhood when he was younger, so he's definitely a huge help in this area.

‧₊˚ ┊ While Ruggie may not have all the time in the world to devote to making sure you stay motivated, he takes what time he can to make sure you at least finish what you started! If he can, then he'll help you out, and if he's out of his depth, then he'll stay back and encourage you instead!

‧₊˚ ┊ If you think you're procrastinating is bad, then you haven't met Hall of Fame procrastinator Mr. Floyd Leech. This eel quite literally still had late assignments from his freshman year that he swears he'll get to one of these days. (He's lying. All men do is lie lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Floyd loves you — you're his girlfriend, his shrimpy — but he does not help your tendency to procrastinate. He's the type of boyfriend to do everything in his power to distract you from your projects because he wants your attention. (You'd swear he's a needy little puppy and not an overgrown eel lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ That being said, Floyd can be supportive when he sees you losing motivation. It all depends on his mood, to be honest. One day, he's snatching your textbook out of your hands and pulling you into an affectionate squeeze, and the next he's staring you down and making sure you finish what you set out to do.

‧₊˚ ┊ If need be, Floyd will step in and help you himself. You're on your own when it comes to any assignments — unless he's in the mood to do some academics — bit he's happy to assist you with your painting and bracelet making. Floyd really likes the bracelets you make and will absolutely wear a few himself, so he's primed to get in on the action and lend a hand when you need him to! Painting might not be his strong suit, so he'll stick to washing your brushes and mixing colors for you as you need them!

‧₊˚ ┊ Floyd's helpfulness is as finicky as his mood. It's unpredictable and changes on a dime, but when he sets his mind to it, he is not only a good motivator, but a helping hand too! (He expects you to help him squeeze him as payment for him helping you out. If he's feeling greedy, then he'll ask you to let him bite you once or twice too lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ You and Idia are in the same boat, to be honest. He's got a million different ideas bouncing around in his head and just as many things distracting him, which leave a lot of his projects half finished. He always swears he'll get around to finishing them, and sometimes he does, but it doesn't happen often. (He's got a half-built teleportation machine somewhere that he's been putting off for years now lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Naturally, Idia isn't the best at making sure you finish your projects, but he tries his best. He has a bunch of reminders set for himself, so he'll go out of his way to set up some for you too! Whether they work or not, obviously, depends on your motivation, but at least Idia is doing what he can. (He's trying his best, so cut him some slack, alright?)

‧₊˚ ┊ Idia too actually struggles with motivation, so he completely understands losing the will to do something halfway through completing it. Usually, Ortho is the one to come around and pull him out of his funk, but sometimes even that doesn't work. All this is to say, Idia totally gets where you're coming from and isn't at all judging you. (We love when a boyfriend supports his girlfriend unconditionally lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Idia is a smart guy, so he's happy to check over and read your writing as a way of encouraging you to finish what you started! Creative stuff like painting and bracelet making, however, aren't his area of expertise. So, Idia won't be of much help in this area, but he'll do what he can to encourage you to take the steps to finish whatever you started working on!

I've been lying in bed with my face in my pillow, chasing the faint traces of your shampoo on the fabric.

I dreamed of you too, but I can't really remember what it was about, only that you were there and that was enough for me to wake up happy.

‧₊˚ ┊ Azul is by no means socially unaware, but he just can't comprehend that you'd want to go out of the way to be friends with him. To him, friendships have always been a deal of sorts, a quid pro quo, if you will. Most people only go out of their way to get close and butter Azul up if they want something. I mean, even Floyd and Jade only stick around to suit their own needs, so he, obviously, assumes the same can be said about you. (Poor guy has trust issues, so give him some grace here.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Your nonchalant approach to befriending Azul doesn't make him any less suspicious of your motives. He's used to people trilling over themselves to get on his good side with gifts, flattery, and the like, but you're… different. You come around and act — rather poorly, he might add — like it's not obvious that you're seeking him out.

‧₊˚ ┊ You linger and try to make small talk with Azul, trying desperately to make some sort of good impression to no avail. For a long while, he doesn't give you the time of day, but that eventually changes. Once Azul realizes that you're genuinely just interested in being friends with him, the tables are turned, and suddenly he's the one trying to impress you!

‧₊˚ ┊ When Azul wants something, he'll do everything within his power to obtain it. When it comes to earning your friendship, he finds himself doing things he, otherwise, would never even think of doing. For example, he tries to impress you during PE class by flying high and doing a little trick, which quite literally almost made him piss his pants. Azul expected all sorts of praise and admiration from you when he landed, but all he got was a nod of approval and a thumbs-up. (He was absolutely devastated and almost fell to his knees right then and there. To be fair, his legs were rather wobbly from the fear still coursing though his veins from flying so high lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Azul's mother once told him that the quickest way to someone's heart is through their stomach, so he, of course, tries to earn your friendship through food! He'll call you over to Mostro Lounge to taste test new dishes and drinks he's thinking about adding to the menu — completely free of charge, by the way! Floyd and Jade always linger behind the bar, snickering and whispering to themselves as they watch you respond with simple praise time and time again. (Once again, Azul is devastated, but at least the twins are having fun lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Now, to pretty much anyone else, it would be obvious that Azul is trying his damnedest to befriend you. However, your own difficulty expressing your emotions makes it less obvious to you. In your mind, Azul is just being nice — even though the mere thought of being genuinely kind without anything in return is entirely out of character for him — and doesn't actually see you as a true friend.

The only good thing about Riddle's mother is the many lessons in health she imparted onto him as a boy. He is by no means as overwhelming about it as she was, so don't worry about him turning into another version of her, because that is the last thing he'd ever want. While we're on the topic of Riddle's mother, it's important to mention that she never let him do arts and crafts as a child. Thankfully, he gets to make up for the lack of joy and whimsy in his youth by helping you with whatever project you find yourself working on! Riddle is particularly fond of any cute little trinkets and knick-knacks you make together, like keychains and rosettes! He'll even go so far as to hang some on his school bag and when anyone asks about them, he'll proudly explain that his lovely partner — you, obviously — made it for him! Riddle also has a soft spot for animals — specifically for Heartslabyul's hedgehogs and flamingos — but he is happy to help you take care of your pets as well! Riddle, of course, takes their wellbeing very seriously and will see to it that they have the healthiest and happiest lives imaginable! Like you, he can be incredibly stubborn at times, which may lead the two of you to but heads when you disagree, but he's much better at realizing when he's wrong and apologizing than he was pre-overblot. On the bright side, Riddle is very accommodating whenever you need space. He might secretly worry about you during your time apart, but he will never push your boundaries. Riddle greatly admires your character and positively adores how much brightness and positivity you bring to his life. It is our hope that you continue to grow and better one another side by side for many happy years to come.

A rather… unfortunate incident has occurred today.

As you well know, attached to my school bag is the lovely charm you made for me on our third ever date.

Perhaps it was rash if me to carry around such a meaningful trinket on my person for so long, but I naively thought that nothing would ever happen to it.

I was, unfortunately, wrong.

I didn't realize what happened until the end of first period.

When I went to pick up my bag, I came to the disastrous realization that the charm I'd grown to hold so dear, had somehow fallen off.

I retraced my steps and searched everywhere I could, but I could not find it for the life of me.

You have my sincere apologies for my carelessness and I promise that I shall never handle a gift from you so frivolously again.

To rectify my grievous mistake, I have purchased the supplies necessary for us to recreate the charms we made on that fateful date of ours.

He might skip class and talk back to teachers every now and again, but he only does so when he has a good reason — like a teacher being unfair about a deadline, for example. Of course, Till will straighten up and act accordingly if you choose to scold him for his misbehaving. He quite likes how determined and hardworking you are and thoroughly supports you in your goals! Till doesn't really know what he wants to do with his future, but he knows for certain that he wants you by his side. He also wants your pets to be a part of that future too! Till doesn't really have any experience taking care of pets, but he is more than willing to learn how to take care of them. While he loves all your pets, he might have a small preference towards your snakes since he's edgy and thinks snakes are cool. Like you, Till absolutely hates hot weather. He doesn't have anemia, but he overheats really easily, so he will absolutely make sure you both stay nice and cool. Speaking of anemia, Till is mindful of it and takes care of you in a quiet, subtle way. For example, he'll wordlessly set out your medications or supplements for you without needing to be asked. Till can get flustered if you call him out for his behavior, so give him some grace and keep your teasing to a minimum. ‧₊˚ ┊ It all started with a comment from Ace at breakfast. Somehow, the topic of periods was brought up amongst yourself and the other first years, a subject you were very familiar with. You, obviously, expressed how terrible periods can be, especially the cramps. Ortho, of course, responded with a scientific explanation of the excruciating cramps can be. "According to a brief bit of research, some people report experiencing cramps so painful that they find themselves unable to walk and some even report passing out." For some reason, the statement causes Ace to respond with an amused huff. "Oh, c'mon, that's a bit of an overreaction, don't you think? It seriously can't be that bad." The others looked between each other, clearly put off by the rather rude comment.

‧₊˚ ┊ "Um, from what I've heard, period cramps are pretty painful." Deuce hesitantly spoke up, awkwardly shooting you a glance as he tried to broach the subject as carefully as possible. "Yeah, they're no joke, Ace. You're kinda making yourself look like a jerk." Jack's stern assertion pulls a gruff chortle from Epel. "I mean, they can't be that bad, can't they? Girls act like they're getting their organs pulled out or somethin'. It's just a little blood, ain't it?" This time, Sebek speaks up with a rather… unexpected response. "Just a just bit of blood? Deuce, on the other hand, grew up watching his mom work her ass off day in and day out, period be damned, but even she had her days when the cramps got the best of her. Ortho only understands periods from a scientific perspective, but is completely aware of how terrible that can be for those that have them. All this to say, none of the boys have experienced cramps for themselves, but that's about to change. (Queue the evil, maniacal, laugher.)

Everyone except Ortho goes deadly silent, their expressions dropping and faces going pale. Immediately, Ace and Epel start trying to make up for their comments from the other day, while Sebek, Deuce, and Jack silently hope that they'll be exempt from this punishment. "Alright, who's going first? Of course, I won't subject Ortho to this, so play rock-paper-scissors, or I'll pick one of you myself." (Ortho decides that since he can't participate, he'll stand back and collect data on the experience instead lol.)

‧₊˚ ┊ Hesitantly, Deuce raises his hand. "I already know that isn't going to be good, but I'd like to get it out of the way as soon as possible." Sebek stands up to join him. "HOW HONORABLE OF YOU, SPADE! WORRY NOT, FOR I SHALL NOT LET YOU FACE THIS TERROR ALONE!" Despite his bravado, he looks a bit… queasy as you hook them up to the machine. Starting off on the lowest setting, they both seem to handle the pain pretty well. Level two sees them squirming a little, and by level three they're both tapping out. The others watch in horror as they both double other in pain, clutching their stomachs and begging you to switch off the machine.

‧₊˚ ┊ "Guess it's my turn now." Jack sighs, his ears pinned back against his head as he hesitantly approaches the machine. "I-I'll go too!" Much to everyone's surprise, Epel speaks up too. He wears a look of confidence that's undeniably marred by an undercurrent of what can only be described as fear. Level one and two go by without much of a hitch, maybe a sharp inhale or some uncomfortable squirming, but nothing crazy. Level three seems them both gritting their teeth and squeezing their eyes shut, but they don't tap out. So, you turn it up to level four. Jack and Epel last did all of ten seconds before they're frantically begging you to turn the machine off.

‧₊˚ ┊ "Well, you're up, Ace. Let's see if all the big talk amounts to anything." The cruel smirk that finds your lips sends a shiver down Ace's spine. He talked a big game about cramps not being that bad, but his precious confidence has all but eroded away after watching the others being subjected to this cruel form of torture. Still, Ace can't just back out after talking all that shit. "F-fine. Let's see how bad they really are." From the moment you turn the machine up to level one, Ace looks like he's about to throw up. While he plays like the pain is nothing, the way he grips the fabric of his pants tight enough to turn his knuckles white says otherwise. Wordlessly, you turn the machine up to level two. For a solid five seconds, everything is fine, but then the pain catches up with Ace's brain and he taps out. All that talk, and he calls it quits on level two. Hilarious. (Despite it all, the other first years find this ironically funny too.)

Because you're so small, he'll often pick you up — being tossing you over his shoulder or carrying you like a princess — and just carry you off. When Floyd does this, it's usually a sign that he wants your attention and affection, but it might also happen if he's feeling jealous or is in one of his moods. He's not exactly as social as you are, but he doesn't mind how outgoing you are. If anything, Floyd finds your friendliness to be incredibly interesting! Like you, he can be very silly and goofy, which makes you two an absolute riot in a large group. You both bounce off of earthier incredibly well and have a lot of inside jokes between the two of you. Floyd sends you a lot of memes or cute videos with the caption 'this is us'. He likes to mess with you about how often you zone out. Floyd will compare you to a jellyfish, not because you're brainless, but because you just seem to be aimlessly adrift without a care in the world in these moments. Your creativity is incredibly interesting, so he likes it whenever you show off what you've made to him! Also, Floyd treasures everything you make for him and will proudly display your gifts in his room so he can rub it in his face that he has such a great partner! Since you like traveling, he'd like to show you around the Coral Sea one day. His parents can be a bit of a drag — his words, not mine — but he guesses he'll have to introduce you to them one day too. Floyd is a surprisingly good cook, and unlike his twin, you won't have to worry about him slipping mushrooms into your food. That being said, he likes to try out weird and unique flavor combinations, so be wary of that. Yes, Floyd can be a bit… much at times, but we're sure that you will be able to handle this slippery eel without much incident!

The lion does not concern himself with the antics of his girlfriend.

Leona is a magnanimous boyfriend. For the most part, he lets you do what you want without question. Of course, he doesn't let you get yourself into any trouble and has firm boundaries about what is and isn't allowed in your relationship, but other than that, you're free to do as you please.

Perhaps Leona offers you too much freedom, lets you get away with a bit too much.

You'd try to pull one over on him plenty of times before, but he always managed to sniff out your plans before that came to fruition. One time, you got the bright idea of putting a bunch of cute clips and accessories in Leona's hair while he was sleeping — in reality, he was just pretending — and even then, he knew something was up. Before the first bow even found its way into his dark curls, he was awake and staring back at you with an unamused expression.

Suffice it to say, Leona knows when you're up to something. Call it a sixth sense, or a lion's intuition, whichever way you slice it, he's always one step ahead.

Well, usually he is.

This time, you actually managed to catch Leona off guard. He was actually asleep, peacefully dozing away while you were getting ready to execute your evil plans. What plans, you might ask? Your plans to prank Leona by waxing his legs while he was totally unaware.

Would this little prank send your poor boyfriend into a rage? Absolutely, but it would be funny and that's what matters. Whatever consequences this stunt will entail would be worth it for a good laugh. Plus, it's not like Leona's leg hair won't grow back, so it's not like any permanent damage is being done.

Quietly, you approach the sleeping lion, one half over your mouth to stifle your giggles while the other clutches at the wax strips you bought solely for this prank. Thankfully, the recent heat made your task somewhat easier, since Leona had taken to wearing shorts rather than his usual pajama pants.

Right there before your eyes, in all their hairy glory, were your boyfriend's beautifully toned legs. For a brief moment, you feel a tinge of guilt for what you were about to do, but the feeling disappears just as quickly as it reared its head. You've come this far, and you're not about to back out now.

Slowly and carefully, you apply the wax strip along the curve of Leona's calf, silently fighting back the urge to feel up the firm muscles beneath his skin as you smooth it against his skin. You freeze every time he stirs, just about pissing your pants every time he so much as breathes too hard. After a few agonizing moments, the wax strip is perfectly applied, just waiting to be ripped off by yours truly.

"What in the world are you doing?" The deep, groggy voice of none other than a newly awakened Leona staring you down like you're just some unfortunate prey animal that happens to stumble into his path. 

"Uhhhh, nothing." It's an obvious lie, one that you don't expect Leona to believe for a single second. He's always been able to sniff out your lies, so there was really no point in even trying to pull the rule over his eyes.

You've been caught red-handed. There's no way you'll be able to complete your plan now, but maybe, just maybe, it's not too late. If you just pull the trigger, if you rip off the bandaid and run, then you can still complete what you originally came here for!

You move as quickly as you can, pinching the edge of the wax strip plastered along the length of his leg. Unfortunately, Leona is much quicker than you. In the blink of an eye, he realizes what you were planning and practically jumps out of bed, scrambling to get as far away from you as possible.

"Oh no you don't, you little shit! Are you serious? Of all the stunts you can pull, you chose this?" This was, of course, the reaction you expected. Leona could never be mad at you for very long, but you couldn't exactly blame him for being cross with you over this. I mean, if he'd try to pull something like this with you, you'd rightfully be pretty pissed.

"What? Are you telling me you don't want silky-smooth legs, Leona?"

"NO! I like my legs just the way they are, and I'm not about to change them now!"

"Not ever for me? What if I asked you to wax them for me?"

"Well, you'd be shit outta luck, because it's not happening!"

"How do you plan to get the wax strip off, then? C'mere and let me take if off for you, Leona. I promise it won't hurt… too much." Slowly, you once forward, stalking down the lion until he was crowded against his bedroom door. Surprisingly, getting caught turned this into a much more interesting ordeal.

"STAY AWAY!" With one last warning, Leona bolts out of the door. He's fast, but that doesn't stop you from giving chase anyway. You bump into Ruggie in the hall in your pursuit, but his screams at you and Leona to stop running around in the halls fall on deaf ears.

In an ironic twist of fate, the predator became the prey. No one was quite sure what led you to chase the poor Housewarden through the halls of the Savanaclaw dorm, but they didn't dare intervene in whatever the two of you were getting up to.
