Kanade's mom exits the picture, and she gets mad/sad/frustrated that her father's song that her mom loved so much couldn't save her, so she initially starts to write one that she thinks would've saved her out of spite. Then her Dad goes into that coma so soon after she writes him a song. At that point, Kanade is convinced her music destroys people, and decides to stew in it because she hates it. She hates how she's so good at composing, but her songs destroy people. But she still does it because that's how she feels, and if it destroys everyone else around her then so be it.

Enter Mafuyuu.

Cheerful, peppy, socialable, perfect daughter on her way to becoming a perfect doctor, happy about making her parents happy. She wholeheartedly believes that she likes this, she wants this, and that this is simply her identity. Then she finds Kanade's music, and is suddenly hit with that crushing realization that she's wrong. It makes her feel like her situation is actually terrible. Kanade's music doesn't destroy people, it makes them aware of their (already existing) negative emotions. Mafuyu had become aware of her negative emotions. But she still doesn't understand why, so that's what draws her into Discord at 9am. She writes the lyrics to Kanade's music hoping to express the feelings she's never felt before.
