I miss writing 💔
I’m rewatching “I Love Lucy” and I don’t understand how the Ricardo’s apartment complex works. The Ricardo’s have two doors, a front door and a side door, but they have downstairs neighbors, hence why it’s an apartment. I’ve seen images of the layout of the apartment but that’s not where my confusion lies. Instead, it’s within the building as Metz’s go in and out through both doors which indicates the side and back doors go into the hallway of the complex. Not only that, but Lucy and Ethel go down somewhere where it seems to be a shared space (where the furnace and their meat freezer are), but only between the two couples as we never see any indication of others there.
I have no idea if this makes sense but their apartment complex confuses me

Posting this for a friend since he kinda asked me to post on Reddit and Reddit decided this post wasn’t good enough but my friend wants to know the fandom’s thoughts on this:
In “Bad With Us” Vox starts his part by saying “So I’ve had a stroke of luck, it’s true…” which is incredibly interesting considering how much Alastor goads him about being incompetent on his own and needing the other Vees to maintain the power he holds.
You’d think that, instead of calling it “luck,” Vox would talk about how hard he worked to get to the point that he’s at, not that he simply had a bit of good karma. Character-wise, that one line seems slightly off compared to everything else we see.
Both my friend and I would love to hear your thoughts on why the decision for this line was made, theories you have about it, etc!
My read is because he’s not being sincere in the slightest in that moment. He’s hardcore humblebragging, diminishing his own role in the achievement in order to solicit more praise for it and seem more relatable/approachable to those whose favor he’s courting—kind of a “it happened to me, it can happen to you too! So you should join me!”
That and it fits the tune of the song.
It just feels off to me and my friend :,)
But at first I also told him “it rhythms gooder than ‘I worked hard for this, it’s true’” or something lmao”
Everyone says it's 'Humblebrag' but it's actually kind of consistent. Like you'd think someone like him would spin "he almost beat you" into "Actually it was a draw" or even "I technically won" but he doesn't. I don't think he ever denies being dependent on the Vees. Part of the reason Alastor trolls him so well is that instead of just deflecting his critiques, Vox feels the need to show that he's wrong.
Also Humblebrag is more "I was blessed (god/the universe likes me more than you)" than "I got lucky".

I completely agree. To me, personally, it doesn’t feel like a humble brag, it just feels… out of character? Vox is a narcissistic individual and doesn’t particularly like that Alastor keeps telling him that the Vees are the only reason he’s successful.
Vox isn’t humble, he likes attention, he likes bragging, so having him blame his success on luck rather than work just seems odd to me 🤷♀️
