Hear me out about his hero name
Okay, so I wanna talk about his original ideas for his hero name first. They were King Explosion Murder (爆殺王) and Lord Explosion Murder (爆殺卿). The japanese pronunciation of those are Bakusatsuou and Bakusatsukyou respectively.
The first kanji, 爆 (baku), relates to bomb/explosion, and it's also the same kanji used in his name, 爆豪 (Bakugou).
The second kanji, 殺 (satsu), relates to murder/killing. (Ex: 殺人 (satsujin) is the full word for murder).
The pun here is when they're put together. "Bakusatsu" is a play on "bakuhatsu" which is the full word for explosion.
The third kanji is the one that causes the change between King and Lord. They are 王 (ou) and 卿 (kyou) respectively. They're different words, but they both denote some sense of royalty.
Hence, King/Lord Explosion Murder.
I bring this up because his hero name, as officially revealed in ch 293, is this: 大爆殺神 ダイナマイト. (Btw these are legit two whole ass names, so I'm assuming the first part is the introductory part while the second part is the actual hero name, the same way Recovery Girl is actually Youthful Heroine: Recovery Girl).
Anyway, I digress. Here's my point!
大爆殺神 ダイナマイト is pronounced Daibakusatsushin Dainamaito (aka Dynamite/Dynamight). But look! Look at 大爆殺神!! Recognize the two kanji in the middle? They're the same two kanji from King/Lord Explosion Murder! Baku (爆) and satsu (殺)! And then he upgraded the original third kanji from royalty (王/卿) all the way to divinity cuz 神 (shin) means god, and then he added 大 (dai) to the beginning, which means great. (In case his awesomeness wasn't clear enough already).
Anyway idk why I just wrote a whole ass essay to point out that he kept the kanji from his original hero name ideas, but I noticed it and it made me emotional because he got attached to his original punny kanji and I love him for it.
Happy day of birth to Great Explosion Murder God: Dynamight.
[Edit: Y'all see it without me pointing it out, but since it's a post about him coming up with his hero name, I should at least mention that he took the 'maito' part from All Might (Ooru Maito -> Dainamaito)].
