I've spent a lot of my time on tumblr today not reading past the first paragraph of posts about the finale. I didn't feel strongly about it one way or the other and frankly I don't need to read anyone convincing me to go one way or the other. I only ever watched s2 a bare handful of times and wandered out of the fandom for the most part not long after it came out. anything past s1 never felt like real canon to me so I'm just not here to take any of it too seriously. I'll take what Terry gave us and the season of the show based on that and the rest is just very fancy fanfiction.
yeah I enjoyed it pretty well. yeah it had some issues. but yeah in my case it's extremely tenuously canon in the first place so I'm not here to make a fuss in either direction about it.

i love the specific type of relationship aziraphale and crowley have in the book. it pretty explicitly says that the 11 years they raise warlock together is consistently spent going on dates, and by year 11 aziraphale seems so caught up in the dating that heβs not even thinking about armageddon anymore.
crowleyβs pacing around an art museum, caught in a mild anxiety spiral rambling about how the boyβs too normal and the hell hound and warlockβs birthday party etc etc, meanwhile aziraphale is just sitting there sipping wine.
βAre you going to be there?β asked the angel, nonchalantly.
nonchalantly???? absolutely ridiculous adverb. i love it. because either heβs trying to act like heβs barely interested in crowley being at the party when he very much isβthatβs all heβs been thinking about actually, he canβt stop thinking about it, wondering what dashing little outfit crowleyβs going to wearβor heβs being genuinely nonchalant about the actual topic of discussion, which happens to be armageddon. because in that moment, he cares more about going to an event with crowley than the end of the world. both options are incredibly gay.
not to mention that literally two pages later a kid calls him a faggot. surely that means nothing. and the paragraph that follows is βAziraphale stared desperately at Crowley. As far as he was concerned, young Warlock was obviously infernally tainted, and the sooner the Black Dog turned up and they could get away from this place, the better.β
which is probably trying to say something like donβt call people slurs, it makes them feel bad and want to leave. which is true, donβt do that. but after all that??? now iβm thinking ohh you want to get away? with crowley? why, to go do some faggot shit? good <3
"what are you a cop" is bookaziraphale's entire mindset btw. "is it very angelic to hoard books and be mean to customers" what are you a cop? "should you really be married to your adversary" what are you a cop? "should your husband be parking his car there" ah you ARE a cop. explodes your ticket notebook with his mind. like in his mind if the lord herself doesn't come down to tell him off he's doing just fine. because he's doing it. and if she DOES come down (where is the flaming sword I gave to thee) well then. what is she a cop
book Crowley: youβre an angel, you canβt do the wrong thing
book Aziraphale: you are absolutely right. everything i do *is* the right thing
book aziraphale really took βdo what thou wilt shall be the whole of the lawβ and ran with it

And when he knows heβll HAVE to help the cops, heβs desperate to leave so that he WONβT have to help the cops!
[ID: A snippet from the Good Omens book. It reads βThere was the sound of a siren outside, abruptly broken off as a bullet hit it. Aziraphale nudged Crowley.β The next part is highlighted, and reads ββGet a move on,β he said. βWe're going to be knee-deep in police at any moment and I will of course be morally obliged to assist them in their enquiries.ββ /end ID]

My opinion about GO3 is irrelevant but can we celebrate one excellent thing that came out of this 10 years roller fucking coaster : David Tennant and Michael Sheen. The fact that this story brought them together, that they and their respective people love hanging out, love working together. There is love. Here they are holding hands on their lil chairs at the end of it all. They are fantastic actors. I hope there will be more pieces of media with them in the future.
NG (fuck NG) thought of a book plot where a demon finds himself in The Omen movie. But he screws up the baby switch. And the Antichrist grew up as a character in a Richmal Crompton novel.
He didn't know what to do with it next.
TP offered to buy the story. He changed the demon into a demon and an angel defying their bosses on the earth they both loved. He added his smart whimsy and gave the story a moral core far beyond a silly spoof.
When the story was written, queer kids saw themselves in the angel and demon based on the subtext. Because they lived in subtext.
Gender fluid and trans readers created stories about an angel and demon for whom gender was a choice depending on how or whether they decided to make an effort.
The strangeness of fitting into a planet dominated by beings the angel and demon differed from spoke to neurodivergent readers.
Religious readers found healing after years of struggling to make sense of doctrine divorced from morality.
Some ace and aro readers saw the deep and meaningful relationship beyond romance between a pair together over 6000 years.
And tons of horny people from all walks of life poured their hearts into smut that made the most of beings whose bodies allowed for a range of sexual practice that would never be realistic for humans.
People who felt rejected or unloved because they were "too much" or "too little", took solace from an angel who didn't mind the gruffness of the demon who couldn't bear to be cruel. And the demon who liked the angel being a little bit of a bastard. If an angel and demon could care for and accept each other for themselves, perhaps it could happen for them too?
This is why the Good Omens fandom is so special. Transformation has been baked into his story from the very beginning.
Biblical fan fiction, a collaborative story by two authors, a tv show/movie brought to life by a team of actors, designers, writers...
And now also entire worlds of fan fiction and art. Good Omens continues to transform itself and the people who love it. And it will always be ours as we continue to transform it for generations to come.
You know who would love it if we became a fractured-beyond-repair fandom? If we became a fandom who harasses people?
That Fucking Man.
So. Hate the finale, love the finale, be somewhere in the middle about the finale, headcanon the finale awayβ
But be kind to each other.
And be kind to the cast, crew, and other people who worked under VERY tough circumstances with what they were given. Or at the least, simply avoid interacting with those folks.
(The only one we donβt need to be kind to is That Man)
Please, please, speak kindly and respectfully to, and about, each other. Everyone whoβs not harassing someone has some kind of valid point. Everyone feeling strong emotions is valid in those feelings. Avoid content that throws off your equilibrium, but comfort each other whenever you can.
The real Good Omens always were the friends we made along the way. Letβs stay that way. To our world. π€π₯π€

How much does shipping cost?
For US residents, bundles will cost a flat fee of $13. They will ship via media mail through USPS.
For anyone outside of the US, shipping has been estimated through the cheapest carrier, most likely MEEST or EMS Parcel Post. Unfortunately, I cannot control the cost of shipping, and I know that it is extraordinarily high. The bundles will weigh anywhere between 4-6+ lbs, which is expensive to ship.
Wait, I'm from the US. Why am I paying more for Media Mail?
While Media Mail typically would cost $8-9, the increased price is to offset international orders, whose shipping will cost anywhere from $45-70 with the discount. I hope you understand. I want to make this as accessible as I can without personally eating any costs. I am not making any profit off of this project.
When do orders ship?
Once pre-orders close on 6/30, I will order the books. There is typically a 2-4 week turn around for them to be printed and delivered to me. I then have to package and ship everything from my house. I will also be out of town in August for 10 days to attend TIC7, but I hope to have all orders shipped by September 1st.
US mail should take 2-8 days. International orders can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks, so please be patient.
What percent of proceeds are going to RAINN?
100%! This excludes the cost of printing and shipping. For reference, the first print run cost $1,254 for the books alone, not including shipping and packaging supplies. Anything remaining goes directly to charity. I am not keeping any costs for labor or making any profit on this.
Shipping will take 6-8 weeks after preorders close on 6/30. I will need to submit the order and wait for it to be delivered to my house before preparing shipping. Depending on the quantity of orders, it will take me a while to ship everything out!
*INTERNATIONAL ORDERS OUTSIDE OF THE US:* Orders will be shipped through EMS or Meest for the most cost-effective shipping. Shipping will take additional 2-4 weeks. If you would prefer to ship through USPS or UPS, please contact me directly at ni.scribes [!at] gmail.com. This may increase the cost of shipping by $20-30. Etsy handles calculating VAT. You will also be responsible for any additional tariffs upon arrival.
*Group Orders* If you are interested in connecting with others in your area to do a group order, please contact me BEFORE you orders so I can help find others who are interested. This can help with the cost of shipping. Email me at ni.scribes [!at] gmail.com
*TIC7* If you plan to be at The Ineffable Con this year, I may also be able to deliver the books to you in-person! Let me know, and I will create a separate listing for you that factors out shipping.

Good Omens came out on 31 May 2019, and from that moment on, a lot of people's lives changed. Mine certainly did. Among the many things this series brought into my life, joining the fandom gave me the chance to learn more about aspects of humanity I hadn't had much exposure to before. It gave me the opportunity to explore the many nuances of sexuality, gender identity, and the different forms that love can take, in short, the endless variety of what it means to be human. I learned. I read. I listened. I observed. I understood. It opened my mind even further. And I carried those lessons into my everyday life and my work. I've been able to support people, push for changes in my workplace to make inclusion something real rather than just an assumption, and become a better version of myself. I hope, in some small way, I've helped make life a little better for others too. Whatever people may think about the controversies surrounding Season 3, no one can take this away from me: Good Omens made me a better person.

Moomintroll cleared his throat and felt very proud.
"Oh, everything," he said. "Stars, for example!"
Snufkin was deeply impressed.
"Stars!" he exclaimed. "Then I must come with you. Stars are my favorite things. I always lie and look at them before I go to sleep, and wonder who is on them and how one could get there. The sky looks so friendly with all those little eyes twinkling in it.β
