Oh. Right. Though, if his immaculate memory serves him, Yukari hadn’t wished him one either.

“ That’s what you’re upset about? Well, happy birthday. ‘Guess it slipped my mind… ”

“I’m not upset!” Okay, maybe a little. Was it too much for a girl to ask for a birthday wish from the people she lived with? They could at least pretend to care.

”Uhh. Y’really think so?”

Why did he imagine this going more rough than he originally intended? Memories were sparked as that club that held such a critical detail on focus and precision was pretty cool in it’s own right to study up on.

“Who knows.” He says, offering a shrug to show it’s a dismissive detail. “With a million heads runnin’ around this place, So it ain’t a big deal. it’d be too damn annoying to keep track of ones ya don’t know. So what’cha gonna do anyways? Have a big party while handling the ol’ sweet tooth?”

“Totally!”

“Aha, party? Nah...” Unless the SEES group was planning something (doubtful, considering Akihiko hadn’t even remembered), it would probably be a quiet affair, which was just fine with her.

”Ya guessed it. Been lovin’ to run ever since I been runnin’ away taking my medicine.” It was a clumsy note to leave it on but the memory caused him to broadly smile.

“But it ain’t a prob! Didn’t mean to like bump up into yer day or anything. People ‘round always be so damn down in the dumps. Figured the small things could.. y’know, change that.”

“I’ve never really paid much attention to the track team before,” she admitted. “But if you’re on it you must be pretty good, right? Archery keeps me pretty busy from checking in on other teams, ya know?”

“ Uh, well… yeah. Why would I joke about it? Am I missing something…? ”

“I just heard from the people passing around! s’like you’re the hot topic for the day.”

“O-oh, I see...” Hearing out loud that it was a...hot topic was...new information, not that she didn’t really expect it, she was aware of her popularity, so it wasn’t much of a surprise.

“I wanna wish ya a happy one! Happy Birthday I mean. Y’know, another wild year on up the ladder to celebrate and stuff, yeah?”

“Ryuji, huh...well, at least you know it’s rude, I guess. But...” There was one thing about this that didn’t settle well with her.
