The name is Basil, welcome to my mess of a blog! This is a multi-fandom place, with the focus mainly in Professional Wrestling, Mash and 9-1-1. I do video edits, as well as write for all 3. (Link to my fics on A03, mostly SFW)
AND NOW GIFS AS WELL!
This is mostly positive blog, and I'm just here for a good time. That being said, I'm putting a blanket warning because half of the stuff I post or reblog about will contain Blood & Violence. Choking will be tagged, but please tell me if I miss something.
My DMs and Inbox are open! I might not respond right away, but I'll get to it! I hope you enjoy my blog!
If you want some nitty gritty stuff, down below we go!
Wrestling- current obsession
-My second round with wrestling, and the second time I got into it at a very weird time.
-AEW fan here, but open to most wrestling at the moment.
-Basil's diving in! is a tag I'm using for New Japan but it's also for other wrestling companies I'm still learning about.
MASH
-Team "why not both" when it comes to Trapper vs BJ.
-My favorite did switch though from Trapper to Father Mulchay.
-I love the earlier seasons, but a lot of my favorite episodes come from season 7. My all time favorites though is "Heal Thyself" and "Blood Brothers".
-I have made the mistake of watching the movie with my mom for the first time. It was...something. Made history thought by being the first movie to say "fuck".
9-1-1
-I've been watching since season 1, and I've watched this fandom grow so much.
-I have survived the lawsuit-era fics, it's been that long.
-Chim and Bobby are my favorite characters (and for Lone Star it's Grace and Judd)
-I am on with Buddie, but I'm mostly Buck x happiness PLEASE.
If you made it this far into my rambling: thanks for reading!

i made a post like this before but I can't find it now. so. I'll just redo it.
What's the first "big news story" you remember from when you were a kid?
It's something I love to ask mixed-aged groups sometimes because I think it's really interesting to see the responses. I've gotten answers from the Olympics of [whatever year] to Watergate to more recent stuff from my niblings.
My first news thing I remember is the OJ Simpson trial. I vaguely remember watching the news with my grandparents before that, but that's the first story I remember, in part because my second grade teacher had us go play so she could watch the verdict 😂
AN: JULY BIRTHDAY MONTH WRITING CONTINUES!!! I've been wanting to write about Uno for a good while now and now IT'S TIME!
as always, ao3 link to it is right here and the fic itself is below!
People always ask if he was bothered by how small the Dark Order was now a days.
Back when they had twelve to twenty people and growing applications—still growing last time he checked his inbox—becoming the biggest group was the goal that hung up on their walls and notes. 'Oh yeah, for sure,' he would have said with certainty, 'we want to expand our group to bigger things.' They didn't have the slightest clue what the years were going to be in store.
People left, with and without fanfare. Twelve to twenty became eight to five and then three waiting on their fourth. There were still moments where words weren't enough to cover the stings in the memories that still walk around. Some of their old twelve came back to make amends and all of them had their own path now outside of the Order, whether Uno understood it or not.
He thinks of Anna and Alan, Preston and Stu—the ones that still gives him hell for multiple reasons. He thinks of the one that was nothing like the person he invited in, and that he didn't know if they would ever see eye to eye ever again. Uno doesn't even let himself believe they would have choose The Order: he found out that answer twice through bloody hands and a knot in the back of his head from the chair that was slammed forward. He was warned that they burned everything they touched, and still Uno stubbornly refuse to believe them completely when he see them hugging on friends that had once abandoned them.
That made the idea of just the three of them come a lot easier. Just Uno, Alex and John.
They made Ring of Honor more of their stomping grounds, starting climbing back up and getting right back into people's focus. The chants and cheers never left, it just took a minute for them to grow again. It still surprised them all every time. Uno, Alex and John were the new Dark Order people talked about but they still have their goal in their back pockets. They just had more resources, more time.
Uno had more time, time for gaming and talking about said games and promoting the hell of new titles that showed up in his view. He was grateful, but that itch for wrestling was still in his system. Both of the boys were becoming restless.
Uno, despite having his hands on more things, was getting restless. So he got his head down into papers, locations around him, trainees that already trusted him enough to go with his plans.
Mystery wrestling came from that energy and along with it came the twelve to twenty and growing that was missing. They didn't have the title, but to him it counted. 26 shows underneath his belt, each one finding himself with more ideas to throw at people and online, even more ideas thrown and written at him. He would be exhausted at the end of each show but satisfied with how it came out.
Today, he was flat against a ring, his head spinning with more things to do, to see after, to think about in the bonds of time. He looks around at the area he was at now, the tumbling and planning surrounding him, another one of his students coming to him with an idea he was not prepared for in the slightest.
Was he bothered by the size of the Dark Order? It depends. Not today, though.

very 🥰🥰🥰 when musicians leave bits in songs where they're saying 'is this thing on?' or 'it's still recording y'know.' chairs scraping, retuning guitars, saying 'let's do that bit again', 'was that take any good?'
the way that whole ‘you have no idea what its like to be me’ part goes down
how fucking offended he sounds. he almost laughs at it a little bit even with how absurd it is that someone would think they know how it feels to be this underrated
“setback after setback. alienated. left in the cold. …forgotten.” just the way the tension shifts with that last one. and knowing the backstory to this whole character and in relation to his injury, yeah he has faced all of these hardships and is so publicly open about them like not many others, its just. so easy to relate. and he can tab into those emotions and bring them out there. its beautiful, yet so very tragic at the same time because its TRUE
“but i embraced the change because this is art” i feel like this drives home the point i made at some point about how this whole “art” thing is presented here - he embraced some kind of change. we know artists make whole lot of revisions and different drafts to their works to find what works the best for the final version. hes ready, willing and able to make those same changes for the sake of this art form, to bring out the best possible version of himself to do what must be done. he will be ready and done eventually, but its also the journey of learning on the way while we get there. the journey of bettering yourself and making the best possible changes for the ultimate final product
“you wont be a footnote in this story of redemption” - again, relating to the art thing, footnote. but also the way he says ‘story of redemption’ with such smugness. and look at that face, both there and after. that smile is twitching in the corner of him mouth. hes so fucking proud of himself for that, for putting alex into his place
but also the smile at the end, it comes as fast as it goes. hes still unsure about this, about something. he so desperately wants to be proud of himself, be sure of himself about this, but at the same time, is he really? is he actually ready for this? to back up all his claims and make sure he really is the more underrated one here, to end this three match saga with alex? i mean we know now how that ended (short answer, yes he was) but also.. yeah. something about the way hes slightly hesitant to full on put on that smile to be so proud of himself hits really hard on this one
..anyways thats it. ive just been thinking about this a lot lately (as this is one of my favorite promos and i so desperately need him to make more solo stuff like this oof)

This G1, I'm putting my hope in *NOBODY. I AM GOING IN BLIND AND WITH MY EYES CLOSED.
*Last year, my hope went into Gabe who proceeded to mess up his knee. This year, my hope for Callum is replaced with fear for his shoulder. I don't even wanna think about what happened to Shota.

AN: Hello! I'm doing a July Birthday writing celebration for (most that I know of) wrestler birthday for the month of July! I have most of them on a document and then AEW's birthday card of Speedball slapped me right in the head so WE'RE WRITING A DRABBLE DAMNIT, POWER ON!
As always, link will be to my ao3 to read it and I'll be pasting the other part of it down below!
(SPOILERS FOR THE DYNAMITE ON 7/15)
Gear is something that should be treated with the utmost respect.
It shouldn't be torn off in a rush of defeat or anger. It should not be used to muffle sound. And above all else, it definitely shouldn't be stretched out to wipe away tears, even if the elastic makes it possible. It can fall onto it though, like sweat that was already made its presence known.
They were always soaked by the end of matches. It was something to be proud of because it was work that was worth the sweat pouring through the one that wasn't covered in the gear. The worse would be through their hair, which held it as well as the half bottle of water they would pour on top by the end, that they would shake out hard enough to splash on others.
It would always get on him, and a couple of times Speedball would get it right back when they least expected it. Both times end up stinging from the product he used and more water ended up being poured much to their partner's quiet, as he tried to be, laughter.
The gear can also shine bright enough to reflect onto anyone that passes by. They remember the way red and blue would show against their skin, on his jacket and shades. When they moved in flips and tumbles, the colors blur into a wonderful blend of patterns that the camera could only capture.
Shirts are different. Most are cotton, soft to the skin and soaks up anything that it touches. It's not perfect: the cotton still makes everything that wets it cling onto the skin, whatever presence that touched it leaving its moist prints through the shirt.
The lower part of their shirt was still near their eyes, wiping away tears that were still quickly falling. The words still rings in their ears, even as the night air tries to cover it with random creaking.
'Speedball should have seen this coming,' a common thought they see floating around in places they shouldn't be lurking around in at midnight and yet, when sleep fails to come, it was easier to go online and look around. It was easier to see repeating words of knowledge people freely yell out on the internet.
'I don't need your love,' their heart echoed painfully hours after.
