This is a short film about a remarkable woman named Veiga Grétarsdóttir.  She is from a small fishing village in the Westfjords of Iceland called Isafjordur. In this short film Veiga shares her emotional life story of following her heart to finally become the woman she is today. She has become an accomplished sea kayaker who circumnavigated solo around Iceland, all while doing it against the current and following her heart.Â

I have a love hate relationship with the sea. One side of me is terrified of it, which who wouldn’t be, it’s monstrous. But then there’s this other side of me that is attracted to the beauty, calmness, elements of danger and potential unknown of the sea, especially the Arctic Ocean.Here is a photo I shot of Arktika while hiking from one side of the fjord to the other last year.
