Just finished mapping this out. Wrapping up Snow White by Laufey. Good song to sing along to. Time to practice. Get it here: https://chordyes.com/chord/laufey-snow-white #guitarvirtuoso #guitargenius #icelandic #femalevocalist #jazzpop #orchestral #selfreflection
Translation to English below. This poem was first published in the now defunct newspaper Þjóðviljinn (the nation's will) on September 9th, 1973. By Guðmundur Böðvarsson
Translation, without attempt to rebuild rhymes;
CROSSWORD (Nr. one thousand nine hundred seventy three.)
"No, god has not forgotten the weaker and smaller though he gives you another role than me, who is bigger, for you have the option, though weak and shy, to take part and fight and free the world.
And so I have, little one, chosen for you a glorious struggle : on guard, right at the front, there you will stand, as the hero's image against the enemies of freedom and peace, who now rise up and shake the sky
and build machines that threaten wicked retorts, they have rockets and bombs and they know how to shoot, and mark my words they are a devilish group for the Devil taught them what God taught us.
And I would like to say that, though I know what to do, that I find it better to be careful when approaching the strong; - now, the other I've tried and do really appreciate, it's safe to kill those that can do nothing.
But if I should shoot (just to try it) at the pigs and the bastards react harshly and sneer and send a missile of death that can travel across seas and continents, it just will not do for Me to suffer the worst myself.
Because as you know there is no one in the world such, - it's a responsibility to be this rich and famous. Yes, remember well, so you can be rid of the fear and hesitation, that you have so little in your pockets, while I have much.
If everything goes as we hope of course you will be the first to fall but you will have the most decorated and well carved headstone and you will finally make it to the page where my battle story is written, then your soul will rejoice with god after the hard work standing guard.
Now we wait for the final round to begin and a message from above : knock'em out now. Let us support one another. Let's stand together. You stand up front."
@facelessoldgargoyle here's the poem. Maybe one day I'll re-write it in english so that it keeps it's scheme, but the meaning is more important to me.
