The rewatch value on this show is unlike what I have ever seen before. Each episode will reveal something that you just disregarded in a previous episode and you’ll just be stunned when it comes back again. This show refuses to be background noise and demands that you pay attention. Petey told mark that there was a department that never leaves. Back then you’re kind of like oh wow that’s crazy and then you find out that that department was Gemma. Mark’s best work friend told him about his wife.

I kind of dig that the plot twist is that the Eagans are a dark take on Elon Musk instead of Jeff Bezos.

After seeing this post calling Helena Jeff Bezos I can’t help but look at Severance as an extremely dark take on an Amazon Warehouse. It’s literally a Black Mirror miniseries of working in Corporate.

I don’t think I’m ever going to be over Burt wanting a version of himself that goes to Heaven so much that he accidentally trapped himself in Hell and committed adultery.

This episode was a lot and I love that they don’t show an absolute perfect marriage. Yes their life is romanticized literally bathed in sunlight but you also get Mark being an asshole. You get that Gemma wasn’t just exclusively his, Devon and Ricken loved her too. And then you have the last moment he has with Gemma being where she had to get him to say I love you. I’m obsessed with the shift of Mark being in a soft warm light with Gemma then left alone in a dark empty space when the cops are at his door to tell him that she’s not coming back.

Editors are extremely overlooked so to Sir Keith Fraase just know I see you and you did your big one on this episode.
