Cliff Calley has sat and waited for an hour and a half on a woman he's never met before, despite being rather cocky and pleased with himself clearly he's a little pathetic. Is so charmed by Donna showing up late and chaotic and then asking "will you buy me a drink?" Pulls off the line "to ensure this country isn't overrun by poor people and lesbians" WAY too well. Is law school buddies with Ainsley Hayes to this day. Especially knowing what he's gonna do in season 3 and 6? I do appreciate this damn man.

man i love cj cregg and the fact she always has to perform being fine because she's the most public facing person in the white house senior staff. and not only is she public facing, she interacts with reporters who are going to throw questions at her and dissect what she has to say and what her reactions to their information are. not to mention the fact she interacts with these reporters isolates her in more ways than one. the others have mostly stopped leaving her out of the loop, but in high stress moments like after rosslyn or the MS reveal, she's the one who has to chat with the press while everyone else processes it together. she has to keep her cool and piece together the strategy. i know this isn't the world's most original observation about her but oh cj cregg and the way you're able to spin that you're okay. i want to put her under a microscope.

that first press briefing after the shooting. the way the camera moves so fast from each reporter you can barely see them. the wall of noise and camera flashes the second cj finishes saying something. the way the press room seems more full, like the reporters are creeping in on all sides, the forward push of cameras and questions and microphones. cj leaning against the lectern like she's trying to create a space for herself to even think. "can you tell us anything?" "is there anything you know?". cj reaching for her necklace. she was pushed to the ground during an active shooting barely an hour ago. she's trying to quip with danny like she always does. "the canadiens. i mean the hockey team." she was in the hospital a few minutes ago hearing that the president is okay but josh might not make it. now THIS is television.

i love Millie Alcock’s Kara. she’s messy, she’s an alcoholic, she’s rude, she doesn’t have a love interest, she beats the shit out of pedophiles and dismantles their sex trafficking ring in the process. she carries the grief of an entire planet because she doesn’t think Clark, whose heart is so optimistic and so desperate to see goodness in people, can handle it. she gets her hands dirty so that a child doesn’t have to live with the guilt of murder. she’s not ditzy, or just some sexy hero girl for misogynists to objectify and drool over. she’s strong, she’s smart, she’s confident, and she’s good

A thing I really appreciate about supergirl is that Kara is never shown to be pretty. Yeha she is pretty regardless because they casted milly fucking alcock but the never show her to be put together. They let her be messy. They let her be rude. They let her fuck up. Every time we see strong confident women in media they are always wearing the tightest bodysuit and look beautiful even when they have been beaten to shit. Not here. Every scene Kara is in she looks like a car had run over her. And they don't "transform" her and make her look prettier by the end to show that she has started to heal. Nah they keep her like that and they change how she acts. I love supergirl.

I like that Supergirl says it’s okay to kill someone’s abuser so long as you don’t let the thirteen year old do it and I like that Supergirl says vengeance will not solve things but neither will allowing a cycle of violence to continue

Finally, a "jaded alcoholic man whose loved ones are all dead avenges his dog" movie where the man's a woman and the dog doesn't die.

Of course they don’t like Milly Alcock’s Supergirl. She’s a grown ass woman with zero love interests who spends the movie saving her dog, casually dismantling a sex trafficking ring while she’s at it, and preaching the importance of being good, not nice or smiley or cheerful but good. I for one adored the movie and I really hope I’ll get to see more of Alcock’s Supergirl she’s now my favorite iteration of her and I love her so dearly.
