the high priests are holy. they are whole. they are human, just like you and me. they run the world behind the kings, tipping scales and raising their guards.
zuwellyn ro'mae, the patron's right hand. the ebony priest is dark, tactful, and elegant. he speaks like a snake but dances like a peacock. he is the most active of the priests, always planning and moving. he is not to be messed with, irene helps him and cries for him.
the other priests keep to the shadows, to themselves. their names are unknown, but their powers and influence are vice grips on everyone below them.
the finder's priest, kul'zak's disciple. he reads and reads and reads, always by candlelight in his rooms. the library of a bed keeps him safe, sane, and comfortable. they keep him at peace. his guards barely know what he looks like. he comes up to the door, opens it a pinch, and whispers commands with an iron tone. his actions are unsympathetic, unchanging against his personal moral code.
the flame's water, menphia's smoke. she calls herself menphia's protector. she obsesses over all forms of menphia, desperate for all information on her 'beloved'. she claims to be menphia's past true love, caring for her despite the lives and time. she hates being interrupted as she studies the texts and images, lashing out at anyone nearby and always aiming for vitals.
the curios' discloser, shad's sliver. they conceal themselves in plain sight, always out and about. they never wear the proper priest clothing or acts accordingly. she's always drinking and taking, uncaring towards others. he loves the flesh and craves it all the time, hedonism drives them more than anything. they claim to be doing it 'in shad's honor', but everyone is too afraid to say it around the wrong person to disagree.
the scrybe's ink, enki's trusted. they are the youngest and always fighting. they were trained to be a guard before finding the call of priesthood. he always carries a sword on his hip, quivers over his shoulder, and daggers on his person. they are intimidating with their weapons, aggressive with their body and words, and can kill anyone without hesitation.
the shields point, esmund's blade. they claim to be his true reincarnation and above everyone. he's always training for nothing, blade's sharp and untouched in battle. he always stays away from battles and fights, always keeping to himself and avoiding people. his eyes are cold as ice and upset something deep inside people.
when the high priests meet up, it is never a pretty sight. the sliver is always a different person, they must meet against the disciple's door and croon to hear them. the trusted are always driven to violence first, the smoke must set up a time off from studying her beloved or having to pause the meetings frequently to stare at her love, the point is always sharpening his weapons- quivers when uninterested. he only brings quivers to the meetings. the right hand always leads with a commanding tone, drawing everyone's attention towards himself no matter what is going on and leads the meetings smoothly.
