Judy Álvarez Cyberpunk 2077 (2020) dev. CD Projekt RED
Far Cry 5 Scenery 169/???
I know that I never shut up about Joey but I don't think she's important just because I love her.
I think she's important because she is actually important.
Joey Hudson is your coworker and the player's assigned partner, and is therefore narratively important to the player's character. But she isn't just the emotional tether that gets the player to go after John Seed.
She's also the reason the player was able to escape the gate that first time. The moment John had to focus on her and wheel her out of the way, the Deputy was free to make a break for it.
She's the reason why everyone that was captive in the gate was able to come home. Not only was it her idea to free them, she also operated the bunker's security systems to let everyone out. After being trapped in the Gate for so long she gained a rough knowledge of its layout. And she used that knowledge along with feed from the security cameras to direct the Deputy so they knew where to go and what to shoot at.
At the end of the game, if you choose to walk away, she makes you question if you've really made the right choice before an ambiguous end. If you choose to stay and fight, she helps you take down the Father. When the Collapse comes she tells you to keep your eyes on the road and warns you about the same falling tree that ended up killing her, Whitehorse, and Staci.
If she had been a gun for hire, people would have gotten more attached to her. If she had been allowed to speak, people would have gotten more attached to her. But unfortunately that didn't happen. You can get a semblance of what GFH Hudson would have been like on PC with mods, but of course that isn't the same and not everyone has access to that.
It's one thing to not like a character or to not vibe with them. I get that not everyone is going to like her. A lot of people don't feel like they know her well enough to have anything other than a cookie cutter opinion of her, and I completely understand why that is.
But I wish people would stop downplaying her importance in the story and actually give her a chance.
If they did, I'm sure they would be able to see what a tenacious and brave person she is. That she's just as deserving of happy endings and attention as anyone else.
Adding on!
I will never recover from the fact that Rook is Danny’s replacement. Danny. As in Joey’s partner who was killed. Who Joey still feels guilt over. Joey walked into the office one day and saw some probie and was told that they were her new partner.
Joey is so important to the story and to rook and it makes me really sad that the most acknowledgment she gets in the fandom is people shipping her with her abuser/captor.
She should have been a GFH and Ubi should have done more to expand her character!
I honestly think she should have been the one to kill John. Not Rook, not Nic, JOEY FUCKING HUDSON!!!
In this house (blog) we love and respect Deputy Joey Hudson!!

It's a good thing that you were there to help Bhadra when she was in trouble. Perhaps you are her guardian now, eh? I saw you coming out of that burning building with Bhadra in your arms. You saved her life. You are a hero, Ajay. Bhadra is very fortunate to have a saviour in you. She has a kindness that is rare in the youth these days and you should protect her. She's merely a girl but there is something special about her.
I've been talking with @cheshire-cat-talks and @iphia25, about my Animal Crossing house for Joey, so I figured I'd share it here too 💘
This is pretty close to my actual headcanons for her house!
Starting with her kitchen, Joey uses her rice cooker religiously. A lot of her utensils were randomly acquired over the years and she has a few things that really ought to be replaced, but she would rather eat burnt toast than buy a new toaster.
Since she lives alone sometimes the dishes pile up or empty beer bottles sit on the coffee table for too long, but too much clutter gets on Joey's nerves. Her living room/dining room is a little old school, but that's just how she likes it. The walls are decorated with photos of friends and family, a good 'ol singing bass, and her framed certificate from the police academy.
A self-sufficient gal like Joey needs a lot of storage! Her garage is great for small home improvement projects, and she has everything she needs to do her own car repairs. Her mountain bike, fishing equipment, and camping gear lives here.
Mornings can be rough, but Joey's got a cozy bathroom with a nice shower to get her going.
It's rare to catch her with makeup on, but when she does wear it she pulls out the makeup bag she stole from Mary May back in middle school. The zipper catches and some of her makeup is definitely expired, but if it ain't broke, don't fix it!
Joey's bedroom is a bit of a relic. Very 1970's with the wood paneling and wallpaper, just like the rest of the house.
Souvenirs from travels with her best friend Deputy Rhodey Gomez (@dadtron-3000) line the shelves. Posters from her youth hang off of walls on yellowed tape. She also has a small collection of plushies from local fairs and festivals, solely because she's absolutely cracked at carnival games. On Halloween, she often gives those plushies out to trick-or-treaters alongside full-sized candy bars. If any kid is willing to make the trek out to her place, they deserve a REAL reward!
Joey's house is only one story tall with a basement, but that basement contains her pride and joy! Her home gym!
It's probably the most well kept room in the house, full of all the equipment she could ever need to get a great workout in. A wall-mounted TV, an expansive record collection, and posters of hot babes are enough to get her fired up even without the preworkout. But, if she need that or anything else to drink, her mini fridge has her covered.
Less interesting is the standard basement storage and her washer and dryer, but at least it's all organized and out of the way!
A couple of my personal Deputy Joey Hudson Hcs just for fun!
Her parents own a small martial arts gym in Holland Valley, where Joey would start training when she was a teenager. It "closed down "after the cult moved in but they kept training in private.
Joey enjoyed hiking, fishing, archery, etc growing up. She views her fellow deputies as family and is more than willing to share these passions with them and show them the ropes.
Her favorite music is rock and indie but she'll listen to basically anything without being judgemental about it. She also learns acoustic guitar on her free time
She often trains with Grace Armstrong and views her as another mentor
That's about it for now! I'm new to writing HCs but hopefully you guys enjoyed <3
No but seriously. The heralds are well made in terms of 'different personalities and behaviour to elict different kinds of "fear" '. Faith is unpredictable. Do you trust her? What if she is lying? Can't be sure. There is no safety net here. She might be on ur side or just pretend to be and throw you to the wolves. John has a hair-trigger temper. Walk on eggshells or you will set it off. And Jacob seems uncaring and unyielding, as if nothing you do or say can change what he has planned for you.
And that’s exactly a huge part of why I love this game and I agree with what you’re saying!!!
All the villains have a unique personality. They are much more than some two dimensional characters. And the fact that they all have their own reasons to be in this cult beyond “Joseph wants us here”.
Not gonna lie, Faith genuinely confuses me. Is she really a victim? Or does she enjoy everything that happens in Eden’s Gate? With all the evidence we have (FC6 DLC: Collapse and her bossfight) show that her personality isn’t just black and white at all. And I still can’t decide if she’s with then cult because she’s scared of Joseph, or because she really believes what Joseph says. Her manipulation skills are well written imo.
And there’s John. I think he’s also unpredictable as hell. I headcanon he sometimes laughs at stuff that triggers him other times. Like, I think you can’t just exist normally around him and his mood heavily influences the vibes around him. Not to mention he’s there not only because of Joseph, but because he does have these sadistic things and the cult lets him be his sadistic self.
And about Jacob… I agree, too. IMO, he truly doesn’t care about anything. And let’s be real here, he is pretty fucked up with his ideologies and all the things that happened to him. The cult gave him a purpose. Something to do. I agree with you, there’s literally nothing you could do to avoid what he planned for you. That gave him a purpose. To make the Deputy do the trials, and he is aware of that.
All in all, I am actually really enjoying that the writers actually gave them proper characters and personalities and they weren’t just “Joseph’s puppets”. They made awesome and beautifully written characters for their game and I as a player (and I think all of you too) appreciate that.
/sorry if I sounded weird in this answer, I am really tired right now/
/BUT thank you for sending me anon asks, I love reading them and thinking about these!<3/

women of far cry (3-4-5)
theres nothing that makes me want to edit more than when i see women being ignored in favour of their male counterparts who are also often their abusers
Its so sad when gamers have no interest in a games storyline like broooo the developpers themes and ideas. You dont care about their characters? You dont care about their plot and development? You just want to hit things a lot till they die?
I really enjoy this blog, especially as someone who got into FC4 years after it released!
Was wondering if u had any thoughts/ headcannons regarding Yuma (she's one of my faves and i just find her fascinating despite being a villain lol) only if you want to ofc :)
we cannot let the best game be forgottennn. i'm the worst when it comes to hcs, that's why i just enjoy it all from afar, even though yuma is another fave… ow i'm disappointed. can i turn that into appreciation?
so, i like her will, but not a resistance like noore's, i mean being who she wants to be, getting what she wants to get, and not having to answer to anyone. her soldiers, her subordinates, her enemies, everyone without exception has two options: either respect or fear for what she's capable of. idk it hits different. it's hilarious how her expedition team shakes in their boots when reporting to her, and the natives feel more anger than fear towards pagan, for example, while yuma, oh she messes with their minds. it's both her impenetrable conduct and the stories that come from her prison, those things fascinate me, the games she plays, her brutality. she doesn't need to make any effort, everything bends to her naturally, that's power in its purest form and we can see the difference there between the governors. i even believe there are tales about the so called spider running in that northern part, like we have about yakshini. it's said that a fog went out with her death, and i can feel a deadly silence in her region after listening to the villagers' lines. look. at. this. scenario. i could bring the same discussion from that old post , when reality ends and when spirituality begins? ubi had a great opportunity to explore the inherent terror that adorns the general, another demoniac participation in the kyrati myths, yet they chose to make her agonize.
also, the relationship between yuma and pagan, the way they grew up together and conquered kyrat later... i'd pay to see more instead of the same problems with just different dialogues in the dlc. if everything were that perfect the siblings would be unbeatable, but they started to destroy each other as soon as their goals lose perspective. that said, pagan should have named her queen, period. of course that part is a joke bc it'd be impossible for that to happen, unless she killed him? like, after her brother's downfall, isn't she more competent than him. i'd totally support it, too, after all yuma deserved more recognition from the man for whom she gave all her life, deserved even kyrat for herself. i stand for the point of view of a girl leading a bunch of male gangsters, how she overcame her trauma and solidified into a well-disciplined figure. what a woman <3
Agree 100% with everything you said! Thanks so much :))
When first playing FC4 she quickly caught my eye with her character design, presense, and most of all her commitment to Shangri-La (And her brother once upon a time). Hearing people talk about her in the North, they're terrified of ending up in Durgesh or Shining Minds. Yet, at no point does it feel like she's trying to make it known that she's intimidating, but rather her actions tell the player that right way. And boy does one feel it.
About her Shangri- La obsession though, one has to wonder how she found out all about it. Especially when the thangkas were never in her possession. Maybe it was the same guru that told Yogi and Reggie about it, or that Sir Nigel person mentioned in the notes. His role is never fully explained, yet he tries to warn her that the end is near. In Durgesh though, Yuma mentions that she would've killed Ishwari given the chance, but not Mohan. I imagine this is because despite her hating him for being her brother's arch nemesis (and for how he thought women didn't belong on the battlefield, when Yuma proved him wrong every time) she respected the culture he fought for. It's also my personal hc that she would know or at least try to learn Hindi/ Kyrati to better understand and access the scriptures. It's mentioned how over time she became incredibly disciplined, so I have no doubt she could've done it. She def knows some jiu jitsu too, like I just imagine her being able to strike down any of Pagan's soldiers easily even without drugs or illusions.
Overall, despite her being one of the most evil characters in FC4, I can't help but to admire Yuma's determination, smarts, and strength. It would've been fascinating to get a DLC where you can play as a royal army soldier before Ajay's arrival so we could see more of her in action as well as her dynamic with Pagan. Kind of like what we saw with Sabal and Amita (I'm not one of those people that thinks Pagan is the good guy, he's very much a villain, but their side of the story would have been interesting to see). Or perhaps a story set when the initial war was happening in the 1990s? I definitely would've liked to have seen more of her trying to exploit Ajay's access to Shangri-La though and a more in-depth look at the spider imagery. Though, I'm happy we at least got to see more of her in Control. FC4 never fully explored her tragic backstory, and it was fantastic to see her battle through those old wounds so gracefully, becoming the general that was very much the driving force between Pagan's success.
On the side note, I adore her character design, not just because she's drop dead gorgeous but the pink hair, jacket (covered in tons of war medals nonetheless), etc is so unique and just commands respect. as mumu chiffon would say "fierce"
I can't wait for the mountain of paperwork we're gonna have to fill after all this, Rook. So much shit happening here. What counts as a crime? What counts as self defense? Who the fuck knows. One thing's for sure, you and me will be desk jockies after this.

Just a little doodle before I get to redesigning ocs
as the resident bhadra stan i need to ask you your thoughts on bhadra... headcanons, analysis... anything! i politely request, of course. if you may 🙏
omg. no problem buddy!
i've got a reflection that the last two tarun mataras acted as a martyr of sorts, it involves ajay and only then kyrat found a state of peace. kyra brings protection, kyrat is her creation, and they're the reincarnation of kyra… of course, each one had their emergencies. first ishwari intentionally spared her country from further suffering, ruining leaders in power to save ajay, then bhadra accepts whatever choice ajay makes to save kyrat, and he can easily have the last leader killed, so i consider their deeds a success. people think bhadra is a special girl and that ajay is her guardian, i really like the whole connection, as if the gods had designed their paths to intertwine. parallels again? anyway. i still don't like the way the women in fc have to destroy themselves to prove their points regardless of their potential. at least this narrative brings one positive point, they bravely defied the destiny that others had planned for them. and bhadra, she's so perfect that in this context she becomes ethereal, but all i can feel is melancholy for the child who cannot make her own choices.
maybe if she didn't have ajay by her side, then she def would rebel. her conscience aligns with the golden path's cause, the good part, freeing people etc, not with amita or sabal. she knows who they really are and her bets end with ajay. that's all she can do, to expect for the change to come from him, since they've already given up on her. i see her playing with other children in banapur, distracting her mind with some chores, even so her life is restricted, under constant vigilance, not only because war commanders are close but mainly because she was being trained to be someone. a powerful goddess, a great symbol of resistance, at the same time amita's apprentice, who knows a soldier? it's clear why sabal clings to her, but amita? she wouldn't keep a child if she didn't see something to work on there. thing is, this girl got all the good tactics, but they neglected her growth and she ends up empty, a chained and voiceless thing. i don't consider her a failure at all though. it's impossible when we get how she sweetly, slowly but deeply opens ajay's eyes and decides to make a final move for the greater good, like a hero would do. she's one for me. this act, sacrificing her self, many years, many dreams, is very very very honorable of her. it's much harder and more painful than picking up a gun and fixing things, in fact no child should ever even think about that!!!! but she does, and creates the opportunity she didn't have to other people
