”One Summer With You”—A Kaishin Summer-themed Season!

Welcome to “One Summer With You”, where we spend a whole “season” to create Kaishin works centered around summer-themed prompts! All with a make-bad-art mindset!

A “Season” is similar to a themed “Week” or “Month”, except with a little more prompts than a Week but a lot more time than a Month. Initially inspired by anime seasons (which is released on time with actual seasons) that sometimes has 12 episodes released per week. Though the timing for “One Summer With You” is a lot more flexible, as will be explained below.

That being said, here are our Summer prompts (also listed in alt text)!

Guidelines!

Write or make art of Kaishin, inspired by the summer-related prompts above!

Approach with a “make/write-bad-art/writing” mindset! A barebones sketch to a paragraph long writing will do, just do what you can!

Posting your work is not mandatory, but heavily encouraged!

You are not required to do the prompts in order or finish them all, pick and choose which one you want to do first or even leave some out!

There is no hard deadline! You can keep this prompt list with you, way into autumn, into winter or for as long as you want!

But for those who want a little more structure, you can choose to work from June to August, with around one piece per week! But of course, I encourage working on your own pace <3

I just wanted to give a little update; the prompt list almost entirely finalized! As I've said, I already had most if from the previous time I tried to do this but I did tweak a few of them.

All that's left is to make a graphic and then posting! Since I haven't gotten around to doing that yet, if anyone has any summer related prompt they'd like to suggest, you're still free to do so!

It would've been 12 chapters (based on a lot of the animes I watched back then having 12 episodes) with each one having a specific summer-related theme

I'm not planning to write much for it but I've been thinking of releasing the theme list so Kaishin shippers can follow along! I initially made the list for a "write/draw bad writing/art" purpose but I only finished two works before I got busy. I want to keep that vibe again this time, especially since it's not really an "event" you can pick and choose which theme(s) you want to work on!

Happy Birthday to our favorite shrunken highschool detective! Oh, Kudo Shinichi you are so famous to me... May you solve all the cases, play all the soccer games and drink all the ice coffee your heart could possibly desire.

I don't have a dedicated birthday fic, but I did write a Comfort/Fluff(?), Post-Conan, Shinichi-centric fic a while ago!

"The Future Glitters Like Cat Eye"

Sleepy, just woken up Shinichi, who after the aptx, is able to wake up comfortably in the (late) morning. He'd raise up his head slightly, eyes squinting but his lips curled in a small smile. He'd reach for Kaito's fingers, intertwining them lazily before burrowing his face back into the pillow and tangling up his legs in the blanket as he pulls them to his chest.

Suave, charming and mysterious phantom thief who holds this tiny, cute (secretly chaotic and terrifyingly smart) seven year old who's trying to catch him more gently than the precious gems he steals

  Or; Shinichi reflects on his life in the aftermath through manicures.

In front of him is a rooftop surrounded by the night. Nonsensically, even under the dark and the blinking stars, he feels as though he’s standing in a grassy plain with a sunny, blue sky.

His vision is blurry around the edges. Like a viginette, like a film. He has a fleeting thought that this might be a dream.

Fem!(?) Shinichi sketches because I'm a girl drawer more than a guy drawer (we're working on that)

Anyway that one post about dragging someone into a room and you just hear chainsaw and other related sounds and them walking out with kiss marks all over

That but Kaishin in a hangout with all their friends. Kaito's getting more and more rambunctious and while normally Shinichi lets him do what he wants, he does not have enough sleep and his head is pounding.

Shinichi puts his hand up in a "give us a moment" gesture and drags Kaito by the back of the collar to a janitor's closet or something. You just hear springs and mini explosions and squeaky hammer noises and then it stops.

The door opens. Shinichi steps out, hair and outfit pristine, while ribbons, doves and smoke filter out the room. Kaito follows, mouth open, eyes wide, cheeks flushed with red kiss marks all over his face (and what you can see of his neck.) (Where did the lipstick come from...)
