I think a lot of the time I draw and write with the assumption that I'll eventually make a couple of friends along the way. People who have time and interest in me that I have equal for them. Then I see discourse about how you should only write for yourself and any desire for people to look at what you make is framed like some kind of moral or ethical failure. Spiritually selfish. I'm sure the people who say shit like that have some specific person in mind. But damn. I gotta be honest, that shit gets to me. I just want two friends. Or one friend. I'll negotiate. Yet the discourse loves to be hyperbolic and black and white. Feels like shit, dude. Am no not allowed to desire? To long? To yearn for understanding and companionship? I'm allowed to write about it but not want it. Got it.

Its so bothersome to see someone getting praised up and down for their writing and then taking a look and instantly copping it as AI. Its very obvious to me. But given that there's always a level of deniability.... Its not worth starting a fight. I would hate to think I'm the only one who sees this stuff in these circles. I can't be. But the amount of praise heaped upon them! I'm someone who believes very strongly that you can NEVER fully know anything. Even if you can be 99.99999999% sure, you never know if a cosmic ray hit you in the head and changed a neuron in you or something and you misremember things, or how you can never know what was going through someone else's mind. But wow I hate watching it when I'm definitely sitting in that 99.999999% confident zone.
