This doesn’t mean it’s ableist for aces to headcanon autistic (coded) characters as ace.

This doesn’t mean it’s aphobic for autistic people to headcanon ace (coded) characters as autistic.

People headcanoning characters to be like themselves isn’t a bad thing. And neither of these identities take away from the other or other identities that may be involved. Suggesting it is is both ableist and aphobic.

The problem here is with the people doing the writing- who are coding characters as autistic and ace because the coding for both is so similar. The people who are upholding the stereotypes without being aware of the nuance related to both identities.

Unless you are aspec and/or autistic it is not your place to say anything about how a headcanon is bad. Especially if you are neither.
