Entrapdak Positivity Month

This may be random, or maybe you've talked about it on your blog before, but I was wondering if you have ever heard of Moche portrait vessels? They were made by artists of the Moche culture of Peru around 300 AD, and are stunningly accurate portraits of real people who lived there. Interestingly, the artists had a preference for people with facial differences. Those differences are not idealized or glossed over, nor are they demeaned or shown as grotesque, but are portrayed true to life, to the point where the individuals' specific health conditions can sometimes be identified. They're one of my favorite types of artifacts and seeing your art tutorials always reminds me of them. Thank you for what you do!
