Arthur is finally able to give her comfort in a way that’s tangible and reciprocal, while still indulging in the feeling of her in his arms, if only for a moment.

Gwen has her arms tucked in beneath his chest, not wanting to take too much, but lets him cradle her head anyway. The doorway is wide open, and anyone, servant or nobility alike could walk past and see, so her head is angled to spot the warning signs and pull back right away.
