This is simply pathetic.
When are people gonna realize that Dottore dying is literally the only way they can make him playable? Because they need to end his villain arc somehow, since they clearly donât wanna make fully active villains playable, lol. So ending his whole experimentation arc is pretty much the only way to make that work.
And yes, itâs absolutely possible for them to bring him back afterward. Pretty much nothing is impossible in the world of Teyvat when it has its own laws of reality + the power of HoYoâs money-hungry âanything for the banner and merchandise salesâ business plan on its side.
Like⊠the entire gameâs main motif is literally Life, Death, and Rebirth. Besides the whole moon symbolism, thatâs one of the biggest recurring themes in Genshin. We already have multiple characters connected to rebirth, symbolic death, resurrection themes, reincarnation parallels, memories surviving death, people speaking to us from the afterlife, ghosts lingering around, consciousness existing separately from bodies, Irminsul rewriting existence, and so on. âDeathâ in Genshin rarely means straightforward permanent death. Half the time it ends up being part of some larger hidden narrative twist or setup for a future reveal.
Hat Guy literally symbolically "died" and was reborn as a different person. Capitano isnât even 100% dead, and the story still very obviously leaves room for his return somehow. So why are people acting like Dottore dying would automatically mean permanent deletion from the story forever? đ
And honestly, just LOOK at the amount of work HoYo has put into him compared to characters like La Signora. Dottore has:
multiple major designs
a super detailed Omega Build model that literally looks playable
asymmetrical design philosophy everywhere
intricate detailing down to the underside of his shoes đ
multiple boss forms/design elements
one of the most elaborate Harbinger introductions in the game
an entire 4+ minute animated teaser dedicated almost entirely to him
absurd amounts of lore spread across artifacts, quests, notes, NPC dialogue, and worldbuilding
Meanwhile Signora never even got HALF that treatment.
Like⊠why would HoYo invest THAT much effort, money, animation work, merchandising potential, lore buildup, and design complexity into him if they didnât intend for him to remain an extremely significant character going forward? đ
I could honestly go on about all the reasons we basically already KNOW heâs coming back somehow, but this rant is getting insanely long already, so Iâll just end this for now, and then maybe get back to my theories/clues/proofs another time.

Iâm a bit saddened about saying this, but I might just end up uninstalling Genshin Impact. Mostly for my own personal reasons. Itâs not because of Dottoreâs absence. Not because of the quitting trend. I justâŠ. have a lot of more important things to take care of.
Like, you know, my own fricking life⊠My mental and physical health⊠Iâm already suffering and struggling with keeping myself alive, and playing this game now, for me, is like repeatedly stabbing myself and ignoring all the bleeding and all the wounds Iâm making on myself. Yes, thatâs exactly how it feels for me..!
I shouldâve joined Genshin back when it was brand new and shouldâve done all the quests and exploration quickly from every new update, but alas, I didnât. And now Iâll never ever be able to catch up with things. Because I have waaay too many unfinished quests and explorations. And for many players, that might not be a problem, but for me who is an obsessive perfectionist⊠It just⊠is torture to me⊠I want to know EVERYTHING this game has to offer, so I donât feel left behind with anything⊠But⊠Itâs just too muchâŠ
The fact that I had just spent the whole last update on starting and then finishing the Temple of Space quests (which were super mid btw), and forced myself to suffer through all that + the exploration, just to get some meager 400 Primogems or whatever amount it wasâŠ
And I think⊠âFinally, now I can go back to doing the old quests. Finally I get some time to catch up with at least a little bit more before the next updateââ and then nope. Only a few days later, the new version starts enrolling. And Iâm likeâŠ.

Itâs also sucking away money from me that I could have spent on way more meaningful and useful things btwâŠ
