I am an adult, and Inscryption has been my hyper-fixation since 2022.
I'm trying to get back into using this blog!
My only real rule is just don’t be a dick. If you decide to be a dick, give me reason to believe you are a dick, or will be a dick to me, I'll just block you. If I block you, it's probably for a reason.
If you need something tagged, please let me know
I will get to it ASAP. If it needs a trigger warning, I will put a trigger warning at the top, a “Keep reading” link, and tag it with the trigger warning.
My ask box is open, please let me know if you have any questions or requests. I’ll be happy to respond but it may take a little while

How would Bots have tattoos in the world of Inscryption?
Like yeah decals exist, but would they be seen on bots the way tattoos are on humans? Would 100% be behind that idea
I could totally see Dredger and Melter having permanent decals. G0lly might like the look of decals, but want to swap them out too frequently to have permanent decals, so she just has a vast collection of temp decals and constantly get more. I think Inspector would think decals are pointless but also not care about them. P03 might constantly be trying to talk G0lly out of buying another 20 decals when she only used 4 of the ones she already had.
They get something either welded on or melted into their metal parts. Like, I imagine melting parts of the metal casing to brand an image into the metal. Maybe optional to fill those grooves with a different metal for colour tattoos.
Another form might be through scratches - but that's probably more of a diy thing and probably is pretty messy but I swear someone has tried keying their own metal.
In case they feel pain, maybe a temporary planned shutdown or a small virus that overrides the pain code and deletes itself after a while?
A form of tattoo removal would be just getting that part replaced OR buffed out.
Piercings are just bits of metal welded on. Or you make a hole into the metal casing/plate and put it through like a regular piercing.
And you know how you gotta do aftercare for those things? Same here. You gotta make sure you don't get that spot rusted!
Edit; for temporary piercings, use strong magnets!
I suppose deliberately scratching or keying a design into your own metal would be like a diy stick and poke tattoo.
I thought about magnets for piercings, but it also crossed my mind that magnets could also harm a bot's hard drive. So I imagine that might be like getting a piercing and then finding out that you're allergic to the metal your piercings are made of.
Piercings could also be done by installing a removable panel with holes in it to use to wear pins. The ones where they have the rubber backings, like the ones used for enamel pins. Kinda like an ita bag insert, I guess? Or by using a very small drill bit or a drill press, which is a machine with a drill on a vertical track that you raise and lower to bore a hole through a piece of metal or wood, to do the piercing.

hey i finally remembered trans day of visibility in time to draw some stuff! idk why the students are also cowboys lmao, poe's yeehaw energy is just too strong i suppose
happy tdov to all my fellow trans folks!! you all are so epic fr
What do you think about Amber’s (Pike Mage’s) official design in the second series of Inscryption cards? I adored it honestly haha.
i really like it! i'm in the camp that it may not be exactly her, per se, since a) canonically she's still in training and b) the mage knight on the card has a sword and not a pike (though it's def implied in-game that she trains with different weapons), but it's super cool to at the very least have it confirmed that she's specifically training to be one of mag's mage knights
it's almost like an aspirational fully-realized version of amber, i can totally see her daydreaming about finally passing her exam and getting inscrybed as this badass lady knight
(had to throw in some retyrement thoughts too, this design is now officially how retyrement pike dresses for her LARP group lmao)
This weekend, I was morphed! Transformed! into the great wizard Magnificus at the KCC! After I cosplayed Leshy last year, I knew I had to cosplay my favourite Scrybe next. It was super fun getting to meet with other Inscryption cosplayers and roam around together as a little indie game posse :3
Bonus pics below the cut!

i took the switcheroo week as an excuse to finally try my hand at some scrybeswap designs! got a bit carried away as you can see, i love doing character design so much
decided to keep their species/major design elements fairly consistent (e.g. grimora's makeup, mag being vague and indistinct, leshy having nonhuman legs, p03 only having one arm) while still switching up their aesthetics as needed; super happy with all of these as a result!
design notes for each scrybe under the cut! def open to any further questions or curiosities, i always think way too hard about characters while designing them lmao
P03:
scrybe of the dead: i went for a possessed tv vibe; he's still mechanical but those bones do have a living soul trapped in them...also shoutout to @squid-hug for suggesting the x-ray machine, i was very tickled by that lmao
scrybe of beasts: overgrown old bot was kind of a given for this one, but i was also thinking that the plants are part of what's keeping him running somehow
scrybe of magicks: the magic eye is the core powering that top monitor, and the two side monitors display what he's seeing with that eye at any given time
grimora:
scrybe of beasts: she's a witch! like a chill terry pratchett kind of witch, she works with a lot of herbs and such; also her makeup is meant to mimic blood drops
scrybe of magicks: magick grimora is more of a warlock type, her magic is a lot more sinister and she almost never opens her eyes (whereas her third eye is basically always open)
scrybe of tech: tech grimora is kind of a wacky machinist-flavored dr. frankenstein; she inscribes by writing on circuitboards!
leshy:
scrybe of the dead: this leshy is a gargoyle/vampire hybrid! i thought a mirror would be fun for him bc you can get two different cultural refs; medusa (bc stone gargoyle), and the idea that vampires don't appear in mirrors!
scrybe of magicks: i decided to make him a bird guy (kinda harpy-esque) bc he's basically a more whimsical baba yaga hermit; the baba yaga thing carries over from slavic folklore obvs. also he has polycoria!
scrybe of tech: tech leshy was super fun, bc he's steampunk! rather than animal legs i gave him digitigrade robot legs, but other than that he's the most like, normal human guy here probably lmao; despite his well-adjusted appearance though i still think he's got a bit of freaky wonk in him
magnificus:
scrybe of the dead: this one was very ring-inspired lol, got those clump of hair you found in the shower drain vibes
scrybe of beasts: bush magnificus real! i think he'd be a bit more quirky trickster fae in this form
scrybe of tech: one of my favorites; tech mag is an emaciated cyborg draped in so many loose cords and wires that you can't tell what he looks like anymore. a lot of those cords are connected to him, and he plugs them in wherever as needed! he also has a drawing stylus, making him just an average art student tbh lmao

Okay. Am I the only one who doesn't think Dredger is like grandpa vibes? Is that just me because of my experiences with my grandparents or more accurately lack there of?
Like what I see most often is he's really really old, and his relationship with P03, Inspector and Melter is really parental. Which is really nice at times, but I hate that it is ALL I see of him. And it kinda feels like people don't want to give him a personality beyond "grandparent bot"
Let's not forget that there are more age groups than just "young adult" and "grandparent". Personally, I feel like if Dredger were "grandparent vibes" he would be retired.
Personally i see him as a very kind and respectful late 20s - mid 30s gentleman.
I know he is somewhat rusted but that doesn't automatically mean old. He works in the part of the factory which is most exposed to the elements and the sea. Salt water+ sea spray+ wind + metal = not a good combination.
