In Super Mario Galaxy, an oversight in the squish checking code results in Mario being able to be squished by objects moving away from him instead of toward him, which should logically be impossible.

The code only checks if an object: -is capable of killing Mario by squishing him -is currently moving -whether Mario is between the object and a solid surface Normally, this only applies when the object is moving toward the surface, resulting in it legitimately squishing Mario. However, in rare cases where the object is moving away from the surface and Mario still manages to get between them, he will also be squished, as seen in the footage.
