she takes his words into account, and as sweet as they are she refuses to crack and answer them nicely, so a nod will do for now. “ah~ of course, spoiled pretty boy after all.” she teases, never taking her eyes off of him. “you’re not like that? honestly, all men are like that. even if you decided today that i was the only one for you, you’d get bored of me eventually and move on, it happens.” the female shrugs, her words not even affecting her slightly. “there’s that next time comment again, you seem so confident there’s gonna be a next time.” hale tuts, though her smile proves he’s probably correct. “aish… so you’d cockblock me regardless? i see,” she chuckles out, nodding as she finishes up her meal. “fine, so you have..” she glances at her watch. “around 20 minutes left, what do you wanna do with this time instead of meeting your handsome brother?”

“spoiled? not at all, i just enjoy the results of my hard work” he clarifies. he lives the life he thinks he deserves. maybe his brother works much more than he does, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t helped make this place a success. “it happens, yes, but it also happens that some guys don’t get bored at all. i think i deserve the benefit of the doubt” he reminds her, since they had pretty much already agreed on that, right? “without confidence the world is a little lame” he chuckles, nodding. “exactly, i can be selfish with my brother, he’s never going to leave me so he will forgive me with time anyways” he smiles. “i want to take you home and maybe convince you to kiss me for the ten minutes we have left”

“a secret? jinjjaro? isn’t keeping secrets bad?” she questions with a tilt of her head, never wanting to get into trouble for anything. “i guess they don’t know what happens when we’re alone, ne,” the female begins to understand his words, trusting him enough to follow through on his idea just because of how nice it sounds. “that sounds… good, i just need you to only be a friend when we’re out in public, hm? you can’t touch me at all, it’s not a normal thing.” the female explains, giggling to the idea of a secret relationship since it sounds thrilling. “arasseoyo! we’re secret boyfriend and girlfriend now, oppa, how do we act now?”

“i don’t think our secret will hurt anyone, so it wouldn’t be bad because it would be making us happy?” he asks her, unsure if that is the answer she’s looking for. “exactly, we will be careful, i will be careful i promise” and he would make sure they get to spend a lot of time together, he would show her how great it was so have someone who cared by her side. “only friends, only normal things, i will be a total gentleman and i will not look at you in any other way that is not a friendly one” he promises, leaning in to kiss her one more time. “we are not in public right now so we could do this a little more”

“i mean, wouldn’t that be classified as rude? just asking you to come over when i’m bored, what kinda guy does that make me look like,” he chuckles to the thought, it being like a booty call minus the booty, it felt even more strange. “awesome, i’m really glad you’re on board with this to be honest,” kinam mumbles, nodding as he gets up to run into his computer room and download the file onto his phone. once that’s done, he rushes back into the room. “okay, you ready?” the rapper announces, waiting to hear her reply before chuckling to himself and sending out the tweet. “it’s done.”

“well, i know you’re busy, if you’re not bored then you’re probably working and wouldn’t be rude for me to ask you to call me in the middle of a project?” she asks him with interest. “i mean, you can call me whenever you want, whether you’re bored or not” and nara really wants to be able to come if he does call. she’s liking his company, a little too much, more than she ever imagined she could. “i’m more than ready” nervous as hell, but ready. this was the first time she is doing something like this, and she’s always worried about backlash. “does it not kill you? to wait for people’s opinions? i’m always scared of the hate, so you should probably tell me if we’ve made a mistake or not”

“ah~ now you’re just trying to flatter me miss,” he teases, chuckling the instant he hears the female laugh. “oh… well, do make your mind up soon i am an impatient boy.” eungun chuckles out, nodding to her words before there’s a minor setback in them. “w-wait, i…” though he’s unsure if she’s joking or not, either way he’s bucked up the courage to ask her to go to dinner with him, he’s waited long enough for this never mind being allowed to kiss her at the end of it all. “your lipstick is safe with me, i’ll be gentle noona.” he coos in an overly-sweet manner, even cringing to his own words. “aish, this girl… you bring out the gross side of me, y’know that?”

“maybe” she replies, shaking her head as she really thinks that eungun does not get her signals. does she have to kiss him first for him to make a move on her? probably, and even when she’s not against the idea she is dying to know if maybe there’s a more brave side on him, one that would just take from her what he wants instead of waiting for her permission all the time. “that’s too bad” she honestly tells him, her lipstick wanting to be ruined by his lips. “is that supposed to be a compliment?”

she smirks to the instant praise she receives, chuckling to his almost gentlemanly remark. “something tells me you can finish in more than one place.” she comments, referring to how long the male could last and how many times over he could reach his peak. a brow cocks to his suggestion, giggling as she moves from the floor to sit on his lap, though properly sit on his lap playing it innocent. the bare skin of aleah’s rear resting against his legs as she turns her feet to rest them on the couch as she sits sideways on top of him. “like this? waeyo? wanna read me a story?” the blonde quirks, a gleam of mischievousness in her eyes though she plays it innocent.

“i hope you do,” he nods, a smile on his features just due to getting to sit with her here like this. her question causes him to sit up straight, a nod instantly following as he chuckles softly. “ne! i mean…  i’d like that. as much as i don’t mind…” he clears his throat, a small cheeky comment to her lack of clothing before his eyes find her own again. “i’d like a proper date, is there anything you’ve wanted to do as a date before? or in general? i’ll take you anywhere you wanna go.” that was true, really, he’d do anything for the girl. 

“as much as you don’t mind that i’m naked” she finishes his sentence, laughing entertained. she thinks of it for a second, deciding to be completely honest with him. “i’m not against going to your place now, if that’s what you want too” she tells her, tilting her head “i’ve never been to an attraction park, i’ve always seen in dramas that those dates are cute. or something by the han river, walking there could be nice too” she tells him, thinking that her ideas for dates are not really original “watch a movie maybe?” she asks, unsure if that’s the type of dates he’s used to.

  everything went too fast, the small gears in his teeny tiny brain were working full hours now. one second she threatened to leave and he got mad, now she was laughing and he felt his heart BLOSSOM. ‘’i think this is– it’’ too afraid to say the words, byul simply opened his bag and took out hi trusty notebook, flipping trough it before finding hyeri’s page and began scribbling away. at the bottom of the page with bold letters he wrote ‘GIRLFRIEND OBTAINED’ and a smile spread his petals, cheeks nearly hurting as the boy showed her the page.

hyeri just looks at him, part of her breaking for him because he shouldn’t have to write these things, she wished byul, from everyone in the world, didn’t have to struggle so much. she wishes she could help him somehow but maybe, just maybe, the way she can help him is by sharing her feelings with him? to give him all the love she knows he deserves? she smiles when she sees the page, and takes it from his hand, borrowing his pen and adding her own part. ‘PERMISSION TO KISS HER WHENEVER YOU WANT, AND MUCH MORE. DON’T BE SHY SHE WANTS IT” she gives him back the page, waiting for him to read it. “i thought it was fair to add that part”

“fate…” she repeated as the idea was becoming more convincing. although ‘fate’ wouldn’t be the word she’d use. more like a back-up plan for daejung that could be beneficial for the both of them. because a scam on their families couldn’t really be tied to fate, or any good fate. they were definitely bound for disaster down the road, but with the temptation of temporarily being relieved of her mother’s nagging during her stay; she didn’t want to think of future consequences.

“your grandma’s ring? okay, then we can easily explain that.” at the mention of letting her say whatever she wanted proposal wise, ara couldn’t help the wicked grin that appeared on her face. “you can’t take that back. it will be the proposal story of all proposal stories.” she smiled nonchalantly as they continued walking as she offhandedly remarked. “fine, be a very affectionate man, but just remember I’m a very violent woman.” 

as they arrived in front of her house, she stopped and exhaled deeply. “by now your parents have probably called and my mom is probably preparing even more food than what she had ready for my arrival to celebrate.” resigning to the idea she closed her eyes. “okay, fine. let’s do it.” opening her eyes and turning towards him, “let’s get fake engaged, daejung.”

“see? this is not as complicated as you might have thought at first. i’m a very vague man so i don’t give much details about anything. it means you can go absolutely crazy with details and i will just nod and agree” he assures her, thinking that there’s no reason why that would be a bad thing. “as long as you don’t make me sound dumb then i’m fine. believe it or not i’m able to be a very romantic man when i want to” so her story probably could be something he could do. he’s confident that this is for the best, so if looking like a prince charming is what will take him to convince everyone then he will happily do it.

“by now the entire neighborhood knows” he comments, stopping her when she starts walking. “wait, wait, there’s just one more thing” he starts, again thinking of his plan “shouldn’t we stay together? we can ask my dad for the apartment they rent, it’s currently looking for renters so we could take it. it would be easier to pretend to be engaged if we are not questioned separately you know”

“As long as you take good care of her…” Leks answered as she watched him get ready to work. His jokes brightened her mood and because of how much she hated having someone watch over her shoulder, she moved away from him to stand by the garage door, leaning against the frame and crossing her arms over her chest. “Oh, so confident,” Leks said with a smile. “What if I told you she was into girls instead? That I’m the one into good-looking mechanics?”

“i always take good care of my ladies” he tells her with a cheeky smile, starting to work on her as he searches for the reason of her malfunction. “i’ve always been told that confidence is what suits a person the most. i might not have fancy clothes but i don’t lack in the confidence department” he tells her, moving some pieces as he laughs because of her words. “well, i would have to say it’s two then, since i’m super into girls who can get dirty on cars” he laughs, looking at her as he discovers the problem “it’s the clutch. it’s not worn of you would have noticed it, i’ll just replace the slave cylinder  and you should be fine”

for a second there, youjin was sure he misheard her when  mentioned a second date. after their blind date, he was sure they never see each other again and now there they were having a conversation while heavily flirting with each other. “it wasn’t his fault…” he chuckled while defending his best friend. if it hadn’t been for youjin’s stupid comments the date wouldn’t have been so annoying but he didn’t feel like adding that when things were going so well. “well if that’s the case, i guess we have to go out again, right?” he held her eyes with a cheeky smile, “i mean, i can’t let you blame poor sungjin! think of all the horrible things that could happen, the guilt doesn’t let him ask out your friend, ah young, which causes him to spiral into horrible depression which then causes him to play poorly and boom!” he claps while making the sound before continuing his dramatic rant. “-injury which in turn then botches his whole volleyball career.” he sighs dramatically while shaking his head.

he chuckles and bites his lower lip softly wondering how she could be so cute. “thanks?” he cocks his head to the side pretending to be deep in thought over her words. “i’m sure he will go if ah young’s there and in a bathing suit, no less.” he adds with a cheeky grin, also not to mention so would hyerin but he wasn’t going to say that risking angering her. “awesome! when we finish you can save my number then i can text you the details for the match and you can text the details for yours.” his competitive side is spurned when she proposes a race. “ohhhh are you sure you’re ready for that, angel?” he gauges the distances in quick glance and smiles slyly at her with a nod. he takes off with a chuckle, for most of the race they kept the same pace but near the end of the track his ankle began to sting and he trailed lost to her. With a groan, he sat down on the track and looked up at her. “how uncool do i look right now?”

“us girls enjoy having someone to blame that is not us” she tells him, completely sure that she also did wrong, it’s just easier to put the blame on someone else instead of admitting that she could also be a nasty asshole when she wants to. “i guess we have” she replies, feeling quite satisfied of how everything was turning out to be. “it’s a really serious matter now, if we don’t go out again an entire career could be over and i’m not good at dealing with that amount of guilt. we basically have no choice” yet the smile on her face pretty much proved that she was more than happy with going out with him now. oh, how fast things can change. “plus, not only your friend would be affected. ah young will eat so much ice cream if he doesn’t ask her out that she’ll get diabetes. it’s a health issue as well” like they needed any other reason, she thought with a smile.

“ thank you!” she exclaims with a smile before stepping outside. suddenly she laughs remembering that this is his third coffee and laughs nervously feeling bad for making him go through that. “by the way, i’m so sorry about all the coffees, were they good?” she adds with a pained smile. “good! food first then, there’s a great place nearby that makes the best fried chicken in the area. wanna check it out?” she asks hoping he says yes. “i suddenly pictured this as one of the stories of last night’s show.” she laughs with a hand over her mouth then shakes her head. “but worry not, i promise not to walk out as long as you don’t hurl near my feet.” with each silly joke, she hopes to break the ice and become more comfortable with each other. 

“i’ve always wondered why you guys named the show insomniacs? is it because of the time or does it have any other meanings?” maybe talking about the thing they had in common would ease their nerves, it was a good place to start. 

“i don’t really like much coffee? i mean, i kind of survived based on it otherwise i would be sleepy all day, but i think everything taste pretty much the same” he tells her with a chuckle, thinking that there was nothing she should be sorry of. he finally found her, that’s all he cares about. in his opinion, those three coffees were absolutely worth it. “sure, i actually love chicken” he tells her, chuckling at her words. “well, thank you, you’re so considerate” he laughs, enjoying each second in her company.

“well, it’s pretty much because we think people hearing us at that time are those who have troubles sleeping, we wanted to give them some company. you know when you’re so stressed out that you even freak out when you can’t sleep? we wanted to give those some company so they could feel like there was nothing wrong with being awake so late” he explains, taking a lot more words than he expected at first.

“thank you,” the girl brightened at his words. it was the first time she had heard encouraging words about her dream. at most people follow up with questions of ‘why?’ or say ‘well, that’s the long way around to being a doctor,’ but she ignored them. usually it was the elitist members at her college (and her family) who were also studying medicine, but to be neurosurgeons or cardiologists. “oh i’m sure they are too. somewhere deep, deeeep down.” she joked lightly with a smile. it was best to not get into serious, parental talk today of all days.

“darn,” she laughed with him. “if I can’t get you to believe that I’m of the top 1% than no one will,” not that she wasn’t too well off, but definitely not enough to buy two brand new sponsored cars. her family was slightly above average, and strove for her to better. looking up at the sky, she smiled and explained happily, “yay! what perfect timing.” reaching into the basket she took out the blanket and hurriedly laid it out so the wouldn’t miss it completely. when the blanket was set good enough, she sat down first then patted next to her and looked up at him with a cute, expectant smile. 

jitae enjoys her company so much that it really depresses him to think of everything ending so soon. he is really trying to focus on the now, yet he knows that time is against them and as much as he tries to ignore it it seems like he can’t let it go. his life has been divided in two now, the life he had before meeting her and the life he would have after going back home. it scares him to think that these are all the memories he will have of her, and it somehow breaks his heart to think this way. “i’m sure you can get me to believe whatever you want” it’s the truth, since she has him wrapped around her finger.

instead of sitting next to her he decides to sit behind her, his legs at her sides and his arms wrapped around her small frame. “this way you won’t get cold, and you’ll be much more comfortable” she could rest her body against his and he could try to memorize her warmth and lovely smell. “i’m going to miss this a lot”
