From Relief Teaching Ideas:
On the white paper (plain popcorn) I wrote numbers, on the yellow (buttered popcorn) I wrote math symbols (+ – x ). Depending on your class year level, you can choose larger or smaller numbers, and the types of symbols, to suit the students’ abilities.
You could also enlist the help of the students to write on the pieces of paper. That would make it a lot easier to create enough boxes for each group or pair. Store the popcorn pieces in ziplock bags for later use.
Students can then choose 2 pieces of white popcorn and 1 piece of yellow. They write the equation and answer in their books.
Interesting math idea.
Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn.

Teachers teach because they care. Teaching young people is what they do best. It requires long hours, patience, and care.

#DEARTeachers,
We want to know about your experience in a VERTICAL TEAM at your school.
Does your school actively encourage vertical teaming?
Perhaps at the elementary level, this may look like the Kindergarten - 2nd grade teachers regularly meeting to make sure that their lessons, activities, and goals are aligned.
At the middle/high school level, this may occur during departmental meetings, where the head of the department facilitates each grade level building on the other throughout the year. Â
How often does your school have vertical teaming meetings? Â Are they productive and do you, as an educator, truly feel part of the process?
Let us know about your experiences.
#DEARTeachers,
What are your goals for this new school year?
Do you set personal goals for yourself as an educator?
How about goals for your class as a whole or even individual students?
Do you have personal goals for yourself as a larger team at your school?
What about goals for yourself outside of work?
Reblog / Reply with your goals for this 2014-2015 school year!
Infinity Educational Services Announces Ed Partnerships
IES has recently partnered with some great educational organizations/products.

2. The Answer Pad by Blue Ribbon
The Answer Pad was created out of a number of pain points that were learned along the way. The Answer Pad is a work in progress. Our team works closely with teachers to get feedback from the classroom to make improvements. You can learn more about their product here.
3. Mind over Math Tutoring
Mind over Math currently offers tutoring and test prep for students who need reinforcement in all Math subjects. Â Their site is currently under development.
