tbh people are freaking out about the timmy c. opera/ballet comments because they're afraid to acknowledge that he was just expressing an extremely average opinion not just for a young person but for someone of any age and they're scared to admit that classical music/performance DOES have a branding problem and to a diminishing extent still an accessibility problem. how many people calling him an asshole have even so much as listened to an opera let alone regularly patronise the art. be serious

i do think, with all due respect to 99% of my colleagues, putting midterms the week before spring break so you have the break for grading is NOT the move. the correct play is doing midterms a little early and pushing your mind body and patience past all comprehensible human limits to get your grading done before spring break so you can take a whole week to actually fucking relax
