every statement williams makes sounds like it's coming from someone's shitty boyfriend who keeps forgetting their anniversary
patient king
i just think at this point the events of this season and the way that it’s being discussed in traditional media has convinced so many random (unfortunately loud) f1 fans that the *decision* to lift for a yellow flag is up to the driver in any way. lifting for a yellow flag is the expectation in all cases: even if ultimately it is discovered the yellow flag was the wrong decision, it was displayed in the wrong place, it wasn’t intended for you - whatever. it doesn’t fucking matter because the driver is entirely unable to assess all or even ANY of the relevant factors that would cause race control to yellow or red flag a race. to my understanding, for the safety of EVERYONE involved they must react uniformly to all flags.
i’m seeing so much random ragebait about how charles and lewis’s “choice” to lift for a yellow flag was their own “problem” and how if they really wanted a better position they should have done what george did a couple races ago. what the everloving fuck. sometimes the f1 fanbase is a group of people who’ve so genuinely lost sight of this entire endeavor, who miss the forest for the trees in such a big way. in all sports health and wellbeing are priority - but in the fast machine sport? in the fast machine sport where the whole conceit is to go fast take multiple G’s even in a corner forget a crash??? safety is like the ONLY thing that matters at the end of the day
and this season it’s not just armchair critics that are putting this in jeopardy it’s the tv direction, the comms, and the goddamn fia
The ragebaiters have said that only cheaters are allowed to prosper. (George Russell wasn't cheating, because he thought he was within the regulations, but people who know they need to slow down and then deliberately don't - as the ragebaiters request - would be cheats). I hope they realise that to reasonable people, they've just told everyone that they hate sport and only want to see a random bunch of people creating chaos in a vaguely athletic way. It feels like they wandered in from the Caught on Dashcam fandom. And, too, that they don't respect the activity that the drivers are doing anyhow. They apparently prefer dead drivers to successful ones. Well done, Lewis and Charles, for doing the right thing even if it was under an erroneous observation. I would much rather drivers did what you did than deliberately ignore yellow flags because it means they get to go faster. And if the FIA keeps this up, we might have to have Lewis to become FIA Emergency President to replace the current one.

late summer / early fall thoughts
without the yellow he could've had p3
a yellow in the pitlane the fia need to die
Does anyone know why there was a yellow in the pits? That seems like an important detail here.
they called hadjar in while he was coming in the pit lane and told him to stop there instead of letting him pull in where there's the space in front of the garage to weigh the cars. there were clips showing some guy stepping in front of the car to tell him to park there and then they had to signal the presence of the car in the pit lane, but the marshal shouldn't have waved the flag, in the race direction notes it was specifically said it was supposed to be shown static and at a lower position toward the pit lane.
^ this is how it was shown in the FIA document
v this is how it was on track (waving for Charles, lowered for Lewis who said it didn't affect him)
one thing it is imperative to know about the television show Widow’s Bay is that it was created by katie dippold whose name you may not immediately recognize but whose tweet from 10 years ago you definitely do:
all the flyers fans who are like “we should have just tanked 10 years ago and gotten a 1C then!!” well we did. and his name was nolan patrick. 😐

not naming names but some of you are so creative and talented it's an honor to have you in my phone
people foolishly dismiss desserts and treats as having no nutritional value when they actually are necessary for refilling your sanity stat. to prove my point please observe the emotional stability of the next person you meet who doesnt let themselves ever eat any form of dessert
fucking hell they mistook the yellow flag at the entrance of the pitlane 😫
the marshal was not supposed to wave it there 🤦🏻♀️ there's even a picture explaining it in the race notes
Naomi: "Kimi, you are standing next to two half Belgians, how does it feel to steal the glory from them here?"
Kimi: "[Turns to them] You're half Belgian??"
Max: "Yes, both of us"

Charles on losing time in Q3
"I was pretty pissed off at the end of my lap, because there was a yellow flag in the final corner. The steward was in the middle of the pit lane, so I thought it was a yellow flag for the final corner. I backed off. I don't think we would have made P2, but i think P4 (P3) would have been possible."
are they talking about the fuckass yellow flag at the end of charles' lap on sky sports or are they just gonna let people think ferrari was shit in the third sector?
