i don't know what's going on with the brakes in relation to his setup. i just know from the statements we have been hearing that these brakes (that don't seem to have a solution) are exacerbated by the kind of setup charles requires of a car

charles himself believes this is not solvable without sacrificing something out of the car and he was not willing to do that in monaco of all places and we have seen he's clearly fast around here but with no confidence on brakes that keep switching on him every lap

therefore, charles and the team hope the barcelona upgrades will address the issue. as it is obviously a symptom of the miami upgrades and was not a thing for him at the start of the season

the thing is.... i do not believe, not even a second —that they developed the braking in this way to suit hamilton's style

whatever they brought to miami has simply completely eliminated the preferred braking setup option for leclerc and he's been struggling with finding one that suits him since then

ferrari have a very complicated intricate system of braking with tyres that rely heavily on it, as in, we cannot turn on the tyres without this special braking setup

so what they have done is just lean even further into engine braking and i genuinely do not have the knowledge or expertise to explain to you how and why they did that but i do know it's helping hamilton because it's a little similar to what he used to have at mercedes with the brake magic

charles wants a car with an extremely strong front and very strong braking and those two cannot happen with the current system and that's why they can't find a solution for it

the brakes are unpredictable for him one minute they're fine the other they're not
