Swap!AU
Fox is the rebel (British punk subculture of the 2000s) and Wolf is the millionaire playboy (Canadian business tycoon). While originally checking out Woodland for real-estate investment, Wolf stumbles across prey he simply HAS to have. Only he might have to split it with... rather touchy company.
@le-rowr-rowr some more info for the au!
Terrapin and Rabbit are also swapped, with Rabbit being a coward after his wife's death and overprotective of his remaining family. He's more frequently frazzled and is more comfortable in a cardigan. Gardening is a safe activity he allows himself to enjoy, especially since a cabbage raid sounds too risky.
Lucy is way more interested in skateboarding and thrill-seeking, anything to get away from an overprotective parent. Including antagonizing the Fox who would gladly eat her just for the thrill of the chase. Unruly, rebellious, Barry and Simon are in awe.
Terrapin is more understanding of Lucy. With his shell comes an added layer of confidence when protecting Lucy from whatever predicament she's gotten into with Fox. All the adventurous Terrapin stuff from his concept art.
Barry and Simon are much more respectful and considerate kids, extremely independent despite their spoiled upbringing because Wolf was quite strict. Meeting Lucy is a breath of fresh air and makes them feel like the kids they are again, just in khaki board shorts and dress shirts that Wolf will grumble about getting stained when they get home. They're a little bit smarter in this AU, but naive.
Fox is a lot less refined in his approach. He relies more on his agility but will exploit a simple cheat any time he sees it. He's far more focused on Lucy since she's more often in public, but will completely disregard her when a larger prey animal like Terrapin or Rabbit come to rescue her. Most of the time though, Lucy is more than capable of running away by herself.
Wolf is very aware of his repressed sexuality but his family doesn't know. And the family business is something he takes *very* seriously. Because of that, he's never acted on his feelings. But... maybe a harmless romance abroad wouldn't be so bad.
