 I had a good birthday. Drove home from my dads house and he is staying at my place for a few days to help on a few more house tasks. The trip was long today since I had a detour from the normal drive to visit a site for work. But that allowed me to stay up there 2 more days and not drive down on parents wedding anniversary, since that is a hard day or dad emotionally being a widower. Other bonus is the cost of gas for my trip to visit family is reimbursable by work since my visit technically qualifies as a business trip as a result.

Waiting to hear back the results from my virus testing yesterday. I don’t have any symptoms but did it because of my job and the travel elements that occur where I’m flying across the country somewhat regularly. It is as uncomfortable as described in terms of how the test is taken.

Getting tested Saturday morning for the virus. I have no symptoms for the record. Its because I’m a critical infrastructure worker who has to work at times outside of home. Especially considering I have been travelling across the country by plane several times the past 6 weeks. I just got back from flying to Colorado and Arizona and was in Florida two weeks ago. 5-5 weeks ago I was in St. Louis, Boston, and Houston during all of this.

I want to wish my friends the best of health these days, since this is a challenging time for all of us. Just take care of yourselves and look out for each other, especially those who are more at-risk or in areas where there is an outbreak cluster.

Been waiting for a couple of weeks to get a promotion and raise sorted out. Reason is it that it is tied up in potential legal paperwork. The idea is for me to be named the engineer of record for the company which is a legal term and involves legal and professional responsibilities on my part which is why the raise is there. One thing to sort out to is if as a requirement for that title there is a requirement to have an equity stake in the company which would mean have a small ownership stake in it.

This time of year is a bit harder on me this year with the breakup a few months ago. I’m not too happy about being single again, in part wondering if anyone could fall for me which has always been a concern of mine. Then again with my personality type these sorts of things are among the biggest challenges i have in my life since i’m not a warm and fuzzy person.

Its been nice that i have been able to be visiting family a week longer for Thanksgiving due to work. Seems like every time i plan on visiting family something comes up in the area that I can pick up and combine with visit. Also get to have my travel costs reimbursed for the trip since it ends up counting as a business trip.

Having a romantic relationship end is not fun. Just need some cheering up as a result. Though, I am still very close friends with her since to be honest I understand her reasons and we did not close the door on something after some personal issues are resolved.

Kicking back and relaxing for my birthday today. Thinking back it has been one of the most impressive years I have had in a long time if not ever. Just in the past year I have started an amazing relationship with someone, found a new job that pays significantly more with a much better career track, and moved far away as a result of this job. The next year may be just as life changing if not moreso the way its going.
