Pick up Titan from the first library you come across so that we can exchange views on it; once you’ve read it, you’ll be grateful to me; I repeat, read Titan, otherwise I’ll start to look down on you."
Juli 1794 statt

mid-year book freakout tag 2026
as well as @evgenythegreat (who tagged me! thanks again), i also have to check a lot of articles during the semester... but let's see what i can say about books
books read thus far — i remember 9?? (my memory's become a mess lately,,, i have a feeling there was something i read and then forgot entirely. and also i think there were some i started but dropped in the process. didn't count those)
best one — schiller's don carlos i suppose. or another one i'll mention later
best sequel — does the second book of schumann's letters count? //j
no but seriously i don't really read cycles so there's none
most anticipated new release — i don't really track that. and there's barely a way something new can appear in the area of my interests in general so yeah
biggest surprise author — considering i've been just reading all the hyperfixations stuff there's no surprises. except loseva maybe? i was bit shocked when i found a big and useful book about schumann in my native language and it wasn't zhitomirsky
newest fictional crush — MARQUIS DE POSA!!!!! please. it's not something out of the ordinary but i love this guy.
book that made you cry — i never cry because of books but. one of this year's discoveries nearly turned out to be an exception. *sniffle*
("if schumann had a diary". there was a rather thorough description of his suicide attempt and i'll never move on from that.)
most beautiful book bought/received: they're all kinda ordinary? i think i'll get to buy something new and cool in a few days though. but if i must choose right now it's this one (it's also that second candidate for the best book i've read this year):
god bless the person who decided to put the sweethearts on one spread it's perfect
book that made you happy — it's just the one above, memories about robert schumann. heaven knows how many times i smiled stupidly when reading this
what books do you need to read by the end of this year? — i gotta get back to jean paul's titan. it's hard but i gotta just. get myself together and do this
aaaand tagging! (sorry if i'm bothering you people i'm just pretty curious about your answers)
