my stance on the trans athlete debate is always and forever going to be that sports should be completely desegregated because humans have one of the smallest levels of sexual dimorphism in the animal kingdom and the disparity we see between male and female performance is entirely caused by social factors rather than anything biological. “should trans women compete against cis women” i think cis men and cis women could compete fairly but that’s apparently a little too spicy for people to wrap their minds around bc they’ve been told their whole lives women are biologically inferior & never thought to question that. or wonder if it’s maybe a self fulfilling prophecy of some kind. are women biologically inferior or do they appear so because patriarchy demands that of us?

Goosefeather! He is Bluestar's uncle and the doomed 'destined' medicine cat in thunderclan at the beginning of Bluestar's Prophecy. For a long time that was all we knew of him, and that he chased Crookedstar into the stepping stone that broke his jaw, before he got his own novella. With that short story though he presents an intresting premise of a cat with arguably more prophetic power than Jayfeather with no ability to change the course of history, forced to know every evil long before it comes to pass with no way to prevent it. This explanation both confirms and contradicts his 'future' behavior in Bluestar's prophecy in that his fatalistic nature makes way more sense, but his part played especially in Moonflower's death seems almost apathetic on re read. I don't know! he's an interesting character but I walk away from his narrative not knowing what readers are supposed to take from it besides everything is doomed and we have no free will haha. Fan assigned goracle (gay oracle) based on vibes

I was talking about this with someone yesterday but I do think it's odd that in the Silm fandom enjoying one character often seems to be viewed as code for necessarily disliking another and/or as apologetics. What if I told you I think they all suck to some degree and I enjoy all of them very much

Motivation for myself

I obtained the original Spirit that breyer produced nearly a year ago as a birthday present from my mother, which I am grateful for.

Though he came badly scuffed up, his forelock is slightly loose, I had to glue his tail back in place, and I had to fix his broken leg (hence the clay, I still need to sand it).

I've been putting off painting him due to being worried about messing him, so in a way this is me trying to motivate myself to finally repaint him and hopefully do him justice.

I'm also not blaming the person I obtained him from or shaming them, I can tell he was previously well loved and I am glad to know that he made someone else happy at one point.
