alrighty here is my baby pandora <3 i’m rlly excited for her but she’s definitely less fleshed out than rohan so we’ll be learning about her together abdhfjnk

ok so contrary to mister grump over there ,, pandora actually had amazing parents! she grew up w her mom and her dad and they gave her everything she could possibly want/need

the only problem was....she wanted more

she grew up seeing her mom maintain the home and her father go to work everyday to support the family but something felt off. she couldn’t stand the fact that her dad had that power over them, over her mother. she respected how hard her mom worked and did consider raising two kids a full-time job, but she never wanted to have to depend on a man, or anyone for that matter

slowly but surely, pandora became the socially aware daughter that some parents probably fear having. she was a self-declared feminist by the age of 7, proudly standing before her classmates at recess and demanding the girls be allowed to play football with the boys

and her interests in social change didn’t stop there, instead becoming heavily involved in various community service projects over the years

she began attending marches for various movements at the age of 13, sneaking out to participate in protests and rallies rather than partying with her peers 

additionally, she worked her ass off in school, deciding she wanted out from under her parents as soon as possible. they’d done nothing wrong, she’d just always longed for freedom and couldn’t risk being caught in her hometown for the rest of her life

she graduated high school at 17 and, with such a long list of community involvement and her stellar gpa, she was on her way to brown to complete a degree studying gender and sexuality. 

somewhere along the way she realized that she loved teaching others of the topic, so she decided to continue on to get her phd and become a professor. 

during her undergraduate career, she actually met and fell in love with someone, resulting in them getting married while she was in grad school. it was all very sudden, one of the most impulsive things she’d ever done, but she was in love and she believed it was the right thing to do so she did. it was only after she graduated with her phd that she realized their goals were no longer aligned and it was time for a big change

so, at 25, she set off for italy as a recently graduated divorcee with a whole lot of spunk and a passion for passing on her knowledge 

present 

pandora has been in italy for 3 years, like i said above

basically she ended her marriage, applied for jobs abroad and when she got one, she simply packed her bags and left ! 

she settled on italy because she thought it’d give her the freedom she desired while still providing a stable paycheck and so far it has

she travels when she’s able to, mostly during school breaks, but she also devotes a lot of her time to conducting research. she wants to be a sex therapist someday, so she’s been dabbling with different projects to inspire her thesis

basically pandora just...does what she wants lmao somedays you’ll find her at cute cafes enjoying a coffee and grading papers, others she won’t want to leave her house. the reason she loves living abroad so much is because there’s no one here who can tell her what to do, which is exactly what she wants. basically, no one knew her here and she didn’t know anyone so it just made sense as the perfect escape. things have obviously changed, i’m sure, but anyone who’s close to her knows she’s a free bird

she has a cute little apartment above a family-owned restaurant and considers all of the stray alley cats to be her pets (much to the distaste of the restaurant owners)

her place is lined with bookshelves, all full of different feminist theory or books she’s bought but never had time to read

she teaches at a local university and absolutely adores her job. she teaches various courses in the gender department, most of them focusing on feminism but some merely exploring sex and sexuality. she likes it all, so she’s content teaching anything really 

yeah i dont really know what else to add here but uhhhh basically she’s vibing in italy ahsjbfgkn

personality 

alRIGHT so pandora might be what the kids call,, too much 

she’s very outspoken, very blunt, and just generally not willing to take anyone’s bullshit

yes she is that person who will call people out in social settings when she thinks they’re wrong/being insensitive and yes thats valid

still very passionate about activism so she’s probably constantly bringing up politics/social change and lovessss to engage in intellectual conversation

shes a sucker for a good brain if ur smart she probably loves u 

she’s v sex positive and pretty open about sex and its power 

she thinks it’s pretty beautiful when two people can open up to one another in such a vulnerable way HOWEVER she is also a strong advocate for casual sex and has her fair share bc it’s just her preference

she isn’t a cynic, far from it actually, as she’s seen what a good love looks like and wanted one of her own. she’s just terrified of commitment and being stuck in one place, or tied to one person forever. she never wants to be in a position where she can’t do what she wants or say what she pleases. basically, she needs someone who won’t try to tame her or change her but just kinda lets her do her thing and thats hard to find

she felt v suffocated in her marriage just bc her partner was ready to buy a house and start having kids and she just...wasnt 

pandora thinks of herself as a challenge. if you can stick around and come out the other side, good for you. if you can’t take the heat, then she’s not bothered and you shouldn’t be either. 

she comes off kind of cocky probably??

she’s very self-assured and confident in herself as a person and understands that society fears powerful women so she just refuses to back down <3 she wants to be a powerhouse and she doesn’t care about the people who want to stand in her way 

generally a sweet girl, just a little bold for some people. she’s the kind of person who shows up with flowers, no matter the occasion, because she thinks everyone deserves a gift

she’s ambitious but won’t step on other people to grow

she’s determined but she isn’t ruthless 

she actually loves vulnerability and thinks it’s a really powerful thing to be so open with other people and show the deepest parts of yourself, so she’s pretty much an open book

she’s pretty comfortable being emotional in front of other people and actually encourages it when other people may show theirs

idk she’s just a nice lady making a name for herself and won’t let anyone get in her way <3

wanted connections 

alright so i mentioned it briefly in her background portion, but she does have a sibling and i would love to see this dynamic if anyone is interested, even w future charas that are brought in 

can be a brother or a sister, but would probably be younger

i imagine they could either be really close, or somewhat distant. maybe they grew up super close and then she left at 17 and never looked back and broke her siblings heart? or perhaps they’ve always been close and as soon as her sibling was old enough, they moved out to italy to be w their big sis....idk im open i just love siblings i think they’re juicy 

unlike rohan, pandora is very comfortable with casual sex and probably has a string of fwbs or ex-flings so that’s always a possibility 

honestly maybe her ex???? whoever she divorced??? i purposely left their info kind of vague bc i was secretly hoping for this connection hehe but yeah literally if anyone wants to do this we could change their history too im not rlly opposed i just think it would be juicy <3

ok this might be a lot but i think it would be cute to have like a trio plot ??? or honestly it doesn’t even have to be a trio but i love the idea of her havin a little girl gang that she gets brunch w on the weekends or brings fresh pastries to 

perhaps your muse or their family owns the restaurant that pandora lives above, so they run into each other often or consider each other family friends

a childhood friend that pandora convinced to come live in italy. maybe they were roommates for a time or pandora simply helped them get settled elsewhere (maybe she referred them to the bnb lmao) but nonetheless, now they have each other

maybe one of her students? idk if anyone has a student muse so this could be for the future too but yeah idk maybe she’s a mentor to them or maybe they really hate her class so they just constantly get into debates about shit 

someone who challenges her intellectually, whether they have different opinions from her or just like to pose challenging questions so the two can get into deep discussion

okay so you know those horror stories of parents using their child’s ss# and information to basically steal their identity and open credit cards and accounts of debt during their childhood so that by the time they hit 18 they’re just fucked??? or parents who do that even after you turn 18??? yeah well those were rohan’s parents <3

basically around the time rohan was 15 years old, his parents fell on some hard times but didn’t want their appearance in their community to suffer so they just decided to start taking credit cards and small loans out in their son’s name so that by the time he was an adult and ready to build and use his credit, he was already in collections and set up for failure

he didn’t know that his parents were doing this because they assumed they’d be able to pay the money back once they got back on their feet but that never happened so they just kept digging themselves deeper and deeper

they realized that they really liked to live above their means and they just couldn’t stop throwing away money like it didn’t matter even tho they actually had none. it was easy for them to just slide a card and worry about it later.

by the time he turned 18 and was really ready to start building his credit, he found out about what his parents did. he ended up forgiving them and to try and fix the debt, rohan stayed home from college and ended up working full-time so that he could help his parents get back on track. he started working his ass off and really thought that they would all be able to turn things around. he worked and worked and didn’t understand why nothing was changing, and by the time he was 21 his parents had wracked up tens of thousands of dollars in debt in his name from various lines of credit

he wanted to help his family but ultimately he was just naive to their selfishness. they were really willing to go to any length to help themselves over him

this betrayal of trust really fucked him up and basically he decided that his entire life had been thrown away, a life that he had generally worked pretty hard at and it really upset him that he threw it all away for parents he couldn’t even stand to look at anymore.

anyway it was a really cold hard hit from reality <3

although he couldn’t rely on his parents for anything after that, he did realize that they taught him something valuable: how easy it is to steal. he realized that so long as the person was ignorant to it, or even just a little dumb, he’d likely be able to commit identity theft the same way his parents did, though he’d do it much, much better. he’d simply never get caught.

basically he started lowkey stealing credit card numbers from customers at his last job and realized it was easier than he expected it to be. that eventually escalated to identity fraud in order to take out new credit cards, and soon he grew really comfortable hiding behind fake identities on a computer screen.

to make himself harder to track, he hopped on a plane to europe and was bouncing between countries every few months for two years before he landed in italy and happened to stay at a beaten up little bnb. although he was originally pissed that he was clearly being scammed, the people he met during his stay there made him feel at home and even though he wouldn’t admit it, he felt like he belonged with these idiots.

he wanted to stay but knew he’d need to earn his keep, so he offered to take on the custodial job at the bnb so he’d have a higher chance of getting to stay plus he was tired of complaining about the mysterious puddles always showing up around the bnb and never being mopped up.

he’s actually been able to evade the authorities for his entire time traveling, so he’s feeling really comfortable and confident in the bnb rn

that was until he got arrested with muse h

he moved abroad when he was 21 and would basically spend about 6 months in each country, starting in england, until he wound up in italy when he was 23. he stayed at the bnb and wound up really liking the people in the house, despite himself, and decided to stick around.

honestly he does pretty good at his job as the custodian because he likes to keep things pretty tidy and as much as he probably tries to hide it, he’s pretty dependable so he’d clean pretty well to a certain extent AGVHSBDJNFG but he’s also lazy due to selfishness so he probably never goes out of his way to fix up the things he’s not responsible for. like he definitely gets his cleaning done for the day and then just hides in the supply closet to fuck around on his phone for a while

he’s gna see something going wrong and just turn the other way bc that’s not his problem AGHBSJDNFKGL

yeah he’s just selfish idk <3

kinda just vibing idk he probably annoys everyone in the bnb bc he’s constantly acting like he’s annoyed/doesn’t wanna be there but deep down he’s just happy to be free of his parents

like i said he’d probably never admit it, but this is the closest he’s come to feeling like he has a home in 3 years

he might be kinda soft at times for the people he’s closest to in the bnb so they’ll see this but he will literally never actually admit it abjhdfnabshd

he obviously steals money so he’s not doing too bad for himself, he’s definitely eating and probably pops up with a nice pair of shoes every few months that everyone is side eyeing like where the FUCK did u get those....but yeah idk he tries to live kinda modestly just bc he doesn’t wanna risk getting caught

he does have good fashion sense tho so most of his money probably goes to splurging on expensive/nicer clothes bc he’s v proud of his wardrobe

honestly if he’s ever asked to help clean rooms he probably goes through the guests belongings looking for card info abhsdjfngkm so thats how he contributes ig <3

personality

he is actually super family-oriented and was really close with his family before they betrayed him twice. he obviously put his life’s plans on hold for them and it really backfired

he was actually a pretty nurturing guy, hence why he put his own life on hold to save his parents. his parents definitely fucked this up for him lmao so he’s probably not as willing to help people out unless he really really vibes w them

probably why he doesn’t mind being a custodian bc he gets to help the bnb in small ways

he’s become very guarded and closed-offed because of what went down

completely distrustful of anyone and everyone, it takes a lot for him to really open up to you and be emotionally vulnerable, let alone vulnerable period.

he’s very grumpy and has become pessimistic. he’s basically a huge cynic and thinks that every man is out for themselves and there’s no point in trying to change that. he sees the worst in people before they can even show it to him, and that’s the only version of him he wants other people to see too. he has literally lost that glimmer in his eyes and is in such an emo phase aghsbdjfngkhml but rlly he’s just fucking bummed it traumatized him BAD

no but really rohan will go out of his way to make sure other ppl have bad days. he’s essentially the little storm cloud that follows everyone, v grumpy and just...moody abhsdfjngk. he has a MASSIVE chip on his shoulder and it truly does show,,,

he was a sweet kid but his parents really showed him that you absolutely have to guard that part of you and idk it’s almost easier for him to just be heartless than to actually show that side of him

his cynicism has definitely leaked into his love life so he’s not super keen on love bc yes,, he is literally having That emo phase abhsjnfkm he’s just scared of trusting so he obviously can’t open himself up to being a good partner

might fuck around somewhat but is probably a pretty inexperienced guy bc he’s just naive

he’s his first priority, so i don’t really think loyalty is a concept to him, he kinda just does whatever he can to bring himself a moment of joy

i think he’s probably better about this w people he really loves or trusts but i dont think theres many like he’s probably always a little skeptical of everyone, just bc he fears that sense of rejection u feel

this was a major shift for him bc he was obviously pretty selfless and really did a lot to help his parents but at this point he really just wants to focus on himself and his own needs but i’m sure he’ll slip up at times hehe
