Costume References: (Broadway/London) Persephone
Need some Hadestown costume references for drawing (or cosplay) ?? Here you go 🌹
Persephone’s Act 1 dress is green, while her Act 2 dress is black. They are the same in every way, except they’re just different colors. Instead of having her hair down with red flowers as she has in Act 1, her hair in Act 2 is in a snood and she wears a different hairpiece with black flowers.
On top of her Act 1 dress, she wears a white fur coat with a green gradient. She first wears this when she comes back to the surface in “Livin’ It Up On Top.” It is then taken off by Orpheus and hung to the side on a hook until “Way Down Hadestown,” where the ensemble puts it back on her as Hades makes his entrance. She takes it off again in the beginning of “Chant I.”
Persephone wears her silver wedding ring on her left hand, fourth finger, matching Hades’s. Her current flask is the rounder one with the hole in the center (the rectangular one was the one she used in the past before they switched it up). She also has a plain straw fan she occasionally fans herself with.
