This infographic shares information on urbanization in Malta. 95.4% of the total population of Malta is urban population, which shows that only around 20,000 people are living in rural areas. The rate of urbanization on the island is also increasing at an alarming rate. 

According to the CIA’s World Factbook, Malta’s adult prevalance rate in obesity is 28.7% which places us our country, 32nd in the world! Moreover, from other statistics, it is noted that the Maltese are the most obese, most physical inactive and also highly affected by diabetes. Recently statictics indicates that 41% of schoolchildren about either overweight or obese.

It has been the worst winter drought that hit the islands in the past 93 years, which marks the first signs of the Maltese agriculture being affected by climate change.
