Sometimes Eddie and Maddie bestieism is fun and whimsical but in my heart of hearts I truly believe Maddie thinks Eddie is just kind of okay, nothing special, meanwhile Eddie is terrified of Maddie and avoids her at all costs, not because he's in love with Buck and thinks she'll clock him (even though this is also true), but because Maddie is ACTUALLY the kind of Cool and Collected Under Pressure Eddie PRETENDS to be and he's sure she'll take one look at him and be able to tell he's a huge fraud and faking it. Meanwhile Buck is living in lalaland where he's SURE Eddie thinks Maddie is as cool as he does and he's also sure that Maddie Understands That Eddie Is Everything
