Ghouls, Ghouls, Ghouls

Suzuya: He’s more interested in the fact that they’re wearing matching pyjamas than the comedy, to be honest. Suzuya would like to bring that fact up every couple of minutes or so, as though his partner would forget that they’re now perfectly compatible, even down to their clothing. It’s a comfortable night spent tucked under the blankets together, except for when Suzuya accidentally kicks it off when he suddenly remembers he’s left food in the microwave.

Haise: He absolutely loves the cheesiness of watching comedies and wearing matching clothing. Haise would tease his partner a little, cracking jokes about how good they both look or how they’ve stolen his fashion, and he might even try to get them to take a picture together, just so he could save the moment. His partner pretends to roll their eyes and tells him that they could just wear it together again, much to Haise’s delight.

Haise:

would unplug all the appliances before bedtime because he’s afraid of them blowing up.

but then he’d forget to plug all of them back in in the morning so he’d do something like press the timer on the microwave and wonder why it wouldn’t work.

fortunately, Haise doesn’t mind being the one to unload the dishwasher, and he’d organize the plates and cups by size in the cabinets.

houseplants are a hit and miss. Because he’s so busy, Haise would probably keeps plants that don’t require much attention.

the radio is permanently set to the jazz radio station. He’d hum along as he putters around the house.

garbage days aren’t usually a problem because Haise always sorts his recycling from his garbage, but if he’s had a rough week he’d forget to put it out. Then he’d have to dash out of his house the next morning and chase after the garbage truck in his bathrobe and slippers.

Uta: While he’s not a musician, Uta is aware of the intricacies involved in the art and he’d praise his partner on their skills. He wouldn’t object to them practicing around his studio either, because it’d be nice to listen to them play while he’s working. Sometimes, if they’re really concentrated on their songs, Uta would sketch them and save those drawings for inspiration later on.

Uta: Perhaps the most frustrating thing about making out with Uta is his ability to remain unruffled by the sexual tension no matter how hard his partner tries to provoke him. Open-mouthed kisses, light bites to his lower lip, bold hands wandering progressively lower and lower; yet nothing seems to make him break yet, even when his partner’s sitting with their legs spread over Uta’s hips, leaning over him as he reclines against the headboard, chuckling into the kisses. He asks if they’re eager, and the amusement in their tone makes his partner huff, looking away. That’s when long fingers reach up to catch their face, squeezing their jaw lightly, and turns their face back to his. The light in Uta’s eyes have changed now, and while he’s still smiling, there’s a kind of sharp gleam in his gaze as he looks at them.

“I asked you,” he said softly, flattening a hand against the base of their spine. “If you’re eager?”

It’s accompanied by a firm press downwards, pressing their lower halves together. Uta’s mouth is brushing against his the underside of his partner’s chin before his kisses go lower, down their neck, towards their collarbones, and just as he bites down he suddenly thrusts his hips harshly upwards. His partner would’ve fallen over if Uta’s hand hadn’t been holding them against him, and they moan at the sudden sensation, because there’s heat, there’s the feeling of his teeth scraping over their neck, and the wonderful pressure of Uta’s hand against their spine, holding them in place.

Naki: He’d be praying the whole time that the loud music, the darkness, and his girlfriend’s engrossment in the film will prevent her from noticing the literal tears running down his face. Naki’s trying to give himself a mental pep talk as well, telling himself he’s seen more gruesome things and he is somebody’s worst nightmare, but the suspenseful music, the shadowy figures and the jumpscares are enough to make him wish he’d never agreed to the movie. It’s taking all of his concentration to keep from flying up in his seat each time something leaps out from the screen and the characters scream, but he’s done several full-body twitches that’s nearly knocked his girlfriend’s hand off the armrest.

Ayato: It’ll take a lot of preparations on his part, mentally, because Ayato can barely imagine himself planning out something cheesy or romantic, let alone executing it. He’d probably ask his partner about the types of things they’d like to do, all while attempting to play it cool and hide his ulterior motives. In the end, he suggests going stargazing, because it’ll just be the two of them and it’ll be dark, so his partner can’t watch him fluster as he does his best to take care of them. He’d pretend to grumble while throwing his scarf around their neck, shove their hands into his pockets while complaining about them getting a cold, and then lecture them on all the kinds of stars they see while trying to keep the stammer out of his voice when his partner teases him about being such a solar system nerd.

shiro!Kaneki: He’s shocked at himself, scared of accidentally hurting his partner, and then fears their reaction. Kaneki immediately puts a large amount of distance between himself and his partner, which seems to surprise them, even if they’re terrified of what they see. It’s an awkward situation where both of them are just staring at each other, sort of naked, and horribly confused about what’s going on.

Uta: Unperturbed by the turn of events, Uta settles back on the bed but doesn’t stray from his partner, even as they’re trembling and asking what it is coming out of his back. “Really, couldn’t you guess?” Uta teases them, his tone light, but he keeps an eye out on them. The mood in the bedroom has deflated now, and he’s waiting to see just how his partner will react to this rather shocking surprise.

Rize: There’s a possibility that she doesn’t even notice that simply because her attention’s focused on her partner, but that doesn’t mean they don’t see it. When they panic, they alert Rize of what’s happened, and she won’t hesitate to pin them down again, laughing when she sees the look of shock on their face. “What, never seen a ghoul’s kagune before?” she’d tease, a seductive lilt in her voice that fails to completely hide the underlying hunger in her tone.

Naki: It shocks Naki into silence when his partner blurts out the exact same thing as he did. Then, he flusters in confusion and asks, “Since when?!” But really, his partner feels like they should ask him the same thing. The two of them will get over their astonishment sooner or later.

Ayato: Splutters in surprise and is a little annoyed with himself for not figuring it out sooner. “Why did you tell me before!” he huffs at his partner, because Ayato feels as though they could’ve avoided skirting around one another for so long.

Yomo: If it was not the response Yomo had been expecting, he’s surprised but also gets over it very quickly. Yomo would want to know about his partner’s life as a ghoul, and how they’ve managed to survive for so long. In a way, this brings them even closer to each other.

Kaneki: Takes the hit, and doesn’t really complain about it. Kaneki is very apologetic to his partner and says a whole bunch of sorry’s, trying to make it up to them. Even though his partner is still holding their chest, they laugh and tell Kaneki that everything is okay.

shiro!Kaneki: Manage to block a portion of the hit, but Kaneki still gets a stinging whap to the stomach. It makes him cough as he clutches at his partner, weakly asking them if they were okay. It flusters his partner, because it seems like Kaneki’s the one that needs more comforting than them at the moment.

Yomo: He hadn’t intended on scaring his partner, but when they jumped and smacked Yomo in the face it startles him for only a moment before he gathers his composure. Then Yomo would apologize for startling his partner, and all would be well.

shiro!Kaneki: He’d be upset and Kaneki might have the tendency to shoulder the blame himself, wondering where he’d gone wrong or if the argument was a result of something he said. He would avoid his partner for some time and immerse himself in other things to keep his mind occupied, but it doesn’t work very well. Inevitably, Kaneki finds his thoughts wandering back to his partner.

Tsukiyama: He’s frustrated, but Tsukiyama would want to resolve the problem then and there. Delaying things and letting bad feelings fester would only do more harm then good, so Tsukiyama would tell his partner that they can figure out a solution then and there and get over the argument together. If his partner agrees, it would calm Tsukiyama significantly, because now he knows his partner is trying their best too. But if they want to solve things later, it might frustrate Tsukiyama, even if he gets that they need space.

Uta: Uta would find that taking a break from contacting his partner would be best. Depending on the severity of the argument, he might just want some distance to collect himself or he might be seriously upset with his partner and wouldn’t want to talk to them at all. He might not take initiative to contact them afterwards, but if the argument wasn’t so bad and he finds that his partner seems to have gotten over it too, Uta would arrange to meet up again.

Yomo: He’d take the time to cool down and reflect on the aspects of the argument. Was he being unreasonable? Did his partner have a point? What would happen next? Yomo would probably already try to think about making up with his partner before he’s even properly over the argument simply because he doesn’t want to drag things out with them.

Itori is amazing, and she definitely needs more love!

Itori: There’s a reason why the guys were a little wary of Itori meeting their significant other, but the moment they slip up and allow the two of them more than a couple of minutes to themselves, Yomo and Uta would inevitably find that she’s revealed the most unflattering little secrets about them to their partner, all under the justification of “Well, I had to let them know what they’re getting into when it comes to you two dweebs!” It exasperates them, but Itori’s always sure to slip in a good word for them here and there, but she’ll never reveal that to her friends.

“Did you know Uta once tried to dye his hair blond but ended up grabbing hot pink instead? Weirdly enough, that was the last time he ever tried to dye his hair.”

Yomo: the cold, unoccupied sheets next to him on the bed was the first indication that something was wrong. The stillness of his home was the next indicator, and when Yomo finally got up, a deep frown on his face as he walked through the whole floor, the feeling of anxiety only increased when his partner was nowhere to be found. There was no note left behind, no explanation. Just a few essentials missing from their shared closet and the emptiness left behind in the room.

The worst part is, it takes Yomo at least another day before he can properly piece together a semblance of a story based on what he sees around him: increased CCG activities, routine checks in the most mundane places, whispers from ghouls in street corners about a fugitive the Doves have got an eye on. And the description is far too close to Yomo’s partner for it to be a coincidence, and he fears for his partner’s safety. He wants to search for them, but time is not permitting and the circumstances keep him on a tight leash. He exhausts his connections left and right, but all he runs into are dead ends.

And then he realizes, he might never know what happens to his partner. The CCG won’t publicly announce the capture (or execution) of ghouls. That could mean his partner might still be out there, evading the Doves, or they could already be gone, and Yomo might never know. Or he might find out one day, and discover that he’s already too late.

Tsukiyama: He’s stricken with grief, and for a long while Tsukiyama simply maintains his distance from the zombie. He doesn’t want to watch his partner disintegrate into a kind of mindless monster, but he doesn’t want to be the one to destroy his partner. Tsukiyama doesn’t think his heart could handle losing his partner for a second time.

Ayato: Anger is his first reaction, followed by a destructive self-hate. Ayato can’t bring himself to end the zombie, not when it was once his partner, but he also doesn’t know what else he could do.

Amon: He’d undoubtably blame himself for his inability to protect his partner, and if he had to destroy the zombie that was once his partner, Amon would do it, but the regret would stay with him for the rest of his life.

Suzuya: Suzuya’s initial reaction is a kind of serene shock coupled with disbelief. He wouldn’t be caught by the zombie, but he doesn’t leave their side either. From time to time he’d call out to the zombie, with a distant kind of hope that they might respond to him, but there is no recognition from what was formerly his partner. Eventually, Suzuya would destroy the zombie, and he’s fast and efficient with it. Somehow, as the zombie dies, he thinks a part of him has died with it too.
