I want a fic where Tim basically asks out Kon for something and Kon thinks itβs real and Tim thinks itβs for just one time.
The best one is probably a gala. So Tim wants a date for his gala, one that will spite Bruce (or at least he thinks will) because heβs a little annoyed at Bruce.
Will you go to the gala with me on Saturday?
Yes. Itβs black tie, Iβll send you a suit
Tim doesnβt pay it much attention but Kon is. In fact, heβs panicking because he hasnβt been to these formal events in forever. Heβs nervous because Tim just asked him out! On a date!
Heβs nervous the whole day and keeps checking the chat to make sure heβs not hallucinating.
Kon eventually decides he is not hallucinating. Then, on Friday, he is sent the suit. He tries them on, but struggles to choose which one. Blushing down to his neck, he sends them all to Tim and asks which one he likes the best.
Tim chooses the one that has the red tie.
At the gala, Tim is immediately latching on to him, complimenting him loudly. Kon blushes, but reluctantly compliments him back. Tim, in full Tim Drake persona, only gives him a flirty wink. Kon thinks he could die happy.
Tim, on the other hand, is even more annoyed. Because surely, Bruce would be disappointed that hes going out with Kon? He has a whole βno metas in Gothamβ thing and he really thought Bruce would get mad. But the man only gives him a supporting smile, and even says βIβm glad you worked things outβ because what?! He didnβt have anything to work out with Kon, thank you very much.
But he thinks this over. They have always had this sort of tension, and they would always be a little more than best friends but not lovers. He contemplates this for a while, until it is time to dance.
Kon, having built up the courage over the past couple minutes, asks him to go for a twirl on the dance floor. Tim agrees, and they both (stiffly) go to their positions. Timβs persona is gone, his cheeks tinted pink, and Kon has a nervous face with cherry red ears. Nonetheless, they both enjoy the dance. Whenever they make eye contact, one quickly looks away, but they secretly like this moment.
At the end of the gala, Tim drags Kon away to talk.
βIβm sorry I put you through all this, Kon.β Tim says, apologetically.
Kon only smiles. βHey, itβs fine. I agreed to it, and it was a nice date, anyway.β
Tim blushes. βYeah. I guess.β
βSo, whenβs the next one going to be?β
βThe next gala? Well, I wasnβt sure if id ask you again because you were looking quite uncomfortable butββ
Kon interrupts him. βI mean the next date.β
Tim is speechless. βDate?β
βYeah, date. Whenβs our next one?β He repeats slowly.
The detective comes to the conclusion that Kon thought this was real. And that he was willing to go on another one. Tim blinks.
βMaybe.. the arcade?β Tim asks. Heβs now hopeful.
Kon smiles like he got gifted the sun. βSure.β
So in the end, Tim realised that Kon thought this was real, so he just decided to go along with the flow. Eventually, he would have to tell him, right?
